Does any online gambling site really require a license? Technically speaking, no, but legally, yes. If you want to process fiat payments, partner with legit game providers, and operate without fear of being blocked or seized.

But if you run an unlicensed "no-KYC" gambling site, you're just running an illegal business and taking on all the legal liability that comes with it.

I will suggest you think towards that direction ( licensing your brand ) so that you can be fully legal and operate without any form of disruption or fear of being shut down by the government. However, if you start operating without being licensed, this will undermine your reputation and public trust and also it will limit you from a wider audience. Because many customers/gamblers will be scared of patronizing your platforms and they will likely term your brand (casinos etc) to be scam since you operating without no legal documents that is backing you up. Hence you are able to build it up to this point as a business owner, what is there that is stopping you from licencing it? Why not licence it at once so that when started, there will be no form disruption that can limit you from achieving greater heights in your business.

I can not use a gambling site that does not have a license and neither can I recommend such a gambling site.

It is easy for scammers to try to scam people using a gambling site that is not having license. A good gambling site should get a license and not think about how expensive it is. Also they should market the gambling site.

CMIIW, but for me... I would probably give it a try. I think we need to separate between not having a license and being untrustworthy. IMO, it's like rejecting a fact just because the person saying it doesn't have an ID card. Does that make sense?

As a gambling casino, you needs to be licenced because majority of informed gambler will not use your casino to gamble since they will mostly feels that the casino is not trust worthy, and they will believe that you guys can shut down and run away with people's funds any moment, so you first need's to register the casino before starting full time operations, because not registering your casino means that the casino is a potential scam or disaster waiting to happen, since they can easily run away without being track down.

Don't run an online casino without license, that's illegal and your business will probably face the consequences depending on which country you are from, also starting as a no KYC casino is a good way of attracting gamblers as there are still many people who run after no KYC casinos unlike me.

I also want to say that many No KYC casinos are illegal and it's why they are able to provide this service, it's also the reason why they misbehave later on, with their gamblers money and others, on the long run you can't run a casino without KYC and not get regulated, once your license is on there is a huge chance that you will be forced to start asking for KYC verification from your visitors.

Reputations matters a lot. If many people have been using the gambling site since a long time ago and the site has no record of scam, I might use it to gamble. But if it is new gambling sites, I can not use it to gamble. Although, I will not fully trust the gambling site.

Yeah, run a casino without a license, then question yourself why you have so little clients. Even though people dont always check if license is real, if casino has no license, many would skip playing there. It isnt difficult to get a license. If you want to operate legally then you need a license, but if not then thats already your own risk. Thats why when we see new casinos in the forum with their ANN thread, one thing the community would look at is if they have a license, because that can tell us if they can really be trusted.

Of course a license does not guarantee they will always operate honestly, but at least there is some trace and regulators can go after them if they mess up. They can face legal problems for scamming compared to those who can easily get away since they dont even declare their real identity.

To be honest, it's not only about legal liabilities or consequences, even gamblers nowadays don't trust casinos without regulations or a valid license because they believe such a platform can scam their customers at any time, and they are not really wrong about that if you think about it. Imagine a casino is operating without any license and then it runs away with the funds of their gamblers, even if some of the gamblers have large amounts in their accounts, what can they do about it? Literally nothing.

Most people nowadays barely care about privacy or not sharing their personal information and not doing KYC. A casino being no-KYC doesn’t necessarily mean it can operate without a license. Licensing requirements and player identity verification are two different things.

I also wouldn’t look at a license as just a formality. For a new project, it affects access to payment providers, game providers, advertising, and partnerships, and most importantly, player trust. And the main thing - it’s especially difficult to convince someone to deposit a serious amount of money on a completely new website if there’s no regulated structure behind it at all.
The model of “we get just one license and then legally operate in every country in the world without KYC” simply doesn’t work in practice.

There’s no way. License provider that offer No KYC with their client casino was misleading their customers with their service.
