Most football fans follow the top European leagues. But Northern European football championships are also interesting in their own way.

I am not familiar with Northern European football championships. I am aware that some clubs from Sweden,  Denmark, Norway, and Finland participate in the UEFA Champions League if they qualify from the playoffs. Apart from Bodo/Glimt, I don't know much about these clubs. And I bet on teams or leagues that I am familiar with. The three top European leagues and other popular European competitions are my focus.

Finland: Veikkausliiga
Island: Besta deild karla

Most of these championships are held on a spring-autumn schedule due to weather conditions (only Denmark and the Faroe Islands use the autumn-spring schedule). Some teams are well-known to a wide range of fans for their participation in the Champions League, such as Bodo/Glimt.

If there are any fans of these championships, I suggest discussing the results of teams from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands in this thread.

I don't joke with most of the league mentioned above by the OP because allover the years when i started gambling, all my gambling was basically on any leagues that is related to England only and since them my winning has not been much and i have been experiencing losses in most of the time but the moment i complain a friend that do gamble too, he advice me to leave England leagues if i want to experience winning more and he introduced me to these Leagues and since then i have been making use of these Leagues mostly all the time and ever since then i have been witness winning from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and islands.

I think I already am betting on way too many different sports, and it's actually difficult to follow them all. I mean, sometimes it gets confusing which league I am betting on, which is why I think I will just stick to them rather than adding more.

Still, this is a good idea. Perhaps you can open a new thread that focuses on discussion and sharing bet slips of Northern European football leagues. Who knows? There may be some fans here who would also like to share their idea and their daily bets.

I have not bet on all the teams mentioned here so far, because I am not very familiar with them and cannot predict them well. However, I have bet on European teams, because I am familiar with them, enjoy their games and can sometimes make good predictions. That is why I bet on teams that I know and enjoy playing. Since I do not bet on teams that I cannot predict, especially in this World Cup, I bet on teams that I can predict well.

Nah! It's not my thing. I don't find their matches interesting though, I might be wrong but the fact is that, I don't have love for these leagues if not EPL and a few.

One thing that I understand is this, it's what you're used that you will always put your interest in. I have been watching EPL since, 20 years ago and I haven't found any interesting league as EPL. OP, I believe you are from this country or you just fell in love for their league.

I think the heat of the Northern leagues could not reach Europe due to the extreme cold, in fact I was a little amused. To be honest, I looked at the list from the beginning to the end but almost all the names of the teams in this league seemed unfamiliar to me. Maybe I don't follow their broadcasts but I think there are many here like me. But OP, you continue to work according to your plan. If there were a discussion here, the followers of this league would increase.

You're right, I usually feel bored while watching any match from this league. Not that I'm not familiar with the teams of course I'm familiar with them but not all just few of them and that's the ones i usually bet on. Whenever I'm making Prediction I used to visit each of those leagues and what I do is to pick those teams that look superior in those leagues and then add it up, even the ones I'm not familiar with. I don't like making Prediction in one particular league like premier league I only pick one or two from premier league and  after that I will visit other leagues as well to pick.

I don't really sit my ass to watch the league but they are like a golden ticket for odds accumulation. I don't follow the teams in a traditional sense, but the high scoring nature of teams like Allsvenskan makes them sweet for odds like both teams to score or Over 1.5. The bookmakers normally underestimate them so they offer generous odds and adding it to boost your slip is never a bad thing so you extract good value without needing to be a die-hard fan of the league to begin with.

You are not watching them and using them to add in your odds. That should be a risk. Without watching, how do you analyse the matches very well and add them in your accumulated odds? Though you can use research and live scores apps to make your analysis but watching them live gives more in-depth knowledge on the team. Though there are some teams are to increase the odds in the multiple bet. Try watch them to get more information on those teams.

The only country I have I have bet on their leagues before among the ones that you mentioned is Norway. I do not know much about the other ones, but probably I could have bet on one or two among them before long time ago. I do not bet like I was betting some years back after I am occupied with other things.

Any team or league I do not understand them very well I don't usually place bet on those clubs, instead I wouldn't mind going for those well known clubs where winning could be that easier for me than betting on those one I do not know about them.
Again, some of the local leagues are easily manipulated and could be easily to twist everything so easily in the favor of those who gets them higher offer to rig it.

Smaller leagues like this can be fun to follow up with and even the more easier to win bets on as you can easily, study the team and understand their advantages and disadvantages which give you a better chance to be able the predict the team performance in games, unlike in the European leagues where most clubs are more advanced.

I don't watch their games but I think I know almost all the teams in those leagues because I bet on them regularly. Some of the reasons why I bet on this league especially the Norway league is because they have a good ratio of goal scoring and almost all the games play out an over 2.5 goals, so it's always a good spot to select games for betting. Among all, I feel the Danish League is probably the one I have played the most bets on, teams like Copenhagen made me win some big cash a few years back when they were still in good form.

absolutely right, totals over 2.5 goals in the Norwegian championship are very common. although, many matches are offered with over 3 or 3.5 goals but even these often come through. the Icelandic championship is also famous for its high number of goals, although bookmakers may offer totals over 4 or 4.5 goals for some matches.

I used to bet on the Norwegian league quite a lot. I frequently placed bets on the number of goals scored, especially in their second division. I really liked the team Start; back when they were in the second division (around 2002–2003), they would both win matches and score plenty of goals.

There was also another team whose name I really liked. They used to concede a lot of goals and usually lost their matches—Mandalskameratane; it had a long name like that. I might have spelled the team's name incorrectly, though—my apologies if I did.

it's nice to see old-school fans of the Norwegian league. Start is currently playing in Eliteserien, although they are occupying the last spot. the team continues to play high-scoring games. I also remember Mandalskameratene but now they're not in Eliteserien or OBOS-ligaen (2nd division) meaning they're playing in the lower divisions.

I have always liked European competitions but only the major leagues have always been a concern because although there are some clubs I know in northern Europe like AIK and Malmo in Allsvenskan or Bodo who stole the show in the last 2 seasons for Eliteserien but it doesn't make my interest open to watching minor leagues in Europe.

There are only 5 domestic leagues in Europe that I always follow even then for Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga is only focused on a few clubs so in this case I think for a minor league like the OP mentioned it is difficult to bring up a lot of attention except for people who are in that environment.

Watching and focusing too much on the domestic leagues has me confused myself so much that the focus might just be on the big leagues which is always the attraction at UEFA for now.

When I was actively betting then, I was following up these leagues and they were interesting especially the Finland league. HJK Helsinki was my favorite club who always get winning and top the league so many times, you know every season comes with different club's forms and don't know if the club is still maintaining it's top positions in the league.

I was not familiar with the teams too but I got to know about them when some teams from that league were used to fill my bet compilation hence I had to watch the games in anticipation of the results and it was not boring to watch. Although the quality of football in the league can not be compared with the top leagues in Europe. There are many leagues outside of the top leagues if you want to make good money on betting on them instead of the top league that is not looking that exciting that much. But we should not put all our wagers on teams in this kind of leagues as we are not yet familiar with how they play until we watch them play repeatedly.

I don't watch small leagues but big leagues because I don't have the time. I'm cool with the big five leagues because I don't have even watch all the matches. I don't offen watch Ligue 1 and Bundesliga. I focus more on EPL, Laliga and Seria A. We all have our area of interest in football. I can only watch these teams if they make it to the Champions League group stage.

Actually people does not like to watch a small league...but i want you know that in betting..sometimes big leagues doesn't luckily give gamblers opportunity to win, why in smaller leagues, they're a lot of opportunities that make you to win...because most of the leagues there doesn't use a competent players, so their's every chances of winning there if you make a research and study their performance...that will give you the edge to predict most of them accurately....Most of the small leagues tournament, people dont know them that much, and that should be a reason some people do not like gamble with them sometimes.

I know of Bodo/Glimt in the Champions league and have bet on them losing to their opponents a few times during most of my bets, but not in this season though because the UCL is yet to commence.
As for betting on these European football championships teams during my bets, I may have picked one or two unknowingly because I bet anytime I feel like and it could fall during the start of their league season, not minding if the EPL or UCL is on.

this Champions League season people besides Bodo/Glimt might know about another Norwegian team Viking as they have a good chance of qualifying for the main tournament.

I do it quite often and I like to go with the flow of some of the matches. They have crazy results far more often in some of those leagues, matches ending like 5-4. It's not happening all the time though, but it is far more likely to detect a match in one of those leagues that goes that way. Especially in Finland and Sweden there are matches every now and then that have lots of goals.

Otherwise I don't know much about those leagues and I don't really watch any matches there. It is more about following them via bookmakers and then have an eye on high scoring matches.

Bodo/Glimt has caught some attention though in recent years due to their performances in the Champions League.

OP may want us to start discussing about the Northern European football championships, but I have this feeling that he wants to be sure people actually bet on or witch the football tournament before he or she decides whether to create a separate thread for it,  although I'm not if that is what OP actually had in mind, I'm just speculating.  However, OP can simply change the title of the thread to the Northern European football championships football thread instead of creating a new one, just my humble opinion.
