For a Michael_Scofield not impressed with the man's decision!! I know herd mentality is a human thing, but Scofield come on how did you find yourself reading sad Reddit board's such that they convinced you to call it quits??

Quote
what is it now? It's an elite product to generate fees from nothing, to marketing it and to sell it to fools. It has zero usercase, zero real value and zero users except the spectators at the margin.

After analysing the choice of words used here, clearly these are the kind of people that believe Bitcoin is a pyramid scheme and should be worth nothing.. I guarantee you these type of people can never change their beliefs over BTC and stand firm on these beliefs.

Yes, I did. And just to clarify,  I'm bothered with what the poster from Reddit said about Bitcoin, because those things are unsupportable claims. I just don't like the fact that he or she is calling everyone who disagrees with him or her a bot, gambler or fool, remember everyone is entitled to their opinion including you and me, so there is no point in calling Bitcoin believers bots simply because they disagreed with your opinion.
If you’re still bothered with what people what others think or say about you or what you believe, simply because they have contrary beliefs and opinions, then you really need to go back to the drawing board. Everyone has the right and liberty to believe whatever they wanna believe and disagree with whatever they want, and if such a person sees you as less of a human, shouldn’t that be their problem?

The thing is that everyone can actually come out to say whatever they want to say about bitcoin  but it still doesn’t change the fact bitcoin is what it is. What I will not want to agree here is the claim that bitcoin has zero use case, like is it not clear enough that bitcoin being in used for transactions, savings and investments? Whether those uses are valuable enough to justify bitcoin’s price is another separate debate that I wouldn’t want to bring on.
Also I want to make this clear that because bitcoin is mostly measured in dollars doesn’t mean that bitcoin users believe fiat is better. It’s just because dollar are widely used as unit of account, just like gold are also valued in dollar.
However, I think we should agree on bitcoin without calling everyone on the other side a bot, gambler or fool, people should learn to state  facts before raining insults on stuff they clearly have no idea about.

Now, I am going to sound a bit contradictory, yeah. If I come across such an individual with such views about BTC, saying BTC has no use case or value, and it's all about speculations and generating fees from nothing. How exactly do I counter it.

I've read most replies and no one has really brought up any reasonable point proving the reddit post wrong. Most of what we are saying are just ambiguous and vague.

Don't think I am in support of the statement above, no! I am all for BTC, I think it is really a valuable asset. But, how do we counter such claim; not with vague replies like , "they are wrong" or "they don't know what they are saying, they don't just get it". But with real points proving how wrong they are. I would really love to hear real counter arguments to those claims.
How do you want forum members to counter the claims of someone who is not teachable? They argued with bitcoiners on a forum, and he concluded that people are bots, fools, and gamblers. His conclusion is wrong; how do you want us to counter it? They said Bitcoin is not a currency, yet many of us are using it to pay for services. The claim is that Bitcoin doesn't have real value, but the biggest economy in the world passed a law to hold Bitcoin as a reserve and never sell the coins they hold.

When Bitcoiners say fiat is worthless, that's the truth because it loses value easily. And many people have successfully used Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation. How did Michael Saylor hijack the Bitcoin market? All his claims are baseless; even a newbie can dispel or dispute them.
Hmmmm, interesting 🤔. But I think you just contradicted yourself with the claim that BTC's value stems from its usage as reserve. If we go by that then the US dollar has more value because it is the international reserve fund of almost all the countries in the world.

It's very easy to nitpick and say, "the guy is a moron". But I prefer factual and well grounded logic instead of nitpicking on the insulting parts of the conversation (ad hominem dismissal), and thereby throwing away the main issue that needs addressing.

I decided to visit this thread today to read the comments, and when I read your comment it stood out from the rest.  And if truth be told each and every one of us who commented on this thread didn't counter all what the Reddit poster said with any proof, it was mostly people trying to dismiss the Reddit poster without actually proving him wrong.  I will be glad to hear from those users who understand Bitcoin better than we do, because nobody has been able to counter his points with a convincing argument.

~
Dude is done with Bitcoin, let him be. Maybe he came to make easy dollars in it but got disappointed. He came into Bitcoin with the mindset that it's a replacement for Fiat, but it's only an alternative monetary system. Fiat is only used to measure it's value and not that it depends on fiat.

He expects Bitcoin to be used everywhere freely like fiat, he's not wrong to be disappointed, anyone can at anytime. The truth is that Bitcoin is still evolving, it's just 18 yrs old and has recorded such success. In the future, Bitcoin might have other grassroot use cases, especially as later 2 solutions are gaining attention.

but one thing I just want to respond to is in the area where he says Bitcoin have zero usage when we have seen Bitcoin.
2: self custody cross border remitance payment
3: store of value for investors.
I think only this two are proper use cases, the other ones are not what Bitcoin is used for.
We still have censorship resistance, privacy, merchants payments, permissionless access e.t.c

The individual is nothing but a pained critic, they aren’t satisfied unless they convince the masses to adjust to their own perspective or opinion. You can define bitcoin in your own term, but it would be wrong to call it’s users fools and gamblers. Those set of individuals that badmouth bitcoin and it’s users are those ones that created a project and it failed.Probably they’re pained due to a result of their failed project but bitcoin isn’t the cause of their failure and all the rest. And what exactly is giving those bitcoin critics the perspection of bitcoiners not using fiat,if we don’t use fiat then what exactly do we use in our daily transactions, that’s honestly a false perspective cooked up in pain.

Well that explains why I usually find it hard passing the are you a robot question.
Though he never called people that believes in Bitcoin bot
What he meant was there are times he has had argument with bots during his time there.
So either he's calling us gamblers or fools  Cheesy
And the Fool in the tarot called symbolizes unlimited potential and taking a leap into the unknown
So not quite wrong.

I wish him success on his new adventure.
This a an interesting part, having to call someone a bot, gambler or even a fool just because of they do believe in Bitcoin doesn’t really add anything to the discussion.Everyone has their personal decisions on either to support or disagree witj Bitcoin, but you disagreeing shouldn’t attack those in support of it. Those with the best approach at the end of the day will have something to show up for.

However, I think those who make such comments may not believe in Bitcoin, which is why they say all these things, their spiritual knowledge is very low. Otherwise, maybe the person who made such a post may have lost all his money while drunk and entered into gambling, which is why he made such a stupid comment. However, it is definitely a personal matter of a person, believing in Bitcoin and supporting it will depend on him, so it is not appropriate to talk like that at all. At the end of the day, we definitely expect good things from Bitcoin and Bitcoin is a digital currency in which we have had trust and faith for many years. In the past, when Bitcoin was at its peak, people did not believe much, but at present, people's faith has been awakened by the limited supply of Bitcoin and its security. Moreover, from the past to the present, those who have bought and traded Bitcoin have never faced much loss, and those who have knowledge. We can expect better things in Bitcoin in the future since its popularity is very high at present, but we should ignore such people who are stupid.
