Salaries can hardly make you to be rich
I agree that salaries can barely make you rich, but the purpose for salaries is that it can create a structure from which you can build from and become rich Because salary annals are very stable income earners considering that they are sure to receive a fixed amount of money at the end of the month, an amount of money that they can capitalize on and plan with to build a future for themselves. If you depend on your salary job to make wealth, you would work until retirement and find out that your dream cannot happen without you owning a form of business or offering a service outside the job that you have. This is why there are many people who work salary jobs but also have moved into owning businesses as an extra source of income because multiple sources of income is the way to get rich and then wealth.

One thing you forgot is that not every workman you see that steal, some ars just using what they have to get whatever it is that they will like to get I mean using Thier resources. Personally I don't see workers as people who are stealing, if you ask me I would say that they are just doing Thier Job, I don't see anything wrong if i charge my client 50k meanwhile the work is supposed to be 45k. This is not stealing, Although you might be talking about the other way round, the only people which I know that they are stealing is those that are into politics because they can give them money to give to the citizens and they will just have it all by themselves without distributing to those who are in need, in this case I would say they are stealing.

Politicians may be guilty of corruption but when it comes to workers, I don't think so. Because workers are usually earning from their hard work and if they are charging something, it means, that's the price of what they are doing. And that is true, most people who are corrupt are in the politics side of things. Because they have the access to funds and power, they can actually manipulate what's going on with that money.

I've heard many interviews from millionaires and billionaires who categorically tells their interviewers that nobody can become rich working for somebody else. Many employees and politicians that are public workers knows that employers and the government can only pay you what they figure that you would be comfortable with, they don't make plans for you to become rich. Salaries can hardly make you to be rich and I believe that this is the reason why some workers and politicians steal so much from the positions that they occupy to become very rich.
If you are in a public office, and you don’t involve yourself in any illegal activities in the office, then you can’t be extremely rich. What the government is offering you is the amount which will make you leave a standard life, and not what’s going to make you extremely rich. In most countries, politicians are always fighting for position, because they know that when they get there, they will be able to embezzle public funds. Politicians do use money which is suppose to be used for development of their society to enrich themselves. Before a politician get’s to a public office, they might be leaving comfortable life, but immediately they gets to a public office, everything about is going to change, you going to see them building luxury houses, they going to be buying expensive cars. In my country, everyone is fighting to get to a public offices because they want to enrich themselves.

It is difficult to become rich just by receiving a salary without having a business venture, as for politicians, they are rich not because of their salary but because of the many networks they have, both legal and illegal, they are rich because of the many offers for them, such as security, important letters, signing contracts and many more, if you want to be rich you don't have to have extensive knowledge, but who dares to take risks is what makes people rich, it is impossible to become rich if you only receive a salary

Majority of the riches today are not civil servants, they are self employed. And about the politicians I think they are taking advantage of the public office, if not I wonder what lives of some of them will look like. But as for workers who have another side hustle apart from their work (those with multiple source of income) it is very possible for them to become very rich. If the leaders are sincerely performing their responsibilities they wouldn't be as rich as they are. But they only focus on accumulating for their own interests and that’s why our countries are not developing as it should be.

I believe that if someone wants to become rich in an honest way, then there is no alternative to business. It is possible to become rich in an honest way only by doing business. But it is never possible to become rich by working because here you get a certain amount of salary. But those who work in government jobs can become owners of a lot of money by corruption in various ways, while those who do politics are the most associated with corruption. And all these people do not keep the money they earn by corruption in their own country but smuggle it abroad. The reason is that if they keep the money they have earned through corruption in their own country, they can be caught, so they smuggle it abroad and build a second home. What I have seen in my country maximum politicians have second homes abroad and have built all these things with money from corruption and those who work in government jobs take huge bribes. Everyone wants to get rich quick and that is why no one hesitates to commit corruption when they get the opportunity.

OP i don't really understand the point you are trying to make because some politicians are already rich before they joined politics. The question you should have asked is if politicians can't do without stealing when they assume public office. For workers, most of them already has the spirit of stealing in them and they cover it up by saying that where they are working is where they are going to eat from. Have they ever put themselves in the shoes of their employers and see how it feels to steal from their company. As far as I understand, becoming a billionaire without participating in corruption schemes is impossible. All billionaires have close business ties to government officials. 🙋
I agree that most billionaires have business relationship with those in goverment but it is not all billionaires. It will take you to be close with a billionaire to understand that there are some billionaires that doesn't do business with goverment officials. I'm surprised that you said all billionaires involves themselves in corruption schemes. How did you know that are all billionaires are corrupt?

Working for someone else’s wont get you rich, no matter how much your may be earning from that work. The minimum wages ain’t structured to make you rich.while working for someone else’s, your time and energy is tied a particular pay that you can’t even do another thing to earn you money. Most especially if you’re working with a private firm your schedule are already tight such that you barely have time for other businesses that can get you rich. If you look at the most successful people on earth are never workers. Politics can actually get you rich but there definitely has to stolen funds. if you are in politics and you don’t involve in embezzlement you might as well not get rich with just your basic salaries. First step to getting rich is actually thinking of investments that will generate you a leveraged income while you’re not even physically present.
But if we still look at it, there could still be some slim chances that someone becomes rich. When I say it's possible, I don't mean that you can get rich as a normal staff, they only way if you are able to climb the top part of the corporate ladder. It's is very hard but possible. One of the richest man in Nigeria was working under UBA bank till he was able to become the chairman of UBA. Realistically it's very hard, the chances of someone becoming rich are while working under someone are near zero. I agree with you that the best way is if someone actually starts their own business, it will create more time for them to think, innovate and develop new ways to upscale. For the Politician case , I have no words for them. Their only goal is how to get more money into their pockets through looting of public funds and projects fund. Those are only after their personal interest.

That's a ridiculous title for a thread. Of course, anybody can become rich without involving themselves in illicit business. Stealing/fraud/scam is just a shortcut to make money, one that can land you behind bars for a long, long time.
I've said it a couple of times already in this section of the forum, but i'd reiterate, innovation is one sure way to make a lot of money. If you are innovative, you bring something new and if what you're bringing is going to make life better for people, they will buy into it and your numbers will start growing. What you do when money starts rolling in also counts for a lot, invest in appreciating assets and let compound interest do the rest, over the years.

Correct and I really agree with you, because there's no need for anyone to do crimes just to be rich. Smart investing, skills and innovative ideas is the one can potentially build long term wealth to anyone. Stealing is maybe a shortcut for politicians, but also this will destroy their reputation and future once they get caught. If they just consistent on their investment, then have those ideas on which could save real time problem or something useful to people. By that they can slowly built their wealth in ethical way. Although the path maybe comes slower, but still good option to take rather than pursuing risky route then they end up in handcuffs.

OP absolutely right, a person can lead a normal life by working, but the money from a job is never enough to become rich. The first 20 days of the month can be well spent with the salary of the job, but the remaining 10 days become very difficult for him, in the present time it is possible to lead a normal life with the money from the job, but getting rich is only a dream, it is never possible in reality. As you said, to become rich, it is very important to do business according to one's own skills, there are many people in the society who work, along with this, they are associated with various businesses through which they are earning a lot of money and are among the rich people of the society, they are not rich only with the money from the job, they have become rich mainly by doing business.

I think the term ''very rich'' is quite an exaggeration. We need to get rich first before going into the next level, that could lead to becoming very rich and wealthy.
However, stealing and corruption are not the only means to get rich in life, but they could be the easiest and effortless ways. But if these politicians and government workers really intend to get rich on their own, then they have to be more open to the different opportunities in their lives. With strong connection, they can easily attract big business and huge investments. And with high compensation, they can regularly sustain their high end investments and eventually diversify, until they no longer focus on a single business or investment because they can have more than that.
If they let their money work for them, they can really get rich in time. Of course, with high consistency and strict financial discipline.

I don’t know how it is in other countries. But no denying that in my country, being a politician is an incredibly lucrative gig. One can multiply one’s wealth many times over in just a few years, sometimes even outperforming major businesses. As for whether or not they are corrupt, well, that depends on how the authorities handle investigations. We, as ordinary citizens, can see the reality: given their salaries and allowances. But, their lifestyles are incredibly hedonistic. Yet their wealth balloons massively in such a short time. We can draw our own conclusions. But unfortunately, we cannot press charges, let alone prove anything. Instead of being a genius at scheming for ways to cheat I believe that any employees that wants to become rich should think outside the box, learn relevant skills, think big, meet the right contacts and seize opportunities to have breakthroughs in business and investments circles. Many rich people comes from humble backgrounds before they had their breakthroughs, it should be a motivation that becoming rich is possible.
In the current economic condition, assuming business is proceeding normally and there are no unusual external factors, a business that was once bustling but begins to face stiff competition will encounter serious challenges. In fact, many businesses eventually fold after a few years because they cannot cover their losses or simply fail to grow. Yet, there are some businesses, whether coffee shops, F&B outlets, or other types, that achieve great success despite appearing very quiet. The number of customers on any given day might be countable on one hand. Nevertheless, these businesses manage to survive for years and record substantial profits. We might well wonder whether this is normal or not. But I do not say all are like this. there must be honest and successful politician and businessman in this world.

To be honest, I hate the idea that people only enter politics so they can have an easy access to the government funds and steal them. Yes, they can eventually get rich with that no doubt, as they can steal millions or even billions of money under the table.
But let's be realistic, even without these means, getting rich can still be possible. That is, if they are active with different potential investments. And if they are responsible enough to make them work, and put the right people into it so that stealing and corruption of their sales and profits will be highly avoided.

Can workers and politicians become very rich without stealing and being corrupt
"Very Rich" has too much emphasis, so I don't think it is possible. In fact, majority of what people earn from their daily jobs is practically meant for survival, and not something to make plans/Investment with. A life of comfort,.or slightly within the average range, is most likely what these jobs (government and daily jobs) are meant to offer. Unlike sport related jobs and a very few that still falls under the salary-based Jobs, the others clearly have nothing to do with living rich. Even in sport related Jobs, Investments is still required in order to retain those wealth for a longer period especially when the money stops coming in (after retirement). At the end of the day, personal investments and businesses can actually build a decent wealthy status for most people, because it takes a lot of effort to become rich, which makes majority of the regular jobs and being a politician not an ideal way to become rich.

Politicians and public workers don’t steal because they are exposed to money, but they steal because the system is faulty. When a system is faulty, people can do whatever they like because they know there are no consequences, or even if there is an action taken for their actions, it won’t be very severe, so they go ahead and do whatever they want.
If there are laws against politicians who steal money, you will hardly see politicians stealing. In a corrupt system, everyone does things just the way they want and tries to take advantage of funds because they know they won’t be held accountable for it.

All politicians in my country became rich. Check their backgrounds, if they're not from a rich family or has that history of politics and came from humble beginnings. It's very likely that they have became rich through politics. Serving others can make you rich unless you're a corrupt person. Even you receive gifts from businessmen or whoever they are, it shouldn't make a difference because politicians and government workers here have that policy of "no gifts allowed". Because that's where the corruption and comfort starts. It's become a meme to our country that if you like to be rich, be a politician.

It is, in principle, possible to get rich thanks to one’s entrepreneurial abilities, and such cases do exist. However, this must be facilitated by a unique combination of circumstances, favorable business development conditions in the country, and other factors (albeit random ones). This explains why only a small proportion of entrepreneurs achieve significant success. As a rule, the path to wealth lies not through entrepreneurship, but rather through corruption and theft from the state budget. Or through using one’s official position to gain insider advantages.
I sometimes read a business channel that features interviews and stories from all sorts of entrepreneurs. Moreover, the channel’s owner has been talking to them for several years. And many of them have gone bankrupt in the past few years. Some have closed their businesses and ended up with debts. Their businesses were all different: manufacturing scratching posts for cats; cold‑pressing oil from various grains and nuts; self‑service car washes and car repair services, etc.
Corruption is a much more reliable source of income. Even after serving a (small) prison term, a small fine, or even confiscation, a corrupt official can enjoy the part of the wealth that he managed to hide (the average entrepreneur is unlikely to earn such amounts in several lifetimes).
