The manner in which those journalists spread misinformation is actually annoying, something have to be done to curb that. For football fans, you guys would agree with me that this summer has been the most disturbing summer, filled with fake transfer news by monetized influencers. One funny thing about most club supporters is that they normally believe those journalists on social media, meanwhile, most of the news those journalists spread online is fake rumours. I have seen so many fake rumours in the Premier League thread and other threads that are related to sports games. My advice to all club supporters is that they should also do their own research to verify the information they hear on social media before they start spreading it or to believe it.

The social media platforms cannot regulate the inflow of false news, how would they even know that a particular news is genuine or not, it is about own individual responsibility to discern on whether the information received is also confirmed from reliable sources or not, we are not expected to directly apply a single approach to accept any information received without making every necessary confirmation procedures, there are a lot of breaking news, well how do we know which one is fake or not, even the platform cannot regulate and take action against those that do so.

So many people would do anything to earn on social media through monetization programs, and that includes posting fake and regurgitated news for views/impressions or clickbaits and other kind of stuffs. As far as your solution goes, you don't expect law enforcement to get involved, unless someone shares defamatory contents for clicks.

That said, X is changing how people earn in their platform, starting next month, rewards would be based on original content and not regurgitated stuff, and i think that is a step in the right direction.

If that's the case, then the court might not be able to accommodate the number of people spreading clickbait or misleading information... because I think there are so many people on social media these days spreading that kind of misleading information, not just about football, but about many other things as well.. but what they're doing isn't something that should automatically lead to court, unless it has caused harm to the person or party they are referring to.

I think that arresting them will be a very severe punishment for the action but at the same time it is deserving that do not go without some form of punishment or penalty and for this reason I feel like a temporary ban on their accounts is even too mild for the situation they've put people in because many people respond to fake news a whole lot, reacting in several ways that you may not even be able to imagine because rumors spread like wildfires and for the persons who started these rumors or fake information they deserve to have some sort of deserving punishment, I think a huge fine and a ban on their acooounts is good enough, when others see the punishment, they will think again before sharing fake news.

Always verify the information that you do able to read up or heard on which it would be that impossible that you cant really be able to trace up on where those information came from. The wrong thing on here is that there are those who do become overreactive when hearing up such news and making up such immediate decisions without verifying those information and this would be leading into bad decisions or simply with those loses. Would they be able to face up some charges or fine? It would really be entirely be depending on those regulating bodies whether they would impose strict laws or regulations in regarding on spreading false news about this and that on which it would really be able to disrupt out things but of course as on your own personal take then its just that common sense that verifying information is something that you must do.

In this case, we should also not believe anything in a hurry. And if social media can already detect fake news or understand fake info, then it deletes those posts. Many times, it is more effective if users report it. As a result, not only journalists but also any other public figure will refrain from spreading fake info or news. And if the government of that country starts taking strict action against them, then they will definitely refrain from spreading such information. There is no rule for journalists to do anything under the pretext of freedom. They can present the correct info as they want, but I don't think there is a need to create unnecessary problems among people by publishing fake info.

Your of punishing them that spreads false news in the media is very nice to me so that the public can always be sure that whatsoever of informations they gets from the online news should be trusted to be legitimate because, the internet had really turned to be an avenue that accommodates and promotes false news.

But hold on, does this punishable policy just have to be because of the false news around the sports? I don't think if it worth taking this drastic actions of the authorities worth it except they (authorities) generally intends to control internet false informations which I also don't think it will be possible with how online contents had become a serious source of making money and also considering the invokes of the AI which obviously is convincing to be reality.
Politicians as well will be affected which means no sector will be left unaffected if the punishment policy is implemented.

Clickbait is indeed a very dangerous thing in every field and not just in the gambling or Sport industry, and it usually portrays wrong image after the public might have been misled and only to later find out the true story. And in regards to that, I strongly agree with this punishment you stated above to be issued to any social media influencers or journalist who is found victim of clickbaiting post just to drag people's attention to it, and in the end they make money from it through ads or sponsorship deals. Because inasmuch as social media keeps paying for the much views you are able to generate within a certain period of time, people will always go ahead doing the unthinkable, until a reasonable punishment is been issued to people found guilty of such crime.

Well, tabloids are "hard to get", it seems... They pay some penalties here & there, but on the other side, their profit is much greater. As one forum member asked a question: What happens when penalties are much lower than profit? Companies will continue to break the law... simple as that.

Is there a solution? I don't think there's a universal solution, and for sure I don't think that arresting influencers can help... all you can do is to keep yourself out of that story. Simply change the channel and don't think about it...

I believe the solution to curb this misleading information by influencers and journalist is to arrest their information provider (if it's human not AI) because some people in the filed of news and journalism have the people that provide them first hand information.
If the person they have been working with for years who provide them correct information it's hard for a journalist not to believe in the information provided by such person.

It will be hard for social media to restrict the account that provides misleading information unless the government step in and give social media CEOs strict rules and regulations to do this because what social media feed on is trends they need it for engagement either positive or negative.

I like the problem that you are describing here, because this is one of the worst problems that we have in the digital sphere and it is impacting many areas of our lives more than people want to accept. This problem is not limited in any way to gambling and it is a huge challenge for the modern society. The restrictions and fines that you propose are not strong enough, they should be fined and be charged as criminals and lose their ability to every work in journalism. That is one of the harsh methods that would work for problems like this, but on the other side of this we need to be careful because if we implement it not specific enough then many journalists could be charged for writing things that may be interpreted as false but it is borderline or not false but more subjective. That is the issue that comes to surface if you want to try to solve a problem like this, it is not that nobody in the world wants to solve this problem but it is really hard.

For the social media presence, people who are criminally convicted or convicted for something like this should be permanently banned from all platforms. That is my opinion but you have another issue there, and it is how to enforce this. The only way that this could be enforced properly is if there was mandatory and heavy KYC verification for each platform or digital ID solutions. If we solve one problem this way, we are creating more problems for us.

Already many people believed that not all information from social media will be absorbed or given attention, because their's a lot of mislead informations in social media, so when we come across of information we have filter some and investigate it properly before we concur for it..Bloggers post fake information in order to get paid from theirs social media monetized account...

And if you don't make your research you will believe them,  thinking what they dropped in their handle or page is a genuine information, if  social media influencesrs will be penalised for circulating wrong information, i think will bring a reduction of posting a false news.

You mean putting them in jail, because the I don’t think he was.. Detained doesn’t mean imprisoned and according to the source I added on the first page, he was really not long after. He was probably,  questioned and released after the whole thing.

What will work is having a registered source that handle the informations regarding that aspect and if anything should go wrong, they should be fined as a body. Or each club/ league should  handle the disclosure of such information through a source or sources they control.

There should be a limit to how they can be allowed to just pay for penalties and walk away; like the local truth or dare game we play with a circle of friends if it's your turn, and they dare you to do something if you refuse the rules stating that you will have to empty a glass of alcohol or pay a specific amount of fine there is always rules on how much one can drink and the amount they can also possibly pay once's it's reached we can say it's obvious the person is internationally doing it such rules can also be applied here, once the penalty to pay is no longer obstructing them from publishing false news other harder punishment should be given that way they will be forced to comply.
