I didn’t really think about winning streaks this way, but now you mentioned it, It’s clearer why even with even more severe losses, gamblers are still pretty optimistic about winning huge, or replicating a one time huge win they had some time ago in the past. It depends on the gambler's ability to control their emotions and not on whether they are winning or losing. Some gamblers have a lot of self-control, so whether they are winning or losing constantly, they know when it's time to stop, but gamblers that aren't generally very patient or have any control over themselves, it doesn't matter whether they are winning or losing, they will just keep going. I think both winning and losing insist a person to take bigger and more risks especially in a long term winning it make a person overconfident the person thinks like market works whatever he/she wants without even realizing that luck play a big role in gambling. It's uncommon to see gamblers leave their wins on their account, if not for the fear of using the money recklessly, they withdraw it because of fear that casino might raise a problem later which will deny them their money. I don't like leaving winnings on my account, it's saves me the head of trying to use money I can't afford to lose which maybe too big for me to handle if I lose the bet I used the money for, they are better left with small money for the bet.
