The point isn't whether you should work hard or smart. Instead, know who you are, where you stand, what your advantages are and what you are lacking. Then make the most of what you have, work on your weak point and find a path that actually fit you.

Success is journey, not destination, and we all have to figure out our own formula. Don't just copy what other do because we are all different, and what work for them may not work for us.

There are people who got success because of hard work while there are also people who got success because of smart approach. Just like in college, we have students that are intelligent and they got good grades because of their intelligence and smart approach. Our end goal is to get success and for that we must work hard if we don't have a smart strategy or approach towards the work. It's in our interest to finalise the strategy as early as possible because that is essential to achieve our goals.

Is it possible work hard and not be successful?

Yes. working hard alone doesn't make you financially successful, it might help you with the survival but if you need to achieve financial independance then you need to work for on the right cause like if you work for someone then you will not make much progress but if you run your own business on the same field with the knowledge that you acquired over the years then it will be a good one for you but when you do that there are many other challenges that you need to conquer as well.

What I can say is that hard work can put food on your table but it is not enough to make you rich, to be rich you have to think beyond working hard because if you think smart and take advantage of the right opportunities you can earn in hours what your hard work cannot earn in one year. Many successful people don't struggle to make money with their physical strength, they find ways to own a business and let others do the hard work while they direct and manage the workers, if the business grows they will delegate management to qualified people and direct them. If you continue to depend on what your manual hardwork can pay you then it would be difficult for you to succeed beyond what your strength can carry but with smart strategies on how to make multiplied income you would think of how to partner and hire others so that you can generate more income than what you alone can work to achieve, that is how wealth is built.

Working hard can increase income but there is a fixed number of hours in a day. This is their skills networking on a ship, and also the ability to recognise the available opportunities around us plays an important role. Another thing is we cannot say that these successful people let other people do hard work for them at the start; they do a lot of hard work they still carry race can responsibilities of running a business. Selling their time and energy, they sell their valuable assets and build systems. Hard work helps to build a business through experience, skills and smart decisions help to use those skills efficiently and also to create more opportunities in order to grow.

Hard work and smart work are two different thing and they can't replace each other.
You can't succeed by just working hard without having the right approach, but you also won't get very far by working smart if you're not willing to put in the time and effort.

To succeed, you need both of those element plus many other. Hard work keep you moving forward, while smartwork keep you from wasting your time and effort on thing that don't work.

Some people may achieve success with just intelligence without hard work. But hard work is definitely necessary to maintain that success. Again, it is difficult to say that we will definitely succeed if we work hard.
