Op I don't like to check my bet history and my reason for that are understandable, maybe I will state my reason in this comment, I control my betting habits if that's what you mean by does our bet control us, although let me say few things why I don't like to talk about my bet history, as a gambler even if you're gambling for fun, I think they worst thing to do is to go back to remind yourself that you have lost money by checking your bet history, even if the amount you use in betting are small, we may see it as a joke but we can be pushed into doing what we didn't plan, all because of that action, my betting history is fine, but I have my decisions to keep it personal.

Betting history can reveal more than you think, your betting history does not only reveal how much you win or lose.
Your betting history also reveals how often you bet, how quickly do you place a bet after losing or winning, if you are chasing your losses or not and how much you have spent in gambling.

I think it all depends on the nature of a gambler whether they really need to look at their gambling or betting history to say what their history says about them, because a person should know what they have been doing and how they handle everything. For example, if someone is basically a responsible gambler, they would know that they haven't been losing a lot, because as a responsible gambler, you would stop gambling in two situations; the first situation is when they are losing constantly, and the second situation is when they have already won some money above their initial bankroll because they know it's gambling and taking more risk for more gains is foolishness.

In my case, the same is the case, because I'm generally a responsible gambler, which means that I never overcommit when I'm gambling, which simply means that if I'm losing constantly and I realize this is only going to empty my bankroll if I continue, so I simply stop there, and I also stop when I'm already in profit, because I know I'm going to lose again if I continue. It's not that I've never gambled more after winning initially, but I learnt from my mistakes, and now I don't make the same mistakes. And most importantly, I never chase my losses.

If you're someone that always check your betting history, you are likely to fall into addiction and start chasing losses because when you realize how much you have lost compared to how much you have gained, you will notice that your losses are higher and it can lead you to start chasing losses in order to recover. I won't even advice anyone to always check their betting history because it doesn't show that you are gambling for fun but with expectation. Don't allow yourself to be too concerned about how you gamble except you are someone that stakes with huge amount and you want to check your betting history to enable slow down on your gambling lifestyle. But still, in most cases it can still lead you to gamble even more aggressively. Maybe you can check your gambling history in a day to make sure you didn't exceed your gambling budget for the day but if it's about tracking your losses and your winnings, I don't like the idea.

Do you know that people can easily chase losses after going through their betting history and see that they have lost more than they win. My betting history would expose me as a ridiculous gambler who is unserious about the hobby. I think that is an accurate take as well. You’d mostly see 16 leg parlays with $1 bet to win a million or weird live bets against both teams to earn a guaranteed return. Just having fun and experimenting.

I can't even look in there, I have been a very bad gambler right from time because I don't know how to manage my gambling risk that much, and from my bet history one can easily see how worst of a gambler I am, I cant really point to any tangible winning and if I should compare the amount I have lost to how much my total deposit, it greatly shows that I have being losing all my money except on few occasions that a barely win amount that is enough to keep me in the next game.

You do not need to only calculate the amount of money you have spent on gambling, your gambling history can help you discover more things like the OP has said. You can ignore the amount and focus on other things that you can discover like for instance,

We're different people, I'm someone who pays attention to details and I'll be more meticulous with my assessment which would surpass what OP has advised and what you think. It's a good point from OP, but from an honest standpoint, I don't see myself running those checks.

The more you avoid your bet history the more of those mistakes which make you fear to check your history will keep repeating itself. The only way to truly overcome a mistake is first realizing that you are making a mistake else you might keep repeating same procedure over and over again without knowing that you are getting yourself into deep shit.

For me I don't need to visit my gambling history to see if bet control me or I control it, because I do control my betting habit. I don't gamble often and if I eventually lose for sometime I quit and take Break for days before placing another bet. The truth is that I am not a serious Gambler I do place bet on my free time when I am less busy or when I just have the feeling to bet or when my friend book a game and decided to shear it to me, only then i place bet so I can tell you my gambling history without looking at my dashboard history.

I have been gambling for many years, but I have checked my betting history very few times, or I have not needed to, because I gamble within a certain budget. Since I am not a regular gambler, I can easily remember how much I have lost or won on a weekly or monthly basis, so I do not need to check my betting history separately. That's not a good thing to hear, I might not be %100 right to advise you since anyone is entitled to how they make decisions, but I will advise you to learn how to withdraw your fund when you win. Leaving your won amount in your dashboard will encourage you to keep trying to win big untill you lose out completely. And that doesn't speak good about your gambling habit. Sometimes our gambling habit is what makes us not to be profitable in gambling. If we can be able to learn self control and not Also being greedy, we will be profitable in gambling.

This is very important, it's good to have periodic assessment of your grabbling habits. It would help you make adjustments where necessary. No matter how cautious and careful we think we're, our personal data might say otherwise,  so I agree with this. Although it's supposed to be a periodic activity. I do mine twice a year, June and December, it's really been very helpful to curtail my gambling excesses. Even without going through my betting history, I know that I am in control.  Gambling or betting is not something that I do all of the time. My appearances have been so scanty that I can beat my chest to say I have lost nothing to gambling. Gamblers can learn to control how they approach gambling so a simple task as going through their bet history wouldn't seem like a threat or a big deal. Anyone who is scared of going through his own betting history has a lot of explanations to give to himself. After such explanation, he should work towards a better betting lifestyle.

Answering this question from a pure personal perspective, my betting history reveals clearly how I am one of the few people who practice gamblung for entertainment purpose only. The story started when I was introduced to bitcointalk forum and saw how the gambling industry was widely spreading through gambling. Been honest with myself right now I think my bets are controlling me on betting history. It tells a different story, and right now it those feels so deep to me having to see it now…what most people fail to understand is that they don't give reasonable answers each time they are asked about their gambling history they want to make it looks like they're in control, but it turns out that the history is given a different story….Why lie to yourself and family about how much you’ve spent on gambling? Is there any point to that when I see most people do such an act… sometimes it's really important to check your betting history to know your monthly or weekly spending on betting in order to have a better chance to control yourself..

Looking at your bet history every now and then helps you stay in track, the reason why a lot of players avoid doing this is because they don't want to be reminded of their losses which proves the point you made, they have lost a significant amount of money, which means that they are gambling irresponsibly. If I actually check my betting history from two years back, then it will actually reveal that gambling was the one in control. I was actually the type that whenever I lose money, I will want to try and win back what I've already lose.

This post is not for me because it's been long I placed bets, I can't remember the last time I make predictions on a gambling platform, and I am not thinking of betting sooner, infact, I no longer gamble and I'm not going into it again.

Betting history don't really tell the whole story. Sure it can tell you how often you bet and what it says about your wins and losses. What it doesn't do is tell you the reason behind the bets. What if that quick bets was just my rule playing out. Just because it is plenty at a given time frame doesn't prove anything. So I think there's a lot betting history can't reveal but it can be used as a yardstick to know what and what to do next time. Still all good.

It has happened to me many time that I lost money. Some time I felt somewhat frustrated. And then I deposited more fund thinking I could make up that loss. I am almost sure that everyone here has experienced this. Actually it is in our nature to make frequent deposit and then rush to recover lost money. Also it is natural to feel that I lack control over the situation.

Now, I try to review of my deposit and withdrawal every week. I track how much money I have spent and how much I have managed to withdraw. This allow me to determine whether I am in profit or at loss by the end of week. I have specific monthly budget for gambling. So, if I lose significant amount in any given week then I try to stay away from gambling that following week. This is how I try to keep myself in check. Actually I cant make profit every week, there have even been month where I lost almost all money I deposited. However, I never allow myself to exceed my monthly budget.

I do not need to review my bet history to find out if the pattern i have been using to bet will reveal if gambling is controlling me because i do not chase losses, any week i do see easy games to bet on i will take a break from gambling and wait for the week there is going to be easy games, for example, i bet three times last week and i won twice, today i wanted to bet weekend games but the weekend games that i selected i am not convince the game will play so i withdraw my money in my betting account to my bank account. It is next week that i will bet again if there are easy games.
