Trying to force a unified fiat currency across 50+ completely different economies is a recipe for a hyperinflation disaster. We already have a borderless, neutral currency they can trade with, Bitcoin. No central bank shitcoin needed to print it into oblivion.
And as for poverty in Africa, it is most certainly a management problem. History tells us that it is the colonialists' fault why Africans are poor, but what nobody likes to admit is that African leaders were amongst the most corrupt on Earth.
One day, bitcoin will most definitely be everyday money in all of Africa no doubts but nobody is telling Europe that the use of one fiat currency is the result of this and that. Bitcoin is sound money no doubts but, I still do not see having a currency backed by gold to be used by every African nation. It was attempted by Gaddafi, but we all know what happened, don't we? It is a mixture of both, both corrupt sell outs and African political representatives and the same time the west who still intends to steal from Africa through colonial caretakers and puppets ( neo-colonialism ). "Most corrupt" That's a laughable one honestly. Yes there is corruption and corrupt leaders but the west and Europe's assassination of genuinely good leaders in Africa and Pan Africans should not be overlooked. Fr fr, no one in the world has seen or done more corruption than those in the west headed by the United States.

Africa is a rich continent endowed with natural resources but from the onset Africa is set up to fail. Could it be the geographical location of Africa? Africa as a continent shouldn't be struggling because it has various types of mineral resources that can turn Africa to one of the strongest continent in the world. The population is huge, there is knowledge etc. But like i said earlier it was set up to fail by those who claim to have discovered Africa. If African leaders think outside the box then surely Africa will become one of the best. Imagine Africa as a continent is using one currency to trade amongst themselves.
Africa cannot be poor in terms of resources, mismanagement, corruption and looting of resources by Western countries are making Africa poor. Of course, the brokers of Western countries called Africans are helping Western countries. It would not be wrong to call them traitors, if the resources were used properly, then African countries could also develop like other developed countries. This is the situation of African countries today due to personal interests. Even in human development, those leaders have created complications, African countries are still far behind in terms of education quality and skill level. The main reason for this is that the people of African countries are being enslaved and their resources are being looted. The citizens of the country must be aware of the change in the situation and stand against this mismanagement, and even choosing competent leaders is an important aspect.

There are various countries in the African continent that are economically in the poverty line, especially the situation in Sudan is so bad that now they are living with death every day, lack of food, lack of water, lack of medicine. However, the question arises whether the various countries of the African continent are really poor or their countries have been made poor. However, due to some geographical location, the economy of the African continent is very bad. However, due to some mistakes of the government, a recession is observed in all these regions. Not providing people with technological facilities or not educating them and not using domestic resources properly are one of the main reasons for the economic distress of various countries in the southern African continent.

Africa is not a poor continent, each Africa countries has its own natural minerals resources and there are some countries with large and small natural mineral resources. The problem of Africans is bad leadership with poor management, African has all its takes to be among the richest countries in the world today, but due to selfish interest from the bad leaders Africa has become undeveloped continent. There was a Chinese man that I've worked with he told us that in their own country they thought everyone in my country is doing pretty well not until he came to Nigeria, according to him that was so blessed even our sand is useful for them to plant their crops, even said 20% of what they used in producing most of things we're using are from Nigeria but he's surprised by physical outlook of the the country, i was imagine if chines get 20% from Nigeria what about other Africa countries africa is not a poor continent is just the leadership.

I think each region and country can say how corrupt the system is, and the corruption for where we are right now are incomparable from the other nations where corruption is also rampant. I would say that each of us can tolerate a bit of corruption but that doesn't change the fact that it is still corruption whether it's on the lowest or highest level it remains as a corruption and that stops the development of a country.

Yes, There's no country in African you will not see a western country companies, especially mining companies, they the one contributing almost 89% why Africans is having undevelopmental setback, why western world will be blaming Africa for corruption, why they are the one that brought corruption in African, we shouldn't be discussing Africa because African is too wide to be discussed, discussing Africa like this, it looks as if we are discussing the economy of one particular country, no continent that is poor, and it's wrong to discusse a continent as if is a country .

The reason why African looks like it's poor and poor in managing natural resources is because African leaders have one mindset, which is to take what belong to the masses the money they get from the sell of natural resources, instead of them to use it and build infrastructure that will create more employment and better the lives of the people they are representing, they will use the money for themselves. In Africa you will see one powerful politician taking monthly allocation of a local government, tell me how Africa will become better if such a thing keep happening.

Africa is the richest continent but like you said it has been exploited by the white who claims to discover it, they took advantage of our forefathers lack of exposure and made them believe that the black race is nothing and they need to develop them, instead they keep steeling the natural resources and making them feel less important while the natural resources flew abroad. Now they have silence the people who are soposed to speak the truth and we remain in poverty. I am just ashamed and disappointed by our leaders who connive with this people to involve in taking bribe and selling our recourse to this people why we remain in outreach poverty. Now we pay money to go abroad just to work to make money, why we where never meant to suffer, and we are the reason for their development. We now pay money to ship in gadjet that could have been produced here in Africa and also would have been cheap. So in conclusion Africa is not poor but the richest continent when it comes to natural resources, wildlife and other natural things which can not be found in any other continent. Just that it is not managed properly that's why it's looks like we are poor when we are rich. Africa is very powerful that almost all continents depends on them for growth.

You are only blaming inventors. How long can colonial rulers or outside world be blamed? After so many decades of independence, the inefficiency of Africa's own leader, widespread corruption and civil war have become the continent's main obstacle. Africa is poor as well as rife with corruption. I would say that if corruption is not reduced then their development is impossible. Despite Africa's abundance of mineral resource, they could not become rich. They have created over dependence on oil & gold. As a result other industries have not developed, and so we see conflict instead of the proper use of resources. Imagine Africa as a continent is using one currency to trade amongst themselves.
Is it really realistic? We have seen European Union fall into economic disarray even with the use of single euro. You may notice that the size of the economy, inflation or infrastructure of each country in Africa are completely different. Therefore, bringing a single currency in such situation will push the economy of continent to verge of destruction.

Well, African leaders lack effective managerial tools and skills, and that is part of things that is depriving the growth and development of the Africa nations or countries. Africa is actually not poor, but our major problem is bad governance. The government of all the countries within Africa can come together or collaborate to prevent our great nations from collapsing. The endurance of the citizens doesn't mean that they are happy with the things that are happening presently, but the problem is that they have become voiceless and powerless, especially in the country where their opinions doesn't count and their cries are being ignored.

Africa is not poor as it is being described on social media and most of these westerners know this, the only problem that we are facing as a continent is having bad leaders that just want to enrich themselves, they don't care about economic growth or doing what they can to make their country great they only fund their needs and not the country. The leaders are the ones that are poor In managing resources and not the citizens but I believe that with time Africa is going to get Better, we just have to speak up on what goes in in our countries and expect change.

It is ridiculous even for you, who may be an African, that doctrine should not be in your mind, but it is also interesting because it may be a form of consciousness in your brain in realizing a sentence that should no longer confine you all to feudal thinking, or an intentional logic in the form of resignation to the conditions that afflict you there. There is no place or group or region that is destined to experience bad conditions, if it exists is a form of injustice in my view, the simple answer in the teachings I once received "a group will not change unless they change it themselves" broadly speaking you have to get up, the first thing in the national movement is to improve education, because an educated person will definitely have knowledge, whether he makes a solid economic and political system or makes new innovations for the development of technology, that's what should have been raised earlier. IMO

Just that it is not managed properly that's why it's looks like we are poor when we are rich. Africa is very powerful that almost all continents depends on them for growth. This is really more true in 2026 than at any time before. The green energy transition that the whole west is trying to get through? It is cobalt, lithium, copper, manganese based. The majority of that is in African ground. Yes, dependency does not exist and it works both ways now. That is a new form of leverage and some governments are finally leveraging it. This year, Zimbabwe has closed its doors to raw lithium exports. Namibia same direction. That is the right thing to do for the economy. Nevertheless, you present the issue here narrowly as something being done to Africa. Yes, the history is hard and straight. But what about the fact that Africa's manufacturing output is still below 2% of global total? That is something foreigners cannot explain anymore. Infrastructure, energy, intra-African trade all remain faulty, not only due to the colonial design. It is not always a good thing to cure them for the people who have the power at the moment. The AfCFTA exists. The legal framework for African countries trading with each other without going through European ports exists. The desire to use it on a large scale is inconsistent. And that is an internal governance question not a colonial one. It is possible for both to be true.

Africa was never a poor continent, but many Africans live in poverty, in terms of natural resources Africa is the richest continent, but many Africa countries remain poor because of corruption, weak institutions, limited industrialization, dept, and the long lasting effects of colonialism. Nigeria was supposed to stand out, but because of how corrupt its leaders are and country's economic challenges it has not been able to break out of poverty, Africans can do better, but corruption won't allow them grow.

I do agree with this that Africa was not poor because of what we have, but with this also having just this resources only is not enough. The most important part is that how this resource are going to be manage and what value we can create from then. Given example of us exporting raw materials and having to import finished products at a higher price, this will allow us to continue struggling even with our resources. Real development will start if Africa focus on infrastructure, processing of our own resources and local industries.

Africa as a continent is not a poor continent, it is a continent God has blessed with a lot of Natural resources, their biggest problem is civilization, we are still being controlled by our colonial masters, some African countries don’t have a say when it comes to how they run their natural resources because they still submit to their masters despite being given so called independent. Until our leaders stop acting like slaves, we will not look rich until we run our economy in our own and we solely not depend on them to sell or manage our natural resources before we can because become rich and free continents. Some African counties also have good natural resources, but poor governance is their major concern, they tends to be selfish and know only themselves and their family, and that is the reason why we will remain poor as continent.

Corruption at the highest level and corruption at the lowest level are all corruption. Nothing justifies one being better than the other. African leaders and the European leaders are all corrupt. It's just that African leaders don't mind if corruption leaves the country economically poor. When there are a few wealthy men and many poor men, the country is generally poor. The European leaders know how to distribute wealth across the other elites and to whom deserves to be wealthy based on their economic impact. In Africa, monopoly is the order of the day. An African wealthy man will prefer to take over the market all for himself. Instead of starting another branch that will accept partners. For example, OPay and Palmpay are big financial tech companies in West Africa, Nigeria. Yet the company wants to expand but has chosen to list on foreign exchanges, willing to grant Hong Kong access to its market instead of Nigerian investors.

Africa is not set up to fail For a country like mine, the first step to economic boom is a national reorientation. Currently, there is already the mentality of leadership offices is to enrich one’s self, pay back or compensate godfathers and what have you. Even the anti corruption agencies have bad eggs fighting the aim of the organization from within and stifling their activities that they are almost powerless in making any change. The citizens keep voting bad leaders because they believe that better the devil you know than the one you don’t and so they settle for the bad and corrupt politicians. Which in turn appoint incompetent people not on merit and destroys the economy further .

IMO
I see the reason he said that African countries are designed to fail. Colonial powers didn't consider the cultural and religious beliefs of different African tribes before creating countries. When you bring different tribes together, there will always be conflict. Most of the civil wars and conflict we face in Africa have religious or tribal undertones. Some tribes wouldn't have been brought together into a country. All hope is not lost. African countries need sincere and strong leaders. Leaders that are detribalised and have no religious affiliations. The Chinese leadership and economic style will be appropriate. Good leaders would invest in education, and citizens will become productive.

You know the Africa of today cannot be detached from Africa of yesterday. Our history as a continent has shown more disadvantages and injustices to the continent than anything. Africa is not a poor continent but a continent which has been continually suffering from suppression and impoverishment for centuries. I can say the western world had more privileges of gaining or accepting earlier civilizations than we do not because they were the earliest civilizations like the Mesopotamia but they were able to embrace the civilization early enough and now used it for their survival thereby preying on or taking advantage of the continent, this was what led to the imperialism era, the slave trade era , the colonization and the neocolonialism we still facing today. These guys were able to penetrate the continent and balkanized Africa without even seeking for our opinion up to where we are today which successfully led to the impoverishment of the continent through continued exploitations we have been facing ever since.
