A bit late on this, but not too late. BitMart published a new announcement on its Important Announcement > Official Announcement page on August 21, 2026, stating that it may consider a business resumption plan. According to the same announcement, BitMart also stated that it may consider distributions to creditors along with resumption of some certain operation . I'm not yet sure who they consider to be creditors, though. If your assets are still stuck with BitMart, you may want to stay updated and keep an eye out for the next update, which is expected by September 9, 2026. Following further discussions with members of the community, our stakeholders and professional advisers, BitMart is developing a potential restructuring plan as an alternative to a full wind-down. The potential plan may include the phased resumption of certain operations in an orderly manner alongside distributions to creditors, subject to further legal, financial, operational and regulatory assessment. To support this process, BitMart has appointed White & Case as its restructuring counsel. White & Case will work alongside BitMart’s other professional advisers to evaluate the available options and assist in developing the potential restructuring plan, including any framework for the phased resumption of operations. A roadmap is currently being developed together with our advisers and we will endeavour to provide a further update by no later than 9 September 2026. [Read full by clicking the link] Further update can/will be shared here as well.

If I were a Bitmart user, then probably I wouldn't back them and would withdraw all of my funds. They somehow failed to operate their business, and they have been trying to resume their service. So I really don’t like risking my funds. This isn’t a kids' game; it’s related to the funds. That kind of drama won’t be appropriate for me at least. So far I am aware there is not much liquidity, so for me I don’t see a reason to go back to their platform.

Is it actually possible to withdraw funds or cryptocurrency from there? According to a thread in the Russian locale, all withdrawals are closed. On X, I've seen reports that while withdrawal requests are being accepted, many are subsequently rejected under the guise of anti-money laundering policies. Alternatively, they just remain pending indefinitely, making it impossible to receive the payout.

It is not possible to withdraw funds now from Bitmart, many of which were rejected due to the failure of the distribution carried out by Bitmart since a few days ago or since the announcement of the shutdown. Wait until they are back in operation if there is such an intention, but I doubt the withdrawal will be done smoothly since the community's trust in this exchange has been lost, it could be that Bitmart just keeps stalling.

He probably means that if he were a Bitmart user and they tried to resume operations, he would withdraw all the funds that were stuck in the exchange and never look back. I would definitely do the same. Once bitten, twice shy. Anyway, it could just be PR. to cool down the tension and potential lawsuits. Let's wait and see how it goes.

Yeah, I think so. Everything will probably be revealed with whatever update they are planning to deliver on September 9, but I guess they might just shift the date again to buy more time(very possible) They must have suffered some massive losses lately from the way I'm picturing the whole situation, because it doesn't really look like they had anything properly planned before the suspension and announcement. My guess is that they will only prioritize paying their big daddies, the major investors on the exchange or pay a few big fishes and let everyone else cry out for help. But that's a speculation anyway, watching closely to see what happens next. **** You've answered the question so there's no need comment on it

If they have begun formulating a plan for creditors, why are they accepting new requests. debt restructuring plan ought to involve settling assets and selling some of them to properly manage the debt schedule. anyone looking to deposit funds into BitMart is setting themselves up for a significant loss.

That's because it is just PR, they do not have any plans to distribute funds to creditors, because they do not have the funds in reserve anywhere. As everyone has probably guessed, they are simply buying time up until Septermber 9, 2026, and talks of restructuring is just bullshit. If they truly have intentions of solving every pending issue, they would have also mentioned payments of salaries owed to their staff, but there was no mention of that.

I haven’t followed up an anything concerning bitmart since I last heard they were going to shutdown. How comes some people still has their funds stuck in there and didn’t withdraw immediately after the viral news of them shutting down. If I were anyone that has my funds in there, I will first get my funds out and not use the exchange again. If they’re considering on resuming operations, I see no reason why they had to shut down the first time. Do they have some unfinished business that could cause them losing a lot if they shutdown abruptly? There is more to them wanting to resume operation partially and considering creditors.

Because restructuring doesn't mean sell eveything to cover creditors. The things Bitmart tries are nothing new in the normal economy, for example, you have a company that produces stuff, with debt equal 100 million, and it can pay back creditors 5 million a year but its total assets are just 20 million, by liquidating it you take an instant 80% hit, if you agree with it kto keep running you can do so and get 5% each year, and then decide to liquidate it in 5 or 1 or 10 years. There are plenty of positive examples that came out of bankruptcy and in this case specifically, there is not much value in the company other than the brand, which is damaged to the core, if the business is still profitable over the margin, the recovery would yield you there is no point shutting it down.

No. I've been waiting forever for my $50 to get processed. My guess is that they will only prioritize paying their big daddies, the major investors on the exchange or pay a few big fishes and let everyone else cry out for help. This will definitely not happen. If I were to place a bet, I'd reckon nobody will get their money back. Restructuring means you are effectively broke and have to start from zero, sell off assets, and give up control of the company to a new owner. Except Sheldon is definitely not broke, even if BitMart may seem to be right now.

And I agree, because when their company under go on restructuring phase, their priority provably change and they surely focus on survival rather think about doing refunds to those affected users. On what happen on Bitmart their financial obligation is so big and they might do full reset, rather than think about rescuing their reputation. Even if we say Sheldon have money, for sure he cannot cover the losses happened on his exchange. So expecting for possible refund is not going to happen for now. Its really unfortunate but this is seems to be the real situation happening now.

A few hours ago I saw a bitmart user's review video of the current state that all network withdrawal fees are $10 and up; they have 2 advantages in that way: - prevent small remaining funds from requesting withdrawal thereby reducing liability to creditors. - support liquidity gradually.
If users decide to leave bitmart despite their plans to retain some of the platform's features, users will choose the second option.

The thing is, Bitmart haven't yet filed for bankruptcy, they still expect their creditors to believe that they are not bankrupt and the delayed withdrawals and salaries are for some other reason. It is obviously bullshit, as if they have existing reserves to cover liabilities, they would not destroy their reputation while going down, especially now they have 'restructuring' plans, which is similar to what is applicable in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.

What would be the advantage of restructuring instead of simply winding down and starting under another name in their case? I can only see disadvantages in their strategy unless it comes down to costs and finance, particularly if they will never even let every body withdraw their money.

They might consider resuming their operations, but anyone who's in their right mind would definitely think twice before using that exchange again.. Even though they say they'll fix the problem and are ready to take responsibility, they've already failed completely, and there's no guarantee they won't fail a second time.. So I think they're done, and they won't be able to win back users' trust the way they had it before.

Bitmart staff plans to exit by January 2027. if they don't find a solution resuming operations they have already planned to close all operations. the amounts claimed by some users is close to half million (and totally the funds missing are over 10 millions of USD). It's really sad to see such issues with user funds

They cannot do that, because they can't wind down without paying their creditors what hey owe them. Restructuring can work as a stalling strategy, while they think of a way out of this, even though i can scarcely see any. if they don't find a solution resuming operations they have already planned to close all operations.
I am closely following the Bitmart situation and i am eager for September 9, 2026 to come. I cannot wait to see the 'further update' they promised to provide no later than the said date. It's really sad to see such issues with user funds Yeah, happens all the time with custodial services.

Those who are considering of using them are the ones who's still got funds left in there. Looking at that statement gives hope for those with huge funds left. But for the new users, I guess that they have to assume that it's not a lot of users will come to them when they have already decided about the closure of their business. Bitmart has to weigh this decision if they are serious but they can't beg for the trust of the users leaving them behind once they're able to withdraw the funds in them even if they lessen the withdrawal fees and give a lot of incentives per user.
