There are some jobs that for some reasons people believed that artificial intelligence couldn't take although we have seen other people believe that Ai will take over everything, Elon musk has said one time that there would be Ai handling Ai needs, I may not have put it in his exact word but this was what he meant.

Jobs in the medical field was believed to be a no go area for artificial intelligence like the medical doctors (dentist included), nurses, radiographers, pharmacist and so on, but all that is changing as Ai is learning too fast.

Based on the utilities of this toothbrush if it continues to advance could make the work of the dentist go extinct. There are also videos I have seen of artificial intelligence bots training on high pressure brain surgical procedures.

As far as I remember, artificial intelligence demonstrated its effectiveness right from the first versions in analyzing medical images: for example, it could detect pneumonia in X‑ray images, and at some point it did it much better than doctors. And this wasn’t with the latest version of the AI.
And now I can see that Astra is starting to deliver results so impressive that soon even the guys who create 3D models for games or renderings for design will simply lose their jobs - after all, you can literally draw some shape on a piece of paper with a pen, and Astra will create a 3D model of it for you, even with animation. This is a new stage in the development of AI.

Even though the nerve is killed, I experience intense pain every time dentist removes a nerve from my tooth and imagine robot doing that, oh, no, that's horrible. I wonder how it will react when the patient screams or experiences pain or when patient moves head and the robot carries a needle or a drill.
By the way, slowly, everything is going towards that that human workforce will fully be replaced. Not today, not tomorrow but that's the destination.

AI can mimic a human completely imo.  If it still doesn't, it is probably because we haven't trained it enough. A human is a mixture of algorithms. Sleep, wake up, eat, piss, read, recognize, learn, mimic... Every once in a while we have our eureka moment and discover something new but that happens rarely. Most of the time it is all repetitive. AI can taught to be human. It is already a better programmer than many engineers out there... Soon AI will be doing surgeries as well. It only lacks the data and training, for now.

I think a automated driving taxi is far easier to accept by the public rather than an AI dentist. Dental procedures requires a very detailed and precision movements to avoid dental injuries which I think a operational robot right now isn't on that kind of level yet. A direct touch with a robot is much scarier than riding it to be honest. I myself won't let a robot touch my teeth even on the future. I'm sure there are lesser people who would like a robotic AI do a dental work on them if there are human workers who have years of skills to do the dental work to them.

I believe AI will affect a lot of jobs. But if we are going to use it the right way, it can actually create more jobs too. They cannot have the same decision-making as a human, especially in crucial parts of a job, so having a human do the work is still the best choice in many different fields.

There's still this fear from myself as well if I'll enter into a machine that will be wholly done by a robot. I'd still trust the human on this matter since it is my body. The force can be set on it but, it's not foolproof and most of these machines still have a chance to fail. They might perfect it in the future but, in certain services if I know that it's said to be done by an AI then I might pull myself back instead of going on.

I have always heard the phrase that AI will create more jobs but so far, AI is 0 for 1 in that regard for now. If AI takes away 1 million jobs, I doubt it can provide 10k or even 100k jobs in return. Right now, almost no one wants to pay for expert services anymore especially since you can squeeze much more work or productivity from a Claude/ChatGPT Pro or Max  subscription per month.

The jobs that are going to be at disadvantage are jobs that involves data analysis because those are the areas that AI specialized in, AI are good at other things too but the field of AI leads in helping out on data hence those with jobs in that area should better starts looking for other alternatives. AI has the chance to cause a big change in the work market because we are going to be having more people than we are do, looking for jobs that have a limited supply. I also think as AI becomes more popular we are going to be needed more jobs as AI being another type of business or we have a totally different new kinds of works. For analysis, maybe this is still possible but for handling, of course, specialists are the best for now so that even though AI can be seconded with the sophistication and modernization that AI has but it is not capable enough to replace specialist doctors in their fields as handling in the removal of diseases or others. So that in medical science the doctor remains the most important reference that cannot be replaced completely even though for the first analysis and treatment such as recognizing diseases or other things may still be helped by AI.

AI is getting more and more sophisticated and I don't think we can argue that but for work in medical science, of course, we cannot completely entrust this to AI (at least for now) because after all, when there are defects or errors in the program that AI does, it can make fatal mistakes in terms of actions so that this medical science becomes crucial and maybe even for now and the next few years it will not be replaced by AI.

You are right that AI is no longer limited to repetitive or low-skilled jobs. AI can now do many tasks at a professional level. But some things are still limited and some things should never be relied upon by AI. For example, the work of a doctor should never be done by AI. I myself asked AI to prescribe medicine for an illness where it was said that medicine is not actually given for that disease. And a doctor can actually understand many aspects of a person's physical condition by seeing him at front . This is not possible with AI. But AI can be used to find or research information related to a disease. But it is dangerous to directly trust AI like a doctor, so we should not think that all kinds of tasks will be replaced by AI yet. AI will be able to do many more tasks in the future, but there will be some tasks that will have to be done by humans.

You are misunderstanding the point. Yeah, workers are using it, but the fact that AI is assisting means that they are removing jobs of those people who used to do that assisting in a team.

AI is faster and more efficient assistant, so one coder can now do a code project in same time it took 50 coders to do previously. You think that those 49 coders out of 50 are hired to do what exactly? So, since you speak about logic and reasoning can you reason your argument to me?

Isn't it true programs and the ambition for projects and work undertaken was becoming unwieldy.   AI is not reducing work possible, I believe it will expand the possibilities and ease at which projects can be undertaken and its still going to need people possibly even more if the size of what is possible is increased.   Theres no way everything AI is doing is perfect, they need alot of correction and training in order to be useful.

I believe people already were using search engines  and various web sites incorrectly quite often, it would only be a part of that trend.   Overall I hope the possibility is to lower overall costs, faster diagnosis via pattern recognition is often quoted to a wider range of people.  The whole job more then most industries is people facing requiring proper diagnosis by a doctor in person.

Maybe you are making the same error here because you are generalizing everyone and all waves of technologies to be the same? Different waves of technologies can not be compared to each other, and there has never been a wave that could automate in many different directions at the same time. If we combine AI advances with robotic advances, this would be the greatest technological leap since the internet maybe. If you follow the discussion between some users here that have more detailed comments, rational users will say that nobody knows the exact time perspective so the short time perspective point is not true for those. Research and engineering advances confirm that we are making great leaps.

Most places do not have this technology yet, don't mix technology future estimates with technology that is actually here now. If you look at scientific papers that investigate machine learning and now also AI accuracy compared to the radiologists of the world, you will see that the technology is already much more superior. Superiority being demonstrated is one thing, but scaling it and deploying it commercially is a whole different problem that is not related at all to the first. All of these things are coming, the unknown is just when and how.

I doubt it because most of the tasks that doctors do can be automated away quite easily. Procedures with robots, diagnostics with data and AI and procedures will be a bit harder because of the engineering challenges but things are changing fast.
