I came across a strange scenario while making a transaction in a wallet, by sending out some amount of Bitcoin to a partner. It's been a while that I have been in this forum and have started my cryptocurrency journey.

Throughout my time here I can confidently say that my knowledge on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency have increased a lot, and have setup a good portfolio.

For the first time all this while, I came across a strange scenario which I have never experienced before. I was sending some amount of BTC and noticed my transaction hasn't being received by the sender even after the normal time it takes to process a transaction. I gave it time to process and later checked back my wallet to confirm if it's being successful and found out that the transaction is still on pending, even after the recipient already received it.

It's surprising and strange that I decided to bring it here for explanations, is there something wrong with the transaction? Will the pending transaction deliver to the receiver again? Will the transaction be reversed to my wallet? What can be done if such things happens? What is such transactions be called?

Since it's still pending on your end, it's not been received, he sees it in his address because to it has been broadcasted on the mempool. It's not in the address yet until a miner includes it in a block. It will be pending until confirmed or rejected.

Maybe the fee you set is low, if your wallet allows you to do RBF, then you can increase the fee to get it confirmed faster. Of you can't do a RBF, then you'll have to wait until it eventually gets confirmed or dropped by the nodes, then you can reinitiate it again.

Optionally, your friend can do CPFP if he's in a hurry and has sats in his wallet to increase the fee from his end to get it confirmed faster.

Probably your wallet is not synchronizing could be the reason or maybe the wallet is not connected online because of bad network or if the network is not on.

If your device is online and the wallet synchronized with the blockchain, the transaction will be sent and not show pending if the receiver has received it.

Or maybe the recipient has spend unconfirmed transaction on.
Any unconfirmed transaction can be double spent unless it has been confirmed on the blockchain. More confirmations mean less chances of the transaction to be reversed.

He was able to see such due to the fact that he uses a wallet electrum that shows an unconfirmed transaction only particular address.

Very possible, in fact the receiver can even spend an unconfirmed transaction, that doesn't mean it will not be confirmed, it could also be that your own wallet is not synchronizing as expected, just as you have been suggested above.

What wallet did you send from? Let me guess, Trust Wallet? Trust Wallet does have problems updating their transactions to real time, sometimes.

Secondly, the receiver must have received the transaction as an incoming transaction with no confirmation yet, after 1 confirmation by the receiver, that is when it changes, also displaying how many confirmations from both ends.

It will get confirmed to the receiver, It will not reverse as long as it has gotten at least 1 confirmation. You don't need to do anything, use chain explorer to track and monitor updates on your transaction.

Since it's still pending on your end, it's not been received, he sees it in his wallet because to it has been broadcasted on the mempool. It's not in the address yet until a miner includes it in a block. It will be pending until confirmed or rejected.

If the wallet that is receiving the BTC has confirmed that he has received the BTC from his/her end, it means the transaction was successful. The problem you might be having is network for you to synchronize your wallet, if you have proper network, it will not keep showing pending when the recipient wallet has received the BTC.
To be sure, you can use the transaction hash to check it in the blockchain to see if the transaction has been processed, you will get the confirmation there.

This is just something normal, maybe you are just observing it for the first time. When you send bitcoin, it will show as incoming transaction in the receiver's wallet, then in your own wallet it will show as pending until it is being confirmed with at least 1 confirmation for small amounts and 3 to 6 confirmation for larger amount so you should just be patient and wait for the transaction to be confirmed from your end. However, just because your transactions confirms within a timeframe doesn't mean it will work like that all the time. If there is congestion in mempool it means your transaction will be delayed above the usual time you always expect it to drop. If you also want a faster confirmation then you can ''bump'' the gas fee by increasing the amount but do not cancel the transaction otherwise you will lose the gas fee.

As long as the receiver already received their funds the you shouldn't have to be so worried about it and I believe the major reason is maybe you're not having strong network connection.
Maybe you should also try refreshing your browser when next you see something like this and make sure you have a good and stable network and also try checking the sending fee and if all this done and it still persist then you should try consulting the customer service with the transaction id

There was nothing wrong with your transaction as it was already been received, however I believe the reason why it was still pending at your end was because you didn't refresh your wallet or exited completely before checking again or maybe it was network because when is weak there is no how it will display successful even if it takes the whole day so actually try and confirm the stability of your network and refresh the wallet it will definitely display as a transaction that was successful, as for the reversal you said, you should understand that a successful transaction will not be reverse back.

There is a point on what you are saying but it is no what the Op asked.
While the fee might have been a factor since it wasn't confirmed early but it doesn't disregard the fact that it was confirmed at the reciever ends which others have said already and I support that it can be a network issue affecting synchronising or the reciever wallet haves the permission to show unconfirmed transaction.

Nevertheless, the wallet might be a factor becasuse there are wallets or issues that can affect they synchronising of the sender wallet, I have experienced it some years or time back.

Maybe the fee you set is low, if your wallet allows you to do RBF, then you can increase the fee to get it confirmed faster. Of you can't do a RBF, then you'll have to wait until it eventually gets confirmed or dropped by the nodes, then you can reinitiate it again.
I don't think that the fee I set is the problem, because I have been making series of transactions for some time know and this is the first time this is happening, if the fee is likely to be the problem, then it should have occurred even at once since then.

Optionally, your friend can do CPFP if he's in a hurry and has sats in his wallet to increase the fee from his end to get it confirmed faster.
The most surprising part of it is that, he has made use of BTC already without any issues, and that is the reason why i brought it here for the matter  to be addressed and hear multiple opinion and thoughts.

What wallet did you send from? Let me guess, Trust Wallet? Trust Wallet does have problems updating their transactions to real time, sometimes.
Yes, you are actually correct, it was trust wallet that I used for the transaction and it has been the one I have been using since I started my cryptocurrency journey, it sometimes do delays confirmation update even after transactions are being received, but has never taken this long for confirmation.

It will get confirmed to the receiver, It will not reverse as long as it has gotten at least 1 confirmation. You don't need to do anything, use chain explorer to track and monitor updates on your transaction.
Noted, henceforth I will surely go by your advise and always use Chain explorer to track and monitor my transactions update when next am making transactions.

All what you suggested came to my mind also and I did refreshed many times, I even exited the the wallet and also turned off my device, but to no avail and I had to leave it that way. Hopefully with time it will disappear as pending and will display successful.

This is not a big problem and you don't need to worry about it. If you can take some proper steps then you can overcome your fear and know why this happened. Your transaction may not be associated with any block which is why you are being shown as pending. You can easily see the status of your transaction from mempool. This can happen if you have given your transaction a very low free amount or if there is a lot of congestion in the network. You can see the blockchain confirmation status to determine whether the person you sent the bitcoin to has received the bitcoin or not. Many times it is seen that the bitcoin deposit has been received and the sms comes but it is not confirmed so we cannot exchange the bitcoin into dollars.

Just if you still aren't satisfied with how the pending transaction is showing on your wallet, you can check the transaction on ab!ock explorer next time too. Just copy the transaction id or hash.

I came across a strange scenario while making a transaction in a wallet, by sending out some amount of Bitcoin to a partner. It's been a while that I have been in this forum and have started my cryptocurrency journey.

But come to think of it. Why are you so concerned about the transaction showing pending on your end when the address you're sending to have already received the funds with confirmation on the blockchain. Were you planning on double spending the same amount?  You could have just checked your balances and you'll see that the BTC has left your walkers. Just as others have said, it's network issues either because of poor network or no data. Wallet not up to date or not synchronize properly but still all this shouldn't worry you as far the other partner/address has received the Bitcoins as it isn't coming back to your wallet. But don't forget to change your wallet to something more up to date or update/synchronize your current wallet.

Yes, you are actually correct, it was trust wallet that I used for the transaction and it has been the one I have been using since I started my cryptocurrency journey, it sometimes do delays confirmation update even after transactions are being received, but has never taken this long for confirmation.
Trust wallet is one of the worst bitcoin wallet. Just stop using it and use open source bitcoin wallet.

Bitcoin open source wallets that support replace-by-fee (RBF)

I will recommend Electrum (available on Desktop and Android), Sparrow (available on desktop)and Bluewallet (available on Apple and Android).

...
Wallet can show an incoming transaction before it even gets confirmed... Trust Wallet requires constant update which sometimes can get very tiresome... So update your app if possible and proceed to tracking the transaction using transaction ID on blockchair.com to see if it has already been confirmed or not.. At least that will give you a better idea on what is actually happening with the transaction..
Also BTC transaction isn't your regular bank that can be reversed back after completion, and so once the transaction has already been confirmed and included to the block chain that's final and the transaction was successful.. The recipient cannot receive the same Bitcoin again just because you wallet is still showing pending..
If you realize that the transaction is unconfirmed then you need more time for it to be included to the block, and this could take longer time depending on the transaction fee and how congested the network is as of that time...It's nothing to worry about though if you have confirmed the status of the transaction using the Transaction ID..

The most surprising part of it is that, he has made use of BTC already without any issues, and that is the reason why i brought it here for the matter  to be addressed and hear multiple opinion and thoughts.

It has been explained to you by some respond here. Since the person that is supposed to relieve the BTC has used it, it means your device have poor network connection. If your device is connected to proper internet connection, your wallet would have synchronized and you will have known that the transaction fees as processed.

Trust wallets is not a reliable wallet, it is a closed-source wallet, and so many people have been complaining about the wallet for long, so it is not advisable to use it to hold your Bitcoin, use a reliable open-source wallet like Electrum or BlueWallet to hold your Bitcoin, and your transactions will not have such glitch.

Furthermore, always track your transactions to know if it has been confirmed.

I stopped using Trust wallet when I started my Bitcoin investment journey because of a similar incident where I lost some of my coins and didn't even know how to recover it then even though I had and did input the seed phrases. I simply couldn't explain what happened but that was the day I stopped using Trust wallet.

Although at first when I tried electrum wallet, I experience delay in confirmation but I had to bump the fee to enable faster confirmation and it worked, so I don't think there's much problems with the right knowledge and how to apply it in this case.

It could be a case of synchronization wallet lag that OP is experiencing and instead of to panic, this is where using the mempool.space explorer to confirm the transaction on the public explorer comes in handy.
Bitcoins protocol prevents double spending for one, and there shouldn't be fear of the transaction being sent a second time.

OP can clear cache also to see if the confirmation syncs quickly.

All what you suggested came to my mind also and I did refreshed many times, I even exited the the wallet and also turned off my device, but to no avail and I had to leave it that way. Hopefully with time it will disappear as pending and will display successful.

I think we need to ask him about the type of wallet that he used for transaction. I have experience this before with my cake wallet. When I enter the app and synchronized with the node, I sent payment from the app to the an exchange which took 20 minute to confirm which reflects on the esxhange. I didn't enter the wallet again after some days and when I later enter, the wallet was the same the way I left it. The old transaction was pending but I have spent the transaction, but when I change my network, it refresh and sync and show the state of the blockchain.

He might be dealing with network issues at the moment. I will advice that he change his network and see if the state of the wallet is the same, a good network will connect very fast and regresk like mine did. I don't think a any spv wallet that is connected to a node is going to have time to be showing pending, even an outdated app will not behave that way, something is not right somewhere.
