I want to believe we all can agree that money is not the only thing that can open doors for someone. Sometimes a person can get a job, business deal or any just because someone trusted them enough to recommend them. In that way reputation can have real value even though you can not put that in a bank account.

Reputation is Interesting because it doesn’t only seem on what you personally do, sometimes another person action affect how people see you. If you repeatedly recommend people who turn out to be dishonest or careless, people eventually may start questioning your own judgment.

We often talk about money, education, skill and connection when discussing what gives someone an advantage in the society but where does reputation fit into all this?

Can being known as someone whose word can be trusted be a form of social or economic wealth?

And if losing that trust, can people lose opportunity, relationships or influence, does that make reputation  just as important as the things we normally consider valuable?

Human resources is the greatest form of wealth you can have. If you've got the required connection, then it's not only your reputation that's opening the door, but it's been merged with that if the person recommending you and let's not forget that some people spend a lot to get that recommendation that you'll get effortlessly if you've the human resource. Connections bring money, it opens doors to get more money. I've experienced it first-hand getting jobs even when I'm the least qualified, but because I've a friend who is an insider in the organization whose reputation speaks for me from the inside and he can only do that because I've demonstrated great integrity towards him and he trusts me to deliver accordingly.

Whether or not reputation is a form of wealth depends on whether it is validly earned or unearned. Unearned reputation is a rampant problem in today's world, especially in governments who are automatically given faith without having earned it, and in fact they have outright abused populations in most cases, making their false positive reputation a curse on society rather than wealth.

For example, if a business person has been doing business with people in the area for plenty of months and every person knows him to be a honest person who is nice and keeps to his word, it will be very easy to trust and even recommend that kind of person to someone that you know.

The honest businessman will be getting lots of jobs and appointments and he not even know that it is his reputation that is making people to trust him with jobs. This is how powerful reputation is.

In real life, person may not be able to withdraw reputation like money in the bank, but it is worth more than money.  Person can loose money and get it back after some day and month, but if person loose their reputation. It will be very hard to get it back. This is why it is always good to to good and honest everyday of your life. Respect people and treat them right.

In many establishments especially the ones especially the ones that involves the constant flow of money, reputation is considered a form of wealth. I've gotten access to opportunities I know couldn't afford with just money. When you're known to be an individual with that's very fidel and keeps their word at all times, you can be easily recommended to do highly profitable businesses.

Reputation Isn't entirely wealth because it doesn't mean that you will become rich if you are a reputable person but however is an important quality that would always distinguished you from people wherever you are and at the same time favour could also locate you, however I want to use this case to share an experience, their was someone I no who drives taxi, there was a day a passenger left his wallet on his car and inside there was some money and bank card of the passenger including other things and the driver had every chance to take everything but he chose to go back to return it and at the end because of his principle his life change through the help of the passenger so actually this are the favours that could be attracted by being honest and is also the same in business because without reputation your business will be unstable and unrecommended by people.

Wealth as we know it are tangible assets that the owner can liquidate into cash to spend or diversify into businesses or investments which continues to be wealth for the owner, if something cannot be liquidated into money it wouldn't be called wealth in the actual sense of it. But reputation and integrity can be called indirect wealth in my definition in the sense that it can open doors of recommendations and success which can increase actual wealth, without reputation and integrity lack of trust would set in and can gradually decline wealth on the long run. If word goes out that a wealthy person is shady it would affect their work and business relationships which would lead to gradual liquidation of their assets inorder to survive and on the long run due to sufficient lack of trust the weath would gradually start to diminish.

Do not get attached to your reputation, not even in the slightest way because it can be jeopardise in a split second. An healthy mindset is also something to be considered wealth.

A well-built reputation is not something that can tarnished or jeopardize with just mere words or accusations. When you live by a certain standard, there are certain things that people would never believe you did even when you are wrongfully accused. Reputation is just as valuable as money, it is what brings the trust, connections and many other benefits. You would not expect someone to do business with a person who is not trustworthy in his endeavors no matter how much money he has, reputation is something that money cannot buy.

I think the reputation is very important, and it is considered a form of wealth, but it is different from financial wealth. Money open doors to success that can help you to buy different things including goods and services. Whereas reputation create opportunities for you which is the kind of social capital. If people have this thinking about you that you are honest, you keep your promises and your honest in dealings then they can trust you they trust your character. But if someone has bad reputation, then people start questioning their character they demand guarantee for them and sometimes the avoid dealing with them.
It is also true that reputation is very much affected by the people that we deal. If you continue on recommending people who are not trustworthy they damage their credibility then because of that people can start questioning your reputation.  That is the main reason that reputation take a lot of years to build but only seconds to be destroyed by a single mistake.

A reputed person is substantially different from an ordinary citizen you can randomly see around you, the influence the starts to create and the impact they made are of high value and this alone serves as an asset even to them, the society knows how this decided on whom to give honor to in this regard, being repeated is not by a request but what you are made up of that has been seeing in you by others who have benefited in one way or the other through your core values.

A good reputation can be considered a form of wealth because just like money your reputation has the power to put you in the right path and even connect you to the right people through recommendations, a good reputation is a good name and if you are someone that is interested in being wealthy then you need to start by having a clean reputation though it may be different from physical money but reputation keeps your path your getting wealthy clean and most times it makes it easier for recommendations and puts you on the spot for recognition.

But in a strict financial sense, wealth usually refers to what is left after deducting liabilities from the value of our financial and non-financial assets. The reason is that, as you know, reputation does not have a fixed market value like money in the bank, land or any other asset. Of course, you cannot sell it for cash when you need it. But it is not right that reputation has no economic value. Social capital includes human relationships, trust and communication from which we can benefit professionally and financially. Reputation is an asset but may be classified as emotional asset, because it takes time and effort to build just like the physical asset takes time to build. People often overlook reputation when talking about asset, but trust/reputation you build can even be the best asset you will ever have when all physical asset has failed you. reputation can lift you when you have fallen. Let's say a person that has a good reputation may not need to stress himself when he need help from others. You may be broke now but due to your reputation you can get whatever you want from your business coleque. I know of one man who lost everything he had but those who trust him lend him a huge amount of money to start up again, believing he will pay back when he get back to his feet, this means trust and is gotten by reputation.

It is better you lose a physical asset than lose your reputation, because if reverse is the case then you may find it difficult to grew or rise when you fall, because many people who fall an never rise again was as a result of broken promises they made when they where up. Now when life turned upsidedown they are looking for ways to buy the heart of men when their real identity has been unveiled.
