Bisq is a good recommendation for face to face (F2F) trades. It is a decentralized exchange, so that makes it even better. I am not sure how popular this kind of trade is nowadays, but it is kind of good for 'privacy', except of course that you show your face to your counterparty. It is easy to set up a F2F trade in Bisq, considering you see an offer around your region.

Depending on where you live, Bitcoin ATMs may be an option.  Personally, that is my preferred method for exchanging for cash.  Plus, there are always local Bitcoin user groups for in-person trades.

For the whole of Europe there are right now
- zero deals for buying F2F
- one deal for selling in Rome

39/17 total offers, Bisq is a ghost town for some regions

With the high operator's fee? Anyway, just like you said, op would have to live in a place where they can find a bidirectional BATM, i think a one-way machine is more popular. However, i believe people do F2F trades to avoid kyc, but in BATM's you have to submit kyc. And then if you are selling BTC for cash, you'd have to wait for your tx to confirm on the blockchain, before the machine dispenses cash to you.

True, it depends on the op's region. LocalCoinSwap is another alternative, they offer Cash-In-Person trades, though i've not used this service before. Probably if you have or someone else has, they could give their review!

I'm guessing most are down with local marketplaces and exclusive groups. Within a city, for example. From where I am, recommended platforms such as Bisq could stall your face-to-face offer for weeks, if not months, even forever.

Here in my locality, you could opt to sell your Bitcoin for cold cash with over-the-counter options. We have Moneybees, for example, which has partners spread all over the country. It's just that you might be asked for an ID.

Where I live, the operator fee is roughly 3-4%, which doesnt seem that bad to me.  As for two-way BATMs, as far as I know, most of them in Europe work that way.  also, some of operators here even let you start a cash-out online first.  You can send the funds from the comfort of your couch, get a QR code, and just tap it at the machine to pick up your cash whenever you want.  That way you dont have to wait on block confirmations at the physical ATM.

I know some people who still do in my country.  So.  Yes, people still do this.  You only need to find the right deal for you.

Purchasing and selling for Cash is going to become more and more difficult and I do expect this to slow down a lot in the following years.  So enjoy it while you still can.

With the presence of digital account options that are growing in numbers, I believe people would rather use that over the cash money option which is not that convenient and also poses a security concern. I know a couple of folks who were traders and ended up getting robbed of their Bitcoins when they did face to face deals with some people that posed as traders. They became targets, got trailed and were made to send Bitcoins to the robbers' addresses under gun point.

LocalCoinSwap was very popular in its heyday and competed with LocalBitcoins. I think many active LocalBitcoins users have now switched to LocalCoinSwap, so it probably wouldn't be difficult to find the LBTCs former customers used to trade with.

Do people still buy & sell BTC for CASH money? if yes, what are popular platforms for this nowadays?

Don't give me the CEX P2P (binance, bybit, etc...)... i miss localbitcoin  Sad
You already mentioned some exchanges that manage p2p trading for cash. Even from the forum, you can buy and sell Bitcoin for exchange in the currency exchange section. I don’t use any other platform to sell Bitcoin for cash. Sometimes use Binance or Bybit. Otherwise, we have a local group where we can sell or buy Bitcoin for cash. For selling or buying big amounts I have been using these resellers group.

I feel safe directly buying and selling in a local group; we have a trusted group and resellers. There is an escrow system as well to secure trade. So it doesn't matter where you live if there are any trusted groups of resellers to trade Bitcoin for cash. Although exchanges ask for KYC, it’s almost safe trading there for cash. Be careful if you find something new on a P2P platform for Bitcoin trading.

I remember 10 years ago, in my locality, shops were available for bitcoin to cash transactions, few years later these traders started disappearing just after local bitcoin closed down. I couldn't figure out the reason why most traders didn't give out cash anymore, recently it appears all of them transitioned to bank transfer options, it's rare to see them going to shop with huge sum of money for paying bitcoin sellers. It saves every party time to transact online, also most buyers/sellers contact merchants through the web, and safety isn't assured in transacting bitcoin to cash with a total stranger from the net.
