IMO, it should have been the month of August because that's when the ghost month happens. And if it's with these stats, I don't see that the majority of it has been having that bad month of September. The impact from what we've probably got in the thought of having a bad month for August translates that result into September. I don't know, I'm just speculating about it. But, to say that every September is cursed I don't think that it should be.

We can only compare the previous years or previous months and have our own conclusion, until they won't hold. With that, I don't think that there is even a curse month on Bitcoin market. Every month could have a different outcome, just like last August, it is said that it is ghost month, but look at what happen, we have one of the biggest gain if not the biggest gain since the beginning.

So it's wrong to say that September can be called cursed month at all. It really depends on how the market will react if there are bad or good news along the way to pull or push the market again to $80k or higher.

You can term it whatever you want cursed, under a spell… it doesn’t change the fact that traders move the market. But generally, the chart reads red for most September months. The ones with tiny gains are somewhat close to the end of a bull market, or we’re generally in a bull market or about to be..

That itself can be considered an event and since it’s been happening for years, more sell pressure will usually be experienced, creating a bearish movement if there are no indicators that show a potential buy. But that doesn’t mean it can’t change either.

Just consider it another chance to get cheaper bitcoins if it happens again..

8 out of 13 times, it is a difference of 3. It is not enough reason to believe September is cursed.

The September curse narrative is due to the bad market in 2017 and 2022. A true curse happens consistently, not a few times.

The psychology of some Bitcoiners is the reason why people believe it's a curse. It's just a narrative to explain bad luck. But some people take it seriously, believing it's a curse. Curses are spiritual problems. Bitcoin is too technical to be cursed.
That should be a difference of 5 and evidently not enough reason to suggest Bitcoin is cursed in September.  That is a misnomer and shows lack of understanding of the positive ending in last 4 consecutive years. The last 4 years tells us that Bitcoin acceptance and adoption have been on the increase so no more rooms for dramas.

Since it's not a constant or regular happenings every September, then I can't agree that Bitcoin is cursed in September. Following the records as presented from 2013 downwards, we see some years that it was in decline, while some was in the green zone. Though we have more of the red lines, but for that fact that it is mixed proves nothing constant and not a pattern. We could see it happening again, or moving positively, but I think it's just a normal occurrence following reality and market forces. I don't want to believe it's a constant thing and marking September to always be the RED MONTH.. nope.

I think that after seeing a surge in bitcoin price last month, the price can face correction this month which might make me believe that September is a red month for bitcoin based on what history has proven. It's clear that the odd of bitcoin in a red gown is higher than in a green gown. Though, past records doesn't guarantee the future performance.

i don't really like using past performance to predict the future because each phase of the market is affected by different factor.
however, i just checked coinglass and found something pretty interesting. when august ends red, september usually ends green, and vice versa. so i kind of agree with your prediction that september is more likely to be a red month.
according to the schedule, Fed will announce its rate decision on the 16th of this month, and i think that will largely determine where the market goes this month.

But that doesn’t mean it can’t change either.
of course we cannot deny that reality, as even without chart we can observe well what is the trend and what is happening in the market.
During bull and bear, there's different strategy, but this one is just mere observation, it does not mean it's correct.

if its red september then so be it.

Just consider it another chance to get cheaper bitcoins if it happens again..

Maybe this time will be different. Last year wasn't that bad as Bitcoin closed the month of September at $114,056.08, so there's every chance that this little surge we experienced about a week ago will affect September. It's normal to be sceptic and wary considering the history behind this month but you can't call yourself a bitcoiner if you don't take risks.

Yeah that's true because with the price of Bitcoin currently, this month is already going to be another different positive month from other years September's because I feel that this current price is not going to be falling back down within this month since it has continued holding strong from when it started rising and besides another sign that this September will be nice is that from 2025 down to 2023 September the price of Bitcoin have been on positive price so it will definitely continue with this trends and possibly even next year September also.

You will notice that this is a very different situation than in the past years. In this situation, if you notice that for the last three years, the price of Bitcoin has been positive in this September, I can consider that 2026 will be no exception. I hope that the price of Bitcoin will continue to improve in 2026 and that this September will see an increase in the price of Bitcoin.
This situation is much easier this year than in other years, and more people are able to buy Bitcoin and are also increasing their portfolio by adding it to their holdings for a long time. All these signs are very positive, so I can say that this will not be a red September but will prove to be a green September again.

We don't know, but it seems that September could possibly be a good month for this year. I'm no longer too focused on past patterns; we already saw that October, which is usually good, also ended badly last year. Although we might still consider the 4-year cycle based on major events, what happens each month may not have a very significant impact on market movements.

Traders attitude towards the market can also contribute to this pattern, because the moment a lot of traders believe that the market will always decline at every September this will influence their decision whether to stop buying or to start selling before September. This kind of believe or mindset will greatly affect the market as many traders will tend to take profits before this time.
However I don't really believe that historical trend will determine how bitcoin will perform in this September. Bitcoin has break past market history before and the fact that the market didn't perform poorly in August, shows that it is possible for the market to come with surprise. The best thing is to monitor the market trends first instead of to sell because people consider September to always be bearish season.

I suppose it's an exaggeration to say that September is a “cursed” month. While September historically hasn't been as strong as other months with regard to Bitcoin, this does not necessarily imply the same will continue to happen each year. The calendar has plenty of time to have a significant impact and can be just as influenced by market conditions, the amount of liquidity available, interest rates, investor sentiment and significant events. I also feel the August to September concept is interesting, but not easy to establish that there is a weakness in August that is carried over into September. Historical trends are helpful to help identify patterns, but they are not a guarantee.

is bitcoin really cursed every september?
As far as I know and from my experience of knowing Bitcoin and the crypto market, I speculate that there is no curse for Bitcoin in September, historically in general many people view September as a weak month for Bitcoin prices.

Therapy, if I'm not wrong, speculating Bitcoin doesn't always show a negative trend in the market, you can go back to 2023, 2024 and 2025, you yourself recorded + for Bitcoin prices to coincide with September. As far as I know, the Bitcoin trend has broken the "Curse" argument against Bitcoin.

If we return to the financial markets and societal conditions, in September many investors made adjustments to their respective portfolios in financial terms, whether it was in terms of taking profits for the summer holidays and also the impact on government policies themselves, for me there is no argument or speculation that can prove the condemnation of Bitcoin September.

Anyone is free to say what they think each month is but, you might be right that it's an exaggeration when the stats from different years of September isn't stable and not all of it have been dropping too low. While these can be helpful for someone's decision on how they're going to embrace based on that pattern, it's not everything that we can rely on with it. Those months can give an idea on how they will be based on its history but, it's better to prepare for what's to come and be consistent if you are one of those who's doing the DCA.

Speculation like this is among what made most September to end-up with red . When folks constantly hear about  “Red September “ , they will start thinking about taking profits or selling their holdings , especially those with weak hands. Market  conditions can easily influence their market sentiment .

Still is just a mere speculation anything can happen in the month of September, even that of August was given bearish vibe for sometime before all of a sudden prices pumped. September can end with green, regardless keep accumulating and holding to be among those that will rush and sell whenever there’s a slight drop in prices or whenever a  bearish narrative start spreading in the market.

Who laid the course?  Grin, stop being funny, mate, the fact that this happened 8 out of 13 times doesn't mean that it's something that is bound to happen every time, those were periods where price reacted differently to the economic conditions, news or any events of those times, if actually it is something that is to be considered to happen every September, I'd expect that the percentage of dip should be almost the same level but it's not always the same thing, which means it's just like every other month in the bear season that price is dipping due to some certain events.  This month could actually end in green because as of yesterday, price close above $81k with a full body candle (not just a wick) on the 4H time frame and that signals that the uptrend will continue.

Bitcoin reached $82,000 today, September 4th, and jumped about +5% before gradually reversing to its current price of $79,000, which is still a lot of bullish momentum considering how bad the market has been in previous months before September.

We have to consider current data and statistics when comparing Bitcoin prices in the past year with the current cycle.

I believe what's more interesting is the transition of the pattern itself. The new Red September narrative is less convincing from 2023-25, as September was positive three years in a row. I also would not guess that if it has been three greens Septembers would be all the way gone, though. What is likely a better model is to take a very dim view of seasonality and pay a great deal of attention to liquidity. Macro conditions and market positioning. This is even more unlikely to hold true statistically if September is to continue this year as it did last year, with green weather.

Realistically what I am seeing this year September, I am not expecting this year to be like every other years as there is actually a big difference and changes between past cycles and to this recent cycles as well. So I believe that this September gonna be different from every other September as the whole thing is systematically changing. Of course, history do repeat itself but to say that this year gonna be as before is something i wouldn’t expect much in the market, taking statistics on other years, we can see that this year September is started with bullish sign whereby the markets started bullish although there are every possibility that it would end up bearishness but I am least expecting that happen on this September.
