Betting Marathon: From $60 to $1,800

The Challenge

I’m starting with a $60 bankroll, with the ultimate goal of reaching $1,800.

This thread is mainly about discipline and keeping myself accountable.

My plan is to bet 2% of my current bankroll per day.

For my bets, I chose GAMBA, mainly because I liked the fact that it provides a statistics section where I can track my weekly and monthly profit.

I don't want to flood the forum with daily updates, so I decided to post my results once a month instead.

At the beginning of each month, I’ll update this thread with the previous month's statistics in a format similar to the screenshot below.



The Goal

To keep the marathon from dragging on forever, I’ve set myself a simple target:

I need to double my bankroll every two months.

If I fail to double my bankroll by November 1st, the marathon is over.

The starting point is September 1st, and the target milestones are:

September 1: $60 — Start
November 1: $120
January 1: $240
March 1: $480
May 1: $960
July 1: $1,800 — Final Goal

If I fail to reach the required bankroll at any of these milestones, the marathon will be considered finished.

Of course, I know that turning $60 into $1,800 is a very ambitious goal. The main purpose of this challenge is to see how far I can actually get while sticking to my rules and maintaining proper bankroll discipline.

Let us know when you failed to keep that target, because this is the part where most people that created similar topics failed to do, once the plan go against them they won't come back.

I wish you all the best and losing $60 won't get you killed anyway,  even if you can't afford to lose it which I don't advice though, but I want you to know that this is gambling not trading.

I would advice anyone to do this plan like on trading rather than gambling, because trading has stop losses, it is safer than gambling, you can choose to use spot trading which has the minimal risk compared to leverage, but you do you, all the best.

You want to use $60 to earn $1800 in 11 months. That can look possible, but it would really be hard to achieve, provided if you achieved it. Gambling should just be for fun and not something that people should be using to target a particular goal achievement. But I really like how you post about it, just let us know how it is going. I think monthly updates is far and boring, but I will put this thread under watch.

This is not the first time I’ve seen a thread trying to achieve long-term success in sports betting, and honestly, none of those I followed managed to finish their challenge or keep updating until the end.

So I hope yours will be different, and I wish you success. Having a long-term goal and being willing to track the results is already a good start. I’m interested to see how far you can take this.

For me, this marathon is just a bit of entertainment, and I fully understand the responsibility that comes with it.

You have set a challenging goal that has a higher chance of failing. Once in a while, such threads come up on the forum and the OP doesn't always achieve their goals, and the thread dies. Gambling is an unpredictable space, so there is no certainty that you would make  $1,800 by July 1st. But if Mother Luck is on your side, you can even win more. I have never used the gambling site you mentioned, and it is not popular here.

However,,, how will we know you kept your limit to 2% bankroll? And what is your profit stop limit per day? I mean,,, I guess the question is how will we know you really tried on first attempt and not made 2nd or 3rd deposit?

The goal you want to achieve is quite difficult. However, I don't want to discourage you. There are a few things, betting 2%, updating once a month, ending the challenge if you don't reach a certain milestone, these, to me at least, create some control against betting on emotions or trying to recoup losses. The goal you have is $60 to $1800 which is a 30x capital increase. But the problem is that if you want to double your capital by betting 2% of your current capital every day every two months, then on average you need a net profit of about 57% from each bet.

However, I have doubts about your calculation. You said that you will double it every two months. But my question is if it is $960 on May 1, then by July 1, it should be $1920. Your ultimate goal is $1800. This is not a big problem, but if the rules are clear, there will be less confusion later.

For me it would be ideal you update it every week to know your progress, of course if you don’t mind I will also ask for you to be including the games that you are betting on and your options so we could also track the winning progress as well. Because most time you could ran out of funds and you may deposit additional funds without us knowing that you have lost all the initial amount deposited on the gambling site that you were using to accomplish your marathon.

I doubt that you can really make $1800 by betting $60. You will need to be very lucky and also observe the internals of gambling to move forward, but to bring sixty dollars to $1800, you will definitely need to work hard and be lucky.
It may seem that if you start gambling online and the casino site you choose will manipulate your money or you can lose your $60 bet very quickly. But in the end, we are interested to hear whether you have actually been able to reach $1800 using $60.

Looking forward to seeing the end of this. Turning $60 to $1800 is very achievable within your set time frame. It's just 30x right.

I like your rules as well. It shows you're a discipline gambler if you actually abide by your rules. You're willing to terminate the challenge at first failure which is the hardest for most gamblers. Some people will attempt to force their way somehow either by extending the deadline or deposit more to catch up. If you can't play by your own rules, you shouldn't bother setting them in the first place.

What about you sharing your games and your strategies here? Are you comfortable with that? I think some people would be interested to follow along with anything they can afford to lose.

Open this thread for 24 hours letting people give opinions, after that immediately lock this thread so it doesn't fall apart in the flood of spam, after the beginning of the month you can update again with the Open Thread scheme 24 hours again.

Bankroll $60 for this challenge can be said small, if you already know his responsibility then no one else can force, except myself who want to know the results of his next 6 months.

Some bettors would already be happy just to double their bankroll, but you are very positive about reaching much more than that. Well, I can’t blame you, maybe that is just your style. All I can say is I hope you still end up in profit, although for me the target looks a bit unrealistic.

I think you recently had a prediction thread where you were also talking about achieving your goals and discipline, but you closed it after just a few days. Won’t the same thing happen with this thread, will you keep it going until you reach the goal you’ve set?

That would be a great achievement if ever you manage to complete your goal. Starting with $60 capital and your plan is to double it every month until you have reached your goal of $1800. It would definitely make you experience different kinds of emotions. You might also spend a lot of time thinking on your next possible move and strategy like what game you will play next to be profitable, if you will choose to stick on a single game that previously worked for you, or if you will try something new if the previous game gives you an unlucky result.

It's an interesting challenge, I already imagine that you it would need you a lot of patience and enough discipline to keep moving forward without breaking your emotion and strategy if ever you encounter continuous bad game.

It is possible that someone will say that you are naive if you think that you will be able to multiply your deposit by two all the time, but I am sure that you have excellent chances to achieve your goal. I've seen your early posts and results, and I think you're really good at predicting sports events and are lucky. I wish you good luck, and may the results be rejected by profit : you will close the month with either more or less profit, but in general, I think you will have a powerful boost for the new year. Here’s my suggestion: instead of updating the thread monthly, which is too long of a gap , you could update it weekly
I think one post per week is enough to keep people engaged, stay up to date, and avoid becoming repetitive or generic

First of all, you should make this thread self moderated to avoid being flooded by other post but since it’s already done then I suggest to just lock the thread after each post update that you made so that this will be neat.

Btw, you can do this experiment such as a tipster thread by posting your bet in advance so that someone can ride your bets in case you are performing good instead of updating once a month.

As I understand it, in addition to material goals, you ultimately want to become a more disciplined and level-headed person. That's an excellent goal!

You plan to publish monthly reports on your progress. I think it would be very useful to record in these reports your maximum deposit drawdowns and how you psychologically dealt with these setbacks. This, in my opinion, is the most important thing. Gambling isn't a constant upward movement. It's more like a zebra crossing, where a dark stripe follows a bright one, and a bright one follows a dark one. It's crucial to avoid emotional swings like these; in my opinion, that's half the battle.

I also want to warn you that, from a mathematical probability perspective, you may not achieve your goal of doubling your money at any stage. This is completely normal.  One month you might be losing all the time, and the next, you might suddenly increase your deposit eightfold. It's a game! Giving up too early means losing. 😉

Given that your account is blocked on the signature, your goals seem very ambitious. I remember another user who once set a goal to earn an entire Bitcoin through gambling. So, what did we see in the end? I stocked up on popcorn, and it turned out to be a waste. Where is this gambler now, with his goal?
