Bitmain officially unveiled its new mining 'monster' today at WDMS global 2026!
the new hydro miner achieves a hashrate of 600 th/s with an energy efficiency of just 8.9 j/t
what is immediately apparent from the images is the new hydro-cooling technology that Bitmain has developed for this model.

Grin and as usual, no price tag.
nothing for a small "home" Miner.

They want you to do the math,  600T x $25.5 = $15,300
BM knows that listing it as x dollars per Th is less shocking than showing the actual price.
Ja one *could* run it at home but I for one do not want to be losing 600T from a single miner going down...

I put 5 cents into the calculator and have no idea how to recoup the cost of this ASIC.

The ASIC will be launched mining  in November-December, and the halving is just around the corner. $15,300 is very expensive, and the miner will need an additional water cooling system.

what's remarkable:
the previous s23 hydro miner delivers 580 th/s at 5510 watt and 9.5 j/th
the new s23 xp hydro therefore delivers more hashrate while consuming less power (as is customary with all other new models)!
Bitcoin mining is thus approaching the mark of just 9 joules per terahash.

for comparison:

s9 → ~98 j/th
s19 Pro → ~30 j/th
s21 → ~17.5 j/th
s23 xp hydro → 8.9 j/th

The "XP" prefix on ANTMINER ASICs denotes that they are the most energy-efficient in the series. The ANTMINER S23 model was released first, followed by the ANTMINER S23 Pro, and the ANTMINER S23 XP is typically the last model in the lineup, unless the marketers come up with something new.

"sticking with (insert other coin name)" is a non-starter here.
Considering that this is a BITCOIN only area odds are folks here run only BTC miners. Some do dabble in altcoins as well but most here could care less about them. Please respect that and keep discussion of alts and their hw where it belongs - not here.

Wild machine. That 600 TH hydro is basically another league from what I was looking at.

I was waiting to see what Bitmain would drop at WDMS, but I needed Equihash (zec), not SHA-256, so I went the other way and grabbed an Antminer Z15 Pro instead. Paid around $6,300. At my power rate the return has been better than I expected, on my numbers I’m looking at payback in a few months if things hold.

Was tempted to sit on cash for something like this hydro… now I’m more inclined to just add a second Z15 Pro. Last I checked the place I used only had a handful left.

Anyone else skipping the new Bitcoin flagships and sticking with Equihash boxes for now?
A payback period of just a few months is characteristic of a mining pyramid scheme offering a 1.66% daily return. While miners sometimes get lucky and turn a profit, many lose money on such equipment when the altcoin's price drops. Bitcoin mining allows for payback calculations and forecasts, whereas the economics of mining new altcoins can change at any moment.
