Both the government and the citizens are part of  reason why this country is failing.  Is like we are not ready for changes. Government will  embezzle public funds for infrastructures and others ,then they will allocate part of the money for some particular people to run some projects.  Instead of them to do it with transparency and honesty, they will also cut their own share out of it, they will also take their own share, and whatever is left is what will eventually be used for the project. For corruption to reduce or end both the leaders and citizens must do the right thing and stop being greedy.  Look at the way China and Singapore is, it's very hard for corruption to thrive there.

I agree with you on this, if Nigeria decide to change their law, when it comes to any corruption cases and they treated it without basing, definitely every individual will watch their steps to avoid being crush by the law. We are watching everyday seeing our leaders be I choose of corruption cases, which they are proving guilty and they are still on the street doing what they want, but some of them are still in government parking more and nobody cares to even say anything regarding their behaviour, if our leaders can be seen doing all this kind of rubbish, what will stop us from not getting involved, everything you see us doing, we learn it from our leaders.

We know Nigeria is suffering from corrupt leadership but come to think of it when we're talking about corruption, it's obvious that 95% of Nigerians are truly corrupted already. Especially poor citizens, It's just that we're all waiting for small opportunities to cheat. This is common among the health personnel. Nigerian government claims they don't joke with the health of the citizens, but today you will find that the drugs that government shares among the hospitals are nowhere to be found. Where are we heading to today?

I’m not surprised to hear about such things about Nigeria, especially when this workers aren’t held accountable for their actions, this things of stealing equipments donated to hospitals and health centers have been happening for a long time, it would surprise you that this Nurses have pharmacies outside the hospital which is why they steals this equipments and medicines as well, I don’t think they only steal mosquitoes nets and other equipments, they steal everything they can steal, now this is the reason why Nigeria can’t be a working country, do you know what this people who steals from the Government Hospitals would say? They will tell you that you eat from where you’re working, what does that even mean, Individuals would donate things and Government would provide equipment but they end up stealing everything isn’t good for a country that wants to develop, I said sometimes ago that citizens are also a problem in the country, if this people complaining about the government, if they have that opportunity to occupy this offices they would do worst, which is to say that most Nigerian citizens are corrupt.

This is one of the problems we face in the country, where people will give their free will donations to suck people in the hospital, and some of the doctors will silence it like they weren't given anything. The doctors have been enriched by this especially those ones working in public hospitals. Some non governmental organizations love giving out gifts to some sick people in hospital as a way of showing live and concern to them. And I think if most of those money were used to get drugs, medical tool, some of the lives that are lost won't have happened because to give them the necessary treatment that they need.

Lol. This is funny. How can donations vanish. Did the donator actually buy the goods and send it? If he did and it got sold then yeah the person that's to receive the goods needs to be persecuted. But sincerely Nigerians are born thieves. Like. 😂. But we can't just say everybody is actually a thief. If you check other countries, there are consequences for actions. It's just that there's really no consequences for once action is Nigeria. That's why Nigeria was names land of the free. Anything goes and come.

You can hardly point out someone in Naija that is not corrupt, is like the blood run through our vain sorry to say it but that is what it looks like. Most of us blame the people at the top merely because we aren't opportune to be there, give a common man the chance of being in office for just some days and you'll see the true colour of what he's actually made of. Therefore, the only time people claimed to be Saint are when they lack opportunity.

That's by the way. Talking about the staffs that diverted the materials that was meant to improve health care in the community or whatever, are they really professionals on those fields or they're thief's? I just want to know because I can't get it. What were they actually thinking? Like the people that sponsored the moment wouldn't check back on how things was being carried out? They were so dumb to have think so, the best is to get everyone of them arrested and face the full weight of the law so that the rest of them will learn from it.

Those people are going be worst than all this corrupt politicians we have in this country because if a whole staff could steel an ordinary Mattress and other things that belongs to people they would definitely steel anything if they have the opportunity to do it, and this might not even be their first time with the courage they have, actually they shouldn't set them free if they admitted guilty of steeling those things so that other general Hospital staff who are also steeling the donations that's meant for people will think twice before doing anything, another thing they should also do is sacking them immediately. You are right about the flood because that's were this steeling happens a lot
Is funny how you called it an ordinary mattress and all of that they stole, humans mentality are operating in different ways such that what seems ordinary to you can mean a whole lot to others and that is life for you, definitely they stole those things to sell and sell at very cheaper price,

I was not referring to the poor when I said ordinary Mattress but however it was the financial status of those people that stole the mattress I was talking about because there is a height you would attain in life is not every amount you would be attracted to, especially this mattress because with the prices is being sold in the market currently it shouldn't worth more than 5k naira each, so if perhaps they distributed 100 piece of mattress it wouldn't give them any serious thing but they still cannot consider that people they brought the mattress for does not have anything like foam they could lay their head on, is unfortunate that the conscience of a lot of people has gone dark.
I got your point but you don't judge a man's action based on his financial status, we have individual differences which can reflect perfectly well in everything we do or in our actions and reactions, considering the financial status of those people that stole the mattress and think that doing that is beneath their levels for such action is wrong, this is because you should only be sure of yourself that you can not do certain thing of this such and not on a general mindset, sometimes there are things a man poor man can not do that a rich man will do when considering actions and reactions based on financial status, most people don't just have dignity forget about their financial status, they are who they are with or without money.

You will be blaming the leaders, almost everybody in Nigeria are thieves.

More than one hundred mattresses, bedsheets and mosquito nets have been donated to the Awe Local Government General Hospital and some primary healthcare facilities across the area.

The donation was made by the Member representing Awe North Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hudu A. Hudu, as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery and the welfare of patients in the constituency.

All what this man donated are not seen.

Abdullahi Sule orders prosecution of Nasarawa hospital staff over ‘sale of donations’

That's Nigeria for you. All Nigerians are actually very wicked, the only thing that differentiate them from one another, is their level of wickedness. Sometimes people donate those things to the hospital, but the incharge of the clinic will take almost half of the things home. Not just the leaders but also the citizens are at fault. The system did not collapse just because the leaders fail, but it is because both the leaders and the citizens failed woefully. Corruption will not allow Nigeria to grow and develop as expected, because no one is ready to right the wrong. Almost 95%of the citizens are corrupted and they are only after money, and that's where the problem is coming from. If it is only few people (the leaders) who are corrupted I believe Nigeria will still manage to grow no matter what. Because if the government decides to innovate something new after removing their share, I believe the remaining funds will still be manage to provide or produce something beneficial to the citizens. But the main thing that is killing Nigeria is that, even if the president decides to work on a particular project and handover the money to the governor after removing his shares, the governor will also remove his, the funds will pass from one government official to another, with each person taking their own share until the money is depleted, without doing anything tangible and beneficial with it. So how do we expect a country like this to grow and develop?

It's really disappointing to see or hear such a new because how can provisions be made to enable a hospital and it's patients but can't be seen. I find it difficult to understand where those provisions where diverted to and the reason behind it because this concerns human lives. I believe if this case is properly looked into and the culprits face the consequences then I think there will be a decline in such act.
If nothing is been done to stop diversion of resources then it will continue being a trend which more people will follow and then comes a reputation that cannot be reversed easily.

What else is left to happen in this sweet country Nigeria,  at first it was snake swallowing government money,  rats also destroying federal government documents in aso rock before we talk of other strange reports presented by them, so if we see this medical equipment missing is not a strange thing is this country but I will say they need to change because the evil that one does today must definitely come back to the same person one day.
This same stolen medical equipments will be useful to them and there families one faithful day so why stealing it
Everybody want to take advantage of opportunity in this our country, everybody want to show up when ever an opportunity or power is been handed over to them, this is how our system is and this has changed our mindset that who ever is given power should make good use of it by stealing public money.

The old reality you just reminded me how our politicians where stealing our treasures and making fun of it in place of animals, human animals where now stealing public funds and everybody was just making fun of it too, i know there are still good people in the country but such people rearly get into power.
This needs to change if we are really interested in growing from this current situation.  Because of this same bad habits of our leaders,  the nations we where better than before now are now 10 times better than us while we keep going down every day. Before 60s or early 60s, I can still recall that this same failed Nigeria had huge capital in our treasury and even gave loans to Singapore and even china but all changed when our leadership objectives changed from performing there constitutional duties to enriching themselves without putting the feelings of the citizens into consideration.

It is really something very wrong to that properties that was donated to hospitals are being missing, because they are also relief materials to those who are in the hospitals. However, the economic situation of this countis also making so many to misbehave. It is wrong to cart away things that are meant to aid the sick ones, however the because of the inflation in the country, many  civil servants are not regularly paid, and some of them are not also properly being taken care of , and this is the main reason you see some of those workers taking away the properties they are not meant to touch. In Nigeria today, many of the doctors are now looking for a way of traveling outside the country, or having their own private hospital, and from time to time, you see Nigerian Doctors going on strike, and you also see them being maltreated by not given them good salary, so somebody like that can do anything without minding because the hardship in the country is affecting almost everyone except the political class , and those who have made wealth through other means.

Nigeria politicians are not only the ones that should be held accountable for their flaws but also the citizens because we all have key roles to play in this country and there's no way the country will be going backwards if the citizens are doing the right thing. This is one of the most ridiculous news I've heard this week because it's just horrible. Why trigger the sell price of donated mattresses, mosquitoes nets which was primarily intended for patients in hospital just for your own personal gain is what I'm trying to wrap my head around.

This is highly unacceptable and we will blame the government for literally everytime they embezzled public funds meanwhile if some of us sits in such position, we will do worse than them. I will urge the Nigeria police to investigate and prosecute the defaulters because they know exactly what they were doing and will face extreme punishment for that.

Nigeria is a country that trades on palliatives but greed and other personal interests can in one way alter the benefits it must have offered the people. It is not new that when the World Health Organization (WHO) which are in charge of this services distribute several materials or things (health materials) which the victims should have use for there aid it will no reach the appropriate quarters for assessment and distribution.

Things donated to hospitals are diverted for their own personal gain which tends to affect those in need of it, the rate at which it occurs in no t a hood sign from the sector in charge of distribution thereby making it unseen given room to global complain across the health sector.

Just be calm , secondly leadership is of the mindset we also have good once among the bad eggs but very hard to find, in all we depends on God for rescue.

Waiting for this present president to change is a waste of time and energy because he can never change,  instead he will get worst than expected, all we need do is to vote them out of power by not selling our vote for peanuts that will put us in boundage for 8 years. Presently we have know leaders,  all we have are group of criminals operating even worst than arm rubbers but are not persecuted all because the entire system is corrupt.

This is not the first time such thing is happening in the country where government property is being converted for sale or personal use. Have you wondered why it looks like almost all the government hospitals in Nigeria don’t have the necessary facilities or equipment in their hospitals, is it that the government doesn’t provide the hospitals with the basic facilities needed at least. Have you also wondered why most of the time you go to a government hospital and you barely see a doctor to attend to you in office. That’s because they have their private hospitals where they operate outside the government hospitals they work. When government brings an equipment or facility to public hospitals they either sell it off and use the money to buy another one for their own private hospitals or they share it among the senior doctors and they use it in their private hospitals. The level of corruption in the country is what’s causing backwardness of the country, not just the politicians but also anyone who finds himself in a certain position won’t discharge his duty accordingly, there’s corruption in every sector.

You know a leader must always lead by example, since the people that are supposed to monitor a project are the ones tainting it at first what do you think of the ones behind, the betterment of this country will start from the leaders first before we can talk of the citizens, because for instance a machine is donated to a particular hospital for medical use, now instead to buy the machine direct and maybe deliver it to whom so ever in charge of that department, they will monitize it, after which they have cut their own, so when the money gets to the hands of the rest persons what do you expect? Like not all can withstand the temptations of money, they will have no choice but to cut theirs, so unless the government change no need to blame the citizens.

What has been done had been done, things has been done roughly from the top down to the grassroots, but what can we do? What we should do now to be able to improve the situation is what should be on the mind of everyone. The government should be able to identify these issue and look for a way to ensure those that keep embezzling funds that were meant to be sent to hospitals should be brought to book

And also, it will be more the government gets those machines by themselves, go to these hospitals and fix them, after that, you will appoint someone who can be a watch dog to those properties and ensure the persons kept in this position is are credible people so we don't make the same mistakes again.

Lol, we blame the government because they're bigger thieves. Most Nigerians are opportunists, if they are given the opportunity, they would do worse than the government they condemn. The truth is that the unhealthy quest for survival has made many people see positions of authority as a n opportunity to enrich themselves.

Funny enough, this kind of person would work his way up to higher leadership positions and the problem will persist. Corruption doesn't start when the person has assumed higher leadership position, People have been corrupt long before they became leaders.

So you think when people are saying that the country is full of corrupt leaders you think they are only talking about only the politicians? No they are also talking about those who have power after the politicians, those who can do anything and makes the citizens to blame the politicians, it is not only the politicians that are responsible for what is happening to our country, there are big offices in the federal government, state and local governments that are responsible for some things that is happening in Nigeria.

When i saw that video of the man complaining about what he donated, and how the hospital did not treat the patients well, i was not surprised because this is not the first time, this kind of things is happening in many hospitals and many local government offices, including secretariat, when the state government brings equipment that will be used for the local government they sold it and squandered the money, and at the end they will lie that they have distribute it, many things are happening in this country that we don’t know.
