Newbie Scam Promoting Fake SHIB Win & Burn Phishing Site

What happened:: This Newbie member, who registered his account just a few days ago, posted a thread sharing a free domain that he is using for his scheme, ending in netlify.app.

The website claims: "Win up to 100,000 USDT" and says: "Enter with 5 USDT for a chance to win a growing, publicly verifiable on-chain prize. Every valid entry adds 2 USDT to the prize and 0.25 USDT to the SHIB Burn Reserve."

He is basically luring people into connecting their wallets, interacting with this phishing domain, and paying 5 USDT to enter.

Update:

The topic this scammer made was removed in time, before it got much attention and potentially cause someone to trust him by mistake and get scammed by a phishing scam like this.

We all know there are many newcomers in this field every day and some of them may not have much experience to easily tell the legitimacy of these websites. Their greed or curiosity may make them try these sites. So, even if the scam is simple, talking about it and warning people about how scammers do this can still help many members here.

I already reported it to Netlify Support and am waiting for them to review it and take action against this phishing domain.

Indeed, this is similar to the phishing site I reported earlier but they are using a different phishing site with another meme coin, making the same airdrop promises and using the same wallet-connect button.

What’s worth noting is that if you check CMC, you can find the official website and all the official channels for the Cash Cat project and it is actually listed on CEX platforms as well.

I have no doubt that they will come back with more phishing sites, but this time using different trending projects just to deceive people and steal their funds.

It’s good for our community to stay alert and report these scammers and their schemes quickly to protect other members.

Nothing new; often we have been hearing about paying small amounts and getting big amounts. They are looking for greedy people who will fall into their trap. Connecting a wallet to such a phishing site would lead to draining the wallet. One of my friends lost it as well by connecting the wallet. The wallet was drained, but he wasn’t aware.

It's good to see the thread has been deleted and the scammer account has been nuked. Forum users should avoid such offers and phishing attempts, especially newbies. Don’t be greedy, and then you will be almost safe.
