I wouldn't say market is dropping anymore since Bitcoin rised from $64k to roughly $77k during the past 10 days and nothing is telling about its falling in the future. So, I support those who hold their coins instead of panic selling. If they can hold them long enough until BTC surpasses the previous ATH, they will thank themselves for waiting.

If someone is holding bitcoin with a long term plan it is not a good move to panic and sell when the price drops, a move from around 64 thousand dollars to 77 thousand dollars shows how quickly the market can change, so trying predict every move can be a difficult thing.

Personally, the best thing to do is to focus on why you bought bitcoin in the first place and give yourself enough time let the plan work, of course, no one knows whether BTC will reach new ATH or when it will happen, but selling simply because of fear could make you regret your decision.

I think it would be better you should restart the purchase rather than asking an uncertain thing because the answer about "until when" it will not be certain when talking about market fluctuations but certainty will always be there where the increase will definitely happen again after this decline and the new ATH is not a bullshit later so we just need to enjoy the moment like this now.

Nobody knows how long you going to hold,  because nobody knows how long it’s going to take before bitcoin price is going to bounce back. When investing in bitcoin, its always recommended to invest in bitcoin for long term, if you plan to hold for long term, then short term price movement isn’t going to disturb you, the only people that are going to be worried are short term investors.

If you are already holding bitcoin, and price keeps on dropping, all what we should do is to keep on accumulating more bitcoin, we should take advantage of the dip happening in the market to buy more bitcoin, am not always disturbed no matter how low bitcoin price goes, because I know it’s going to bounce back even if it’s going to take some weeks, months, or years.

I hope you know that it was same 2025 many were expecting Donald Trump to proposed Bitcoin reserved, it was so much expected and this contributed to why we saw that price discovery. There were lots of bullish news that was flying around the macro economy, not only Bitcoin was doing well even stock assets were doing well incredibly until he started the tariff war on different countries, and the hope began to reduce drastically, alot of mixed felling among investors.

The same government that was bull posting, lead us here to bottom has now announced a bond buy back program and the market has now pick again. I guess we just have to played along, this may be a fake out or it might be a higher and then low again before we either retest those low price or we might confine from here. Just to be clear, the market is unpredictable, it's hard to know the next level where Bitcoin price will head.

Bitcoin experiencing a bearish season is normal, for every event it takes longer time for the price to reach another ATH, asking how long seems like a very strange question knowing for a fact bitcoin is a long term investment although during the wait bitcoin might reach a certain price range which may deceive most newbies, little spike is no cause to panic like for the last couple of days bitcoin price reached the $80k range and now we’re in $70k currently, probably the price might go lower nothing is certain.

My decision for holding too long might not suit you if you are asking it. Because for as long as I can hold, I'll hold it. Maybe for a few more cycles to happen then I'll finally decide a big amount to be sold, as if I've got huge holdings LOL. But the real thing is on you on how's your gameplan of holding. If you ever decide to hold as much as you can and for as long as you can, that's not a big matter because you know how patient you are and how long you can tolerate the massive dump that we might experience before it finally recovers and moves to the next cycle.

Do you mean you want Bitcoin investors to sell just for little profit? How about the main reason for the investment that’s centered around holding? Should we just settle for some little profit and decide not hold Bitcoin again? It’s not done that way, Bitcoin are main to be hold for long, if you can’t hold for long, don’t call yourself a Bitcoin investors, call yourself a short term spot trader who o my buy the dip and sell once they get some profit. I am not saying that it is bad, but holding Bitcoin is the best and using the DCA method to be buying gradually so that your future plan and investment will be on Bitcoin.

I believe BTC will reach a new ATH but what i can't say is when it's going to reach a new ATH,  bitcoin has getting to different ATH so i don't believe that the one of 2025 will be the last ATH, just as no body expected this current increase that's also how we can't predict when BTC will get to a new ATH.

Importantly investors should also hold on there bitcoin even when bitcoin is at it worst price and shouldn't panic to sell because when you don't expect the price is when the price will skyrocket to a higher price, to know the value of bitcoin is buy and hold it for a long term and never be distracted by what they speculate about the price of bitcoin, i believe that anyone who buys BTC with money they can afford to loss can actually hold for long term because they won't panic and sell when the BTC price is facing a massive decline in price.

This has been the least volatile market since 2009 after every 4 years. Some people expected bitcoin to drop below $40000, but bitcoin did not drop below $57700 for now and probably bitcoin will not drop below the price. So how is the market dropping off more than we you expected?

Bitcoin is now over $77000 which mean bitcoin is not below 50% of its all time high. Just hold, bitcoin will later get to all time high, but it will require long period of time.

Bitcoin is not stable and mentaining a price range of between $77k to $76k price region in the last few hours to day's now, which indicates have stable and less volatile the market have become and still mentaining a 50% drop in price of the last all time high price of $123k+ in 2025, but expecting Bitcoin to go lower that 60k will be a wait that could become endless since there is no possibility of that happening considering the level of market liqudities that Bitcoin have build on in recent time through various investors strategy and mechanism like Bitcoin ETFs and the rest.

Well I have been HODL'ing since 2017 through many bear markets and market shifts so this
current market move during this current bear market doesnt stimulate me to sell at all.

And anyone who is HODL'ing since at least the start of this year, why would they now all of a

Seriously, OP is worried about something else, I am sure of that, because when you are worried about one thing, you tend to make problems out of things that aren't problems. This is a famous illness these days. People are stressed, and the funny thing is they don't even realize they are.

Self awareness, especially about health, is very important.

But if he genuinely worried about the market at a time like this, then he is worrying about the wrong thing. Although September is going to be bearish, history could change.

OP, i'm sure you've been going through more than one cycle, if the ATH is $126k that happened in October 2025, don't you think logically since we've been witnessing the same bearish-bullish cycle played out and average previous cycle ATH to another ATH is about 3.6 - 4 years, your expectation should be another 3.6 years to go before new ATH?

From 2024-2025 cycle, we've learnt that for bitcoin market to reach the 2021 ATH but not new ATH of the cycle, it needs about 2.3 year. If you bought at ATH of 2025, expect the same period of waiting.

With a big caveat that you actually believe history will repeat since we have been having almost identical cyclical chart so far.

If you are an investor, then you shouldn't be asking this kind of questions on how long  should we hold. This question is for traders, because they focus on selling on shortterm.  As an investor your goal should be holding Bitcoin for a long time, maybe 8 years and above, therefore stop tweaking for Bitcoin price movements in the short term. Even as an investor it's a joy to watch Bitcoin performing well in the markets, especially when it broke a new ATH last year. But if you understand Bitcoin enough, you will notice that after a long bullish momentum, it will dip again, as a result of macro factors, or big institutes selling of their holdings. You have to be patient Tbh, what you should focus is accumulating more Bitcoin if you have their capability to do that.  Your goal should be trying to hold to your targeted time frame or period.

This is where bitcoin is not like ponzi investment, you needed time to see it yield it's profits and this is mostly by holding, when you invest, then you give it time to mature and you're not going to sell at loss, this is also why we must make the necessary speculations before going into the market, so as to know when best to buy and when to sell, designed a strategy towards our Bitcoin accumulation and plan ahead upon the kind of investor we intend to be, are going for a long time investment or a short one, all these must be given answers to right before we invest.

Planning ahead or should I say starting an investment on Bitcoin is like planting and waiting for it to germinate before you start harvesting, honestly we need to be careful on how we make such decisions since we are aware that Bitcoin price can drastically make a "U" turn, while some will regret and the others will appreciate their gain base on how productive the market is. To me, the market is not actually dropping below the expected bottom price, last year when price was still high at $120k, I said in one of my comments that price will dip dip to $50k during the bear season but some persons didn't agree with me, but instead said that price won't go below $70k, so if you were among those people that didn't believe that price would have gone below $70k, then you are wrong, it's actually normal to see that price dipped to $50k+ and I believe that's the last bottom, we are going to see a new all time high in next bull season, so the answer to your question is that you have to hold till next bull season.

This bear season is an opportunity to buy more Bitcoin, as for those people that bought last year when the price was above $100k, they just have to hold tight until the next bull market, that's why you have to cease the opportunity to buy now instead of waiting until the price gets to $250k in the next bull season.

You need to know that people's expectations are not constant over time but changing wildly over time. For example, now or weeks ago, they can expect Bitcoin bottom price is about $50k+, for example in your own post, but if Bitcoin market crashes to $50k, they will change their price expectation and price target will become somewhere deeper than $50k. Their bottom price target at that time will be like $45k or $40k or even lower, and this behavior has happened many times in Bitcoin market.

For every event, Bitcoin has reached an all-time high in less than five years interval. After the halving, which likely happens every four years, it takes Bitcoin less than a year or two to break a new ATH. The event has been going on like this for years. Most times doesn't exceed 5 years, could be less than a four year.

For how long, is a desperate question, coming from a desperate investor. As for me, five years is ok to wait. Long term investment need at least 10 years. If the profit comes less than the 10 years, i am ok with it.
