This is a terrible idea, the forum is not going to change after two weeks when the campaigns return to normal, I do not see any benefit in this than a possible reduction in the work to moderators, however the negative effects of this are huge for everyone: For the users who will not get paid for posting (and I am sure that good users will continue posting), for the companies that will have lower conversion results and also for the forum that will have less search traffic from indexers (it also makes money from ads).

I agree with what @promise444c5 said, to really evaluate the result of something like this we would need a much longer period of time, the problem is: what if this does not work? What if the “test fails”?

The best thing really is to punish those who do things wrong, the way things are being done.

Does it? I don't think I have seen ads here!?

You are right! Since when has that been the case? I thought I was not seeing them because of my ad blocker, but in fact we do not have any banners anymore. Anyway, that has already taken the focus away from the OP, sorry.

Maybe I'm the only one that found this post very funny but to think of it, if signature campaign is banned for 2 weeks it won't have much negative impact in the forum. Of course, spammers will run away because nobody will be making posts only to meet up with signature campaign post count.
The traffic here would greatly reduce if that happens to be honest. But OP's proposal doesn't make sense at all. He should be more busy working on himself to make better contribution to the forum while he prepares to come back to earning from here.

Quote
Signature campaign rewards is just a privilege for advertising a site, and not an entitlement. Perhaps, there are people who have never joined a signature campaign but they're still actively making posts and following forum's activity almost everyday (e.g vapourminer and JayJuanGee).
From what I read, there are users that you see around that don't wear signatures who are on forum customized payroll and I think they are even paid more than the mods.

That doesn't sound like a healthy financial situation.
This is correct, people should have a life outside the forum. Those who depend solely on the forum have higher tendencies of abusing it.

I'd say this thread has just exposed and revealed to other users the personality of the OP, he actually wants to spread his disease to every user.
I don't want problems, I love peace always Wink

The OP is not thinking straight that was why he created this thread, who in his reasonable senses will suggest signature ban for everyone, for no reason.
At the opposite of what you and the other members think, I am pretty much happy to see more "No" in the poll. I have a point to make here. It might not be obvious for most of you. After all this topic might be a reference one day when this subject starts to be critical, soon maybe.

if so, the poll should of been public with who voted what.

who voted yes? is there a list? if so its gonna be an easy copy/paste into my ignore list.

Freedom of speech at its best here.
The poll will not last forever for sure. Anyone can vote to see the results if curious enough.
There is no list of who voted yes or no. They are free and I am not curious to know names. Those voting Yes might have signatures or not but they have a point of view that should be respected.

Probably those like OP (who seems like doesn't have anything better to do until January 27th than troll) who are butthurt that they got sigbanned.  Tongue

Anyway, thread reported so hopefully gets locked.

I answered earlier about the troll part. It is unfortunate to see established members here replying without reading the previous posts. We used to blame newbies for that.
AFAIK this topic isn't breaking any rule of the forum. If some members are trying to deviate the topic to discuss other things then ask mods to lock it then this strategy is pathetic and known.
Keep the discussion civilised please. Thanks.
