This topic sound as if it's new in the Nigeria system, the system has been bastardized to the point that many healthcare collect money for immunization despite is stated clearly to be free if you refuse paying they end up telling their branch don't have that particular immunization, I noticed some irregularities in the health sector I  therefore made conclusion that it takes revolution to change the narrative because all sector if the Nigeria system have their magic they uses to extort or deprived citizens from gaining full benefits of what seem to be their right, the worst of this they have principle of not taken transfer you must pay in cash so that you won't have evidence even if the government attached small fees those in charge increase to have their cut making things difficult for citizens corruption is from the   root to the top, only when capital punishment is put in action to all who fall into this corruption that will reduced the corruption.

You are right and that's why government hospitals personnel are the biggest thief we have on that sector, all the medical treatment that government has been given for free before has now been monetized by some of those government health workers, especially on the immunization you mentioned because they are now charging ₦1k for every immunization you took your child so definitely steeling is already on their nature that's why it doesn't come as a surprise to me about what they did to those donated items, actually if not that government doesn't work with private hospital as they already have their own hospital it would have been best using private hospital to carry out their assisting activities to the people because they're a bit trusted than those public hospital staffs.

in Nigeria immunization is not free of course, people has moved on, there are many things happening in our health sector, the staffs are criminals, Government will import drugs, nurses and doctors will sell them off and request for new one and even if the drugs are replaced, they will still do the same thing, the corruption in this country has effected every sectors, recently a woman told me that if not for one thing that she would've not bothered herself going for immunization, I ask her what happened,  what she told me, got me thinking, every office in Nigeria has become an avenue to make money, the worst of it all is that, the people doing this are not afraid of anything because they know that corruption is a normal thing here.

Its really sad that all these things seems to only happen in public hospitals, due to lack of checks and balances by the appropriate government agencies that is meant to checkmate the activities of doctors and nurses in public hospitals. And the most painful part is that after government have supplied free drus to be share among the genearl public, these same doctors will sell that same drugs that was supplied by government to be shared for free.

If we did not take proper measures in treating the corrupt people in the country, so that others will see and fear to be embarrassed like them, I don't think nothing will change in this country. The people that will come and check this equipment are also corrupt, I think everyone in this country is corrupt, just because there is not an appropriate punishment that have been displayed in the public for us to see that it is so embarrassed to be involved in that act if being caught. Nigeria is not doing democracy at all, because even though they are, they we will see a lot of positive changes but our politician decided to be fooling us, the Revolution in this country will once happened again with the way things are going wrong.

Surely, the level of corruption in this country is becoming something else, the bad people are increasing corrupting the good ones. The truth is that people has lost the human empathy that they used to have and thereby treats their fellow humans like some pieces of trash they fucking don't care about, if people are being punished for their kind of act definitely others will learn but on the other hands who is going to nail them when they are all corrupt to be covering up each others mess, what measures do you have in mind to be use to properly treat corrupt people in this country?

Anything happening in Nigeria now is never a new thing as we have witness it severally, how relief materials that are supposed to be distributed accordingly to the less previllag people are been hidden from those that it was supposed to reached, but we can't continue saying that it's not a new thing when such thing happen, i think it is right time we begin to take action in some things happening in the country, we have been affected by bad and corrupt governance that if we keep to fold our hands and only complain things will only get worse and not better, and i believe we can start it from next year, we have next year to decide the fate this country, Tinubu must go.

The thing is that, I do not expect everything to be fine when there is no accountability from any side, the government on their own is not sincere, so they may not be concerned to check some of these things, cause they already know that they are not clean on their side, but sometimes, I do ask how we got this level where people no longer think about the good of others, what's the work of health officers, both the doctors and the nurses, even if the government has decided to turn their back on the people, should health officers do the same, it is too bad that corruption has eaten up every sector including the health sector in Nigeria.

You will be blaming the leaders, almost everybody in Nigeria are thieves.

It is not only political leaders who are corrupt, but also leaders in some other places. However, the worst offenders are politicians. If they had been doing the right thing, those who wanted to spoil their names would likely be exposed. If people complained, they would be able to see what the politicians had done. If people argued that they had not seen what was being claimed, the matter would go back to the person or company that was given the construction contract. However, most of them are not doing the right thing, which is why they cannot even follow up on the projects they have carried out for their people.

In fact, there are some politicians who will publicly announce the number of items they intend to donate, but the actual number they eventually donate will be different. In many cases, politicians are the ones teaching people how to be corrupt. It is true that corruption is not limited to the government; many other people are also corrupt in one way or another. But it is very bad when people steal items donated to hospitals. The most painful part is that some people will even buy those stolen items, despite knowing that they are meant for hospitals. Many Nigerians are really corrupt.

Stealing of drugs donated to the hospitals is one aspect, now selling of the donated drugs to patients is still another part but both of them are illegal and when someone is caught they should be legally charged and prosecuted for their actions. It’s very bad practice and which ever the person do is regarded purely as an act of theft which should be punishable under the law especially that it has to do with public or government property which has been donated to the people. It should even come with a more stringent penalties so others can learn from it. The adverse effects of all these things is, endangering the lives of the innocent people who come for protection and cure. As a doctor or a general medical practitioner your core responsibility is to protect the lives of your patients and not to endanger it more. Unfortunately this is what’s happening in most of our hospitals today especially in government clinics and hospitals where there are no strict monitoring and control over inventories which come in and out.

Yes, I totally agree with what you just said on the highlighted statement above, because failure to hold those who misuse public funds and items meant to be distributed to the general public is what have given rooms to what that hospital did, by either selling or refusing to use the newly bought beds for the general use of the sick people in that constitiency. Becuase i'm 100% sure if the doctor in charge of that hospital had knew the House of Rep member will be coming to visit that hospital that day, he might have brought in some of those items so that he can see it. But am happy he came unannouce, so that he can truly see the condition of people in that hospital. And i hope the chief doctor in charge of that hospital is been arrested and forced to provide everything he took.

You will be blaming the leaders, almost everybody in Nigeria are thieves.

Any well being Nigerian knows that corruption goes beyond what politicians at the federal, state or local government level are carrying out. The police man is corrupts. the teachers, lecturers, nurses, doctors, engineers some pastors and even an average person that sells provision on the street is as corrupt as the president. some of them are just quiet because they do not have the opportunity of stealing public funds. give them the opportunity of managing public funds and they show you that they are worse than the worst of politician.

that most of our constituencies are not enjoying basic privileges' is not always that the money for project where not allocated. it is that before it goes from the top to the bottom, it goes though different hands and each of them continue to take from it till it almost amount to nothing by the time it gets to the constituency.

Totally agree on this. Corruption is everywhere. It seems to me that everyone is corrupt except for some people who are not corrupt due to religious belief. The federal government is not the biggest thief we have in the country. Just give those people always complaining about bad government a chance to be in a position in the government, and they will do worse than what the government has done. The temptation that comes with having to be in a position of power is high. It takes someone with a strong religious background and good upbringing to resist the temptation.

Some leaders are thieves in the church, in the hospital, in the mosque, in the market, in the school. Where there is a position that comes with benefits, the leaders there will get involved in corruption. Including you and many of us in the forum, are corrupt. In the local board, those with a mantle are corrupt. Corruption is everywhere.

It was when I grew up that I understood what Jesus said in this Bible chapter - John 8:7
Jesus said, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her"

You will be blaming the leaders, almost everybody in Nigeria are thieves.

More than one hundred mattresses, bedsheets and mosquito nets have been donated to the Awe Local Government General Hospital and some primary healthcare facilities across the area.

The donation was made by the Member representing Awe North Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hudu A. Hudu, as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery and the welfare of patients in the constituency.

All what this man donated are not seen.

https://m.youtube.com/shorts/gJp-NRvAjlg

The lawmaker want the prosecution of the hospital staff
Abdullahi Sule orders prosecution of Nasarawa hospital staff over ‘sale of donations’
https://www.thecable.ng/abdullahi-sule-orders-dismissal-prosecution-of-staff-over-sale-of-hospital-donations/
As for me I will say for our leaders they donate it to the local hospital the issue there is people the money or goods will pass through some will reduce the money while some will not so we should not blame our leaders, some times the problem comes from we the citizens cause they give the goods complete to them and they will reduce for there own selfish use ,

To me I think the leaders are doing their possible best to send goods to us but the people in charge are the people selling it on their way here, Some of them take it home to for personal use, forgetting about the patient.
Example are some drugs sent to our doctors, they will bring it to the hospital and start selling them to our poor women's in a high price.I think they should be questioned for doing that.
Some expensive drugs sent to them will only be shared  among themselves and probably take them home for sale while some of our people are dying cause they can't afford the price.

Furthermore, most of our doctors are heartless to treat our patients without being paid first and the drugs are free , they will tell you to bring a certain amount you won't be able to get, they will tell you to leave the ward if you can't afford it.
Most especially is our pregnant women that needs drugs or emergency, they will be ask to pay, then why are the drug's sent to us are been free when we are still in danger of our lives.

Finally, Doctor's are not even changing the beds sent to the hospital, they sell them and take the money to their family, not caring for our patients under emergency, they don't really care about our lives, all they want is money. They are now after money and not after saving lives.

The people In charge of donating the goods are the problem. based on my observation the government will only provide the Items needed and gave it to a certain organisation that will be charge of donating the items to the people and that is problem of this country anybody that have opportunity to be in that position he will establish himself and people closer to him. Instead of doing his duty as he was commanded, And that character is also contributing the problems of this country.

This topic sound as if it's new in the Nigeria system, the system has been bastardized to the point that many healthcare collect money for immunization despite is stated clearly to be free if you refuse paying they end up telling their branch don't have that particular immunization, I noticed some irregularities in the health sector I  therefore made conclusion that it takes revolution to change the narrative because all sector if the Nigeria system have their magic they uses to extort or deprived citizens from gaining full benefits of what seem to be their right,

Salahmu well speaking about private hospitals sincerity and government partnering with them for fairness while running some of this free healthcare like that of immunization, is good but the question you will asked your self in our society today who are these private hospitals, I will shock you that if you Carry out feasibility study about private hospitals in our society today are all owned majority by government officials whose is using those Free medical immunization to their private hospitals once they receive from the government they shared it within themselves to sell in their private sector where do you think is the major market for those free drugs or immunization going where some health center claimed they don't have and the one they are in possession they also sell to those that goes to health center, the country corruption is a Blockchain connecting from one level to another, just like "Uhwuchukwu53" it's not new as the practice has taken the shaped of norm in our society where everyone has adapted to the wrong system of practice only few still kick against with all odd.

that most of our constituencies are not enjoying basic privileges' is not always that the money for project where not allocated. it is that before it goes from the top to the bottom, it goes though different hands and each of them continue to take from it till it almost amount to nothing by the time it gets to the constituency.

Why there is so much corruption in the country is because, the leadership is corrupt, if the leaders are really doing the right thing the followers will see the need to behave themselves, and take proper corrections. This materials is for the patients in the hospital, and the workers in those hospitals have no right to carry them or take them to their houses. There is need for proper monitoring of this workers even though they may be staff if this hospitals, but that doesn't give them to tamper with these relief materials brought to help patients.
Whoever is caught taking away what belongs to these hospitals should be penalized because it is government properties, and when workers are being penalized, others will begin to be very careful of themselves.

Bro, them say if they explain Nigeria for you, you fit faint. Things like this thrive because of the people. Mr A steals, of Mr b is not a thief, the attitude won't thrive. I think as a people of a great country Nigeria, we are at most part of what is happening in this country. And if we don't change, there will be more cases like this. It's sad how after the whole EFCC thing, nobody will be punished. Na so the country just dey. But guy we no fit continue like this ooh. Men suppose mount.

Clearly, the management was wrong to sell off the donations and nothing can be said to justify that but that does not erase the fact that there is a valid reason why most of these hospital workers are desperate for money. In so many states across the nation, health workers and even cleaners in medical facilities go several months without receiving their salaries or in most cases, they get paid peanuts that can't even last them for 10 days due to high inflation in the country, so look at it form the angle of workers who have been left starving and yet they do their jobs by taking care of the patients, that only point to the fact that you are literally begging them to engage in corrupt practices in order to feed themselves.

I don't see any valid reasons that will make health workers sell off the medical facilities that were given to them by the government, even if the government are not treating the workers fairly. We are our own problem because tell me how will patients be treated when those materials are sold out and how do they  manage to sell it without the knowledge of the authorities?, if you look at this matter closely you will notice that some of the government officials will be involved.

The inflation in Nigeria is not only affecting the health workers alone, every citizen is feeling the heat and if we all go by selling government improved facilities then this country will be gone. At this point the government need to go all out to arrest the culprits of this barbaric act, we can't be this evil even if the government don't pay attention to us all in the name that we are looking for means to survive. The government has shown us that we can't be dependent on salary so I encourage every worker to set up a side business for themselves so they can survive the hardship.

I think the things donated to hospitals which is not been seen is clearly not from the leaders but the people they do give it out to are the problem here, imagine patients dying cause there is no oxygen in the hospital and it's a General hospital, before they will come back to patient, they are dead already, and the fact they are aren't held responsibly it's not really right, this is clearly what one should deliberate on.

Secondly, imagine the cleaners and some other staff that work in the hospital in other to still save life are also not been paid, for that they sell the things sent to the hospital especially the ones their hands can reach, while patients complain there is no drugs, I think those properties should be properly taking care of especially when it has gotten to the hospital. In that case, both the government and the people are to be blamed.
