Did you report the topic but the moderator did not do anything about it? This thread is not necessary at all unless you are reporting topics to the moderator on the gambling board and they are not handling it.

If you did not report it to moderator but you just come to Meta to post this, it is highly not necessary. Use the report to moderator instead.

Reporting the thread and asking a moderator to move it to the appropriate board, or simply reporting that "the topic is off topic for the gambling board" should be enough and is really just common sense.

There's no need to open a separate thread just to ask for opinions or start another discussion about it. Mods are pretty good doing their jobs. Kodus to them.

What's more annoying is coming here to create a thread that looks like seeking validation When you would've reported it to the moderator. I've reported some threads myself and the mod either deleted it or sent it to off-topic. I'll advise you to lock and discontinue this thread, it's more of attention seeking than making any real sense.

It would've been better if you reported the topics and the mods did nothing, then it would be justified that you are calling them out for their slow or no actions towards your reports.

OP you did right but following due process would have been more better than starting up a thread first just like the other two members pointed out, well I still recommend what you did because the way and manner members open irrelevant thread is becoming too much, there are thread that are appearing more than ones but they are still active in the gambling section just like having 2 premier league thread that are saying similar things in one board, no wonder they call that section a place for spamming even when we have good posters.

OP the thread you mentioned have been moved to off topic and there’s no need reposting more post in this your thread, like other members have said, when ever you see a post you feel should be deleted or moved to off topic just repost to mod, and don’t do it this way by creating a thread just use the report button, I believe you can use it very well because you are an old member in this forum.

I will advise you lock this thread.

That wasn't the first nor the last topic to be opened by signature campaign users to increase their post count in the gambling section. They just have to reach the minimum requirements in the gambling board then they don't care anymore if the topic is displaced. Preferably not so they can reply more.
This is the consequences of the minimum posts requirements imposed by the signature campaigns.

Edit: By the way, in such topics you can find members and their alts or clans trading merits and doing some stuff to get around forums restrictions.

Yeah, such topics is quite frequent in gambling board. It's perfect place for sig spammers to increase their post count without even posting anything what is related with gambling. There is no other solution in fight against them than hitting report button.

And I'm just wondering why activity in such kind of topics drops almost to zero when it get moved to off-topic. Does it becomes not interesting anymore?

Whether we like it or not, the gambling board is filled with similar gibberish topics that either have nothing to do with actual gambling, are complete diarrhea, or are topics that can be covered in less than 20 replies, but everyone is reiterating the same thing over 20 pages long of posts. The cause is simple, high quotas in the gambling section from signature campaigns and/or bonuses for writing there.

Report topic and move on, moderation has already moved it to the off-topic, they can't keep track of every single shitty post that's erected in the forum, unless someone reports it.

Yes they aren't interesting anymore for them once the topic is moved outside of the gambling section. I saw this trend and analysed it in the past. I even suspect that an alt account, especially if the rank is newbie or junior member, is opening the topic so the main account and the clan/friends can post and increase their post count. I can't prove that easily unfortunately.

I’ve noticed too that the number of new posts in this section has decreased quite a bit, or is it just my impression!?
So, people prefers to create new and useless threads rather than get involved in other discussions that already is mature, where everything has already been said and they ca not form new opinions anymore without being repetitive. Then this kind of thing, completely meaningless and with no purpose at all, comes up.

Anyway... it is already moved to off-topic, so if you reported it, you did the right thing!

I guess the Purpose of this thread by Op is to bring what he saw gambling board to the attention of others for more talks, without realizing that too much talks don’t get the job done. He already knew what to do that will get the attention of who would have got the job done, without too much talks. But here we are.

I guess the Purpose of this thread by Op is to bring what he saw gambling board to the attention of others for more talks, without realizing that too much talks don’t get the job done. He already knew what to do that will get the attention of who would have got the job done, without too much talks. But here we are.

It may be that the op has been coming in contact with similar topics of this nature in the gambling board and felt tired of reporting it directly to the mod using the moderator report button, and thought to have used this particular topic to call on the attention of the community.

Either way, op aim may have been met with members sharing their opinions on the topic and having the topic moved to off topic by moderator.

Probably because of the signature bans, there is less activity. I’ve also noticed that topics are getting locked within a shorter time, especially if they are more generic. Most campaigns have a reasonable gambling post quota, but due to the massive size of certain campaigns that are being filled with alt accounts belonging to spammers, there is still way too much of all the negative things that have been brought up in this thread.

I'm going to be the contrarian here and give my unsolicited opinion that while this thread is indeed unnecessary, there must be some members who want to discuss the state of the gambling section, no?  OP was obviously ticked off enough to start this up and instead of people talking about dumb-ass threads or disagreeing with him that there are such, there's just repetition: You should just report it to the mods (and variations of that theme).

And yeah, I'm pretty sure all of us know why the two gambling sections are such magnets for shitposters and probably AI-driven nonsense; it's already been stated and thus need not be mentioned again.
