I agree that nobody can learn all the forum rules at once, especially when they are new here. I think the best approach is to read the rules of each board before posting and learn from mistakes along the way. Staying active and observing how experienced members contribute can also help a lot. Even after being here for some time, there is always something new to learn.
I'm talking about experience here in the beginning, - I just go around the community - read a lot didn't post early - when I'm confident enough then that is the time that I reply - share some news that might help So it's not always that you need to understand everything. You just have to play in the community and just like in real life, be a good and then follow the rules and etiquette.

Some shoot themselves in the foot by plagiarising and posting AI generated ideas just to impress people for merits. Isn't it surprising that these newbies know more about the merit system and how to grow their accounts and start earning, than they know about even the most basic forum rules?

Maybe we should rather encourage newbies to first observe the forum before starting to create threads to announce themselves. How are they comfortable creating threads and joining discussions when they do not know the rules yet? You are right that they cannot know everything at once, but misleading the public or putting other users here at risk simply because they are newbies should not tolerated. Whenever we have time to interact with newbies, we should not fail to remind them to go through the forum rules because there are penalties for breaking the rules.
Some newbies were invited to the forum for whatever reason by someone who already knows their way around, after much explanation and direction, newbies like that can actually express themselves better in the forum, become familiar with the rules and how to use the forum, and how to navigate the forum which is a major concern for most beginners joining the forum, right board to post and ways to quote without spamming.

One thing I have observed is that some people that come to this forum, came through someone that is already earning from this forum. Those of their friends that introduced them to this forum has already told them how to get to a point that you’ll be earning. This there friends are the ones that explained the merit system to them and how to get merit. When they come to the forum, they are no longer interested in learning anything. They just want to grow very fast so they can start earning from the forum and this is actually the reason for their behavior. Some of them already knew everything about the forum because those that introduced them to this forum had already told them everything they need to know, all they are interested in when they come to the forum is how to get merit and grow their account.

That means their friends didn't explain the most important things before introducing them to the forum. As people who had already been here before others, what we explain to beginners is the kind of mindset they will develop. When we tell our friends about the merit system and how to earn merit, truth be told, that will be their only goal in the forum. Telling friends about the merit system and how to earn merits in the forum will not do them any good; rather, it's better to explain to them that the forum is where we talk about cryptocurrency and also learn from each other. After that, you explain the rules to them. If they are still interested, then you can bring them to the forum. Reasons why genuine beginners make mistakes on the forum, and why they don't grow to a higher rank, are that those who brought them to the forum didn't explain things to them the right way, and the beginners also did not bother to do their own research. As a beginner, even though someone introduces you to the forum, you also need to do some research to know the rules before doing any other things, so you won't make little errors or start creating unnecessary threads.

Ignorance is not an excuse for someone who break the law of this forum to go scot free without being punished for it. If you are lucky for not breaking this forum rules when you newly joined this forum another newbie cannot be as lucky as you were and the newbie may break one of this forum rule, and if the members giving the power to punish anyone who breaks this forum rules find out, the newbie will be punish whether he/she knows all the forum rules or not. So instead of you to be saying newbies should not be punished for breaking some simple rules of this forum it will not help them rather you should use this same energy to call on newbies to learn the rules of this forum immediately they found themselves in this forum it will help them learn fast and avoid breaking this forum rules.

We shouldn’t be too harsh on newbies for breaking some simple rules in this forum because some of them actually broke the rule out of ignorance.
I agree, new users are often confused due to a lack of knowledge when they first join, they also don't know where to start. Encouraged to observe the forum first, they can immediately read the rules. This allows them to take their first step with a sense of security and comfort. Actions that harm or mislead other users must continue to be dealt with firmly. Ignorance cannot be used as an excuse, as users are informed of the rules "what is permitted and what is prohibited" upon joining. Newcomers require active guidance to avoid errors when posting and to overcome any fear of engaging in discussions with senior members, this helps them feel accepted and makes it much easier for them to settle in.

It should be an added advantage for a newbie who was introduced here by someone who already knows alot about this forum. The rules of these forum should be one of the most important things they must have been told. If a newbie who claims that he was introduced here by a friend or family still goes against the rules, it shows that he has other motives here and doesn't care much about the rules. One thing I have observed is that some people that come to this forum, came through someone that is already earning from this forum.
That is the problem. Their friends are corrupting their minds with the idea of making money here. No real lessons on how to help this forum.

~ In the contrary, forum rules are indeed enforced with great respect especially to spams. There are other forum users here that help the admins in determining which posts are spams and scams that also trigger an instant report and delete button from the admins once proven to be of such.
Also if you feel like the forum rules are not that enforced, it is miles better to just observe them because it can potentially be reported in the future should it be enforced one way or another.
Spam is tolerated here to a certain level and this is not surprising because internet is filled with spam so we can only remove them when it starts affecting the discussion or providing very misleading information and someone took time to report them. For example gambling boards is most spam and repetitive contents which everyone will agree but it stays in that way for some reason. I do report some posts that are blatant spams where I post regularly other than that I just ignore them.

There definitely would be crop of spammers who don't give a damn thought about the platform rules. We should know that when it comes to public matters as such in this case, people do ignore some aspects of forum policy to do whatever they want and seeing that, they are everywhere and they can be easily spotted and cautioned to do the right thing.

There are many users who don’t know or understand anything about the forum but they have been using Bitcoin for many years and understand all the details of Bitcoin. They can easily give good responses to topics on the forum. These days the biggest mistake new users make is posting AI generated content which causes many accounts to get tagged by DT. But those who know Bitcoin well don’t post this generated content and they can gradually grow their accounts by learning forum rules. That’s why I say, to do something good on the forum read Bitcoin related threads gain knowledge then come to the forum and start posting. And gradually learn the forum rules.

When I went through OP post and read through and from the replies I have seen, I think this is rage bait to see people reaction. Mostly, if a user comes to this forum and start claiming things that are extraordinary about Bitcoin, there is likelihood that he was introduced here and he is brief about the basic rules, it makes no sense that such person will now claim he doesn't know about the rules and regulations of the forum, it doesn't add up to the story. Let's even drop the Bitcoin unofficial rules one side, you can't go to any online forums without seeing their rules. Before coming to this forum, I have used several forums but not Bitcoin related and the rules are sent you immediately you register on the forum, this is too warn you before you start what you can't finish, the moderators are active to justify your actions, the forum is so big for this kind of mini ignorance.

We have several pinned unofficial rules that, in my opinion, should pique the interest of newbies since they were on the edge of the beginner/help section, so I don't think encouraging newbies to first observe this forum before creating a thread or joining a conversation is the issue. I think the problem is taking their time to read. @Callido Since everyone comes from different places and some people don't understand English, not every newbie will still have the opportunity to express themselves or be familiar with the forum rules and how to use it correctly. I recall some individuals using this forum to have problems on this forum.

They are firstly not newbies, secondly they either knew well about the forum so that they knew how to ask questions that can easily get merit from forum members like a warm welcome to newbies. Mostly they belong to such categories and very few actual newbies are lazy with reading, just asking. Genuine newbies when join anything, will take time to search, read and learn before asking, and as said many times, there are enough pinned topics to read. Such pinned threads are sticky, so they're very easily seen and the remaining challenge is whether actual newbies are ready to read or not. [Bitcointalk sticky threads] Newbies - read before starting.[LIST] Sticky threads for newbies - Read before starting. With pinned threads, newbies get most of fundamental things they need for learning.

This is exactly how newbies should behave. Right now, it is just as if every newbie is fighting hard to get noticed. First day in the forum, they've already created a thread announcing that they exist. Some shoot themselves in the foot by plagiarising and posting AI generated ideas just to impress people for merits. Isn't it surprising that these newbies know more about the merit system and how to grow their accounts and start earning, than they know about even the most basic forum rules?

But don't be surprised when a newbie account is over doing to get noticed, some of them are not actual newbies but an experienced forum user hiding behind a newbie account. I agree with you. I remember when I joined this forum in 2014, the situation was different. Members joined this forum because they were really interested in the bitcoin story and wanted to know more. There was spam back then, but I think we had better discussions and a lot more activity than now. On my local forum in Croatia, we even organized a live meeting at a local restaurant, where we met and had a great time. Now there are no such things on this forum, and new members already ask questions on how to make money on this forum and how to get rewards in their first post. I have to admit that I miss those “old forum days” because this forum has turned into something that was not its original purpose, a “money-making machine”. As for the forum rules, I think they are common sense and logical and everyone knows that spam, plagiarism, insults, etc. are not allowed, just like in real life, outside the forum. It's really funny when someone claims they didn't know about these rules because they are general rules that apply everywhere.

Yes, it is definitely important to know the basic rules of this forum, because if you make a mistake in this forum, you will have to be punished for that mistake. So if you can keep yourself away from copy-pasting, stealing other people's information, transaction warnings, and bad postings, you will definitely be able to move forward correctly. And there are more unique things that you can learn from spending time on this forum for a long time while surviving on your own. So it is most important for each person to gain knowledge about these basic things, so it is most important to know about the posts pinned on each board.
These things you just mentioned are very important for every beginner to know, there are a rules that if you don’t follow in this forum, you will be punished, most newbies that join the forum don’t know anything about the rules, some of them are introduced to the forum without telling them about the rules, and instead asking questions, they will not, because they think people will see them as people who don’t know anything about the forum or no understand it before joining the forum. Although some newbies know the rules, but they did certain things to rank up and participate in campaign, which is not what every beginner should do, you must know the forum rules, understand why you are here for, read carefully, and follow the instructions so that even when you rank up you can participate in a campaign.

We shouldn’t be too harsh on newbies for breaking some simple rules in this forum because some of them actually broke the rule out of ignorance.
The forum and its members have never been harsh to genuine newbies who broke some rules by mistake but if those newbies are alt accounts of scammers then it makes no sense to let such people pollute the forum. Again, the newbies who only join the forum to spread malware or promoted sites with spamming also deserve to get harsh treatment for such acts. There're newbies who gain trust and merits in short time here because they want to learn about Bitcoin, about this forum, and they don't spam or do anything that's against ethics or against the rules of the forum. I think the better advice for newbies is to learn about the rules of the forum to not repeat the mistakes that other did in past. I know one can't learn all rules of the forum within short time but when they become active on this forum and also try to read the rules of the forum at least once per day in start or at least once per week then they'll most probably not break the rules and overtime they'll gain merits and their ranks also get higher.

Merely explaining and directing someone on how to navigate the forum isn’t enough to give one the knowledge they need to fully understand how the forum works. Yes it’ll give them a good head start but it’s still not enough, there’s merely so much they can do with that information, that’s why it’s crucial for every newbie to first of focus on taking their time to get familiar with the forum, the rules and everything there is to know on their own, maybe ask questions where they need or have to, but not completely relying in what they were told by their predecessors.

New members should definitely make an effort to read the rules, but expecting someone to understand every detail before making their first few posts can also discourage genuine participation. Learning from mistakes and corrections is part of becoming familiar with the forum.
I agree with this. When I first joined, it was easy to feel like I had to understand everything before making a post. But with time, you start to understand how things work. I think the important thing is to read the rules, avoid repeating the same mistakes, and learn along the way. Even older members can still learn something new about the forum.
There is this saying that learning is a gradual process, so no one is expected to know everything at once, most especially when you're new to something. Reading rules on this platform is very important, but when a person makes some little mistakes and take corrections, that can also teach them somethings that you may not have understood from just reading the rules. What matters more is that you are willing to learn from your mistakes and try your best not to repeat them. The more you keep participating on discussions and gain more experience, you will naturally get more familiar with how the forum truly operates. The big names that we respect so much on the forum today didn't become experts from their first post. They also made mistakes, learned from them and improved along the way.
