I’m still a beginner in Bitcoin and trying to understand how people make their decisions
How do you decide when it’s the right time to buy, hold, or sell Bitcoin? Do you mainly look at the price and charts, or are there other things you consider before making a decision?

Since I don’t treat Bitcoin as a trading asset, I choose to sell when the price is in a full-blown bullish phase and approaching its all-time high (ATH). If the price is still below the last ATH, I’ll wait until it surpasses that level before selling.
As for buying, I think any time is a good time if you have the funds to do so. In this case, DCA—meaning regular purchases regardless of price—remains a good strategy for me.
When it comes to trading, I can’t offer any specific advice because what I say might not necessarily happen when you try it. Trading is complex and carries a high risk of loss.

What about someone who can't afford to accumulate through the DCA method? Because the DCA method can be useful only if you can continue accumulating every month or week based on what you have decided for at least a few years or at least for a whole season, but if someone only has a fixed limit or capital, they can't divide that into so many months in which they have to accumulate at different prices, and they will need to make a decision about what price point they have to buy.
I think that you are missing the point about when to invest in bitcoin, the only time you can invest in bitcoin is when you have your discretionary income available,if your discretionary income is consistent you can also be consistent but if you don't have discretionary income, there's no problem as you can invest whenever you have discretionary income. Honestly speaking, bitcoin isn't a competition,so don't put yourself in an unnecessary pressure by investing when you don't have discretionary income because that pressure could force you to sell your bitcoin premature. If you see other Investors, investing consistently with the DCA that's because they have a strong inflows of discretionary income, this doesn't mean that should you also copy them, trying to do the same thing when you probably don't have your discretionary income could make you to use money that was meant to cover your basic needs to invest in bitcoin.

This is one of the big mistakes or misstep some bitcoin investor make when investing in Bitcoin, because since they just want to invest and feel among without having the ability to carry it out, sooner or later, they tend to fall back to their investment because it is mostly unsustainable. Investing in Bitcoin should only be done from our discretionary income, which is the funds that is left after all basic expenses have been met, so if you go ahead to invest without attending to your basic needs first, miscalculation may warrant you to sell part of your bitcoin so that you can attend to that pressing basic needs, so it's very important that you first sort out your needs first before thinking of investing with what is left.

If your net income is too small and their is no available discretionary income left to invest with, what you should do is to look for an additional source of income, so that you can have a discretionary income left to invest with, after all your basic expenses have been taken care of.

When to invest in Bitcoin should be based on your financial capacity. Many people think that to do regular DCA, you have to put a certain amount of money into Bitcoin in any way. But in reality, DCA only makes sense when that money is really surplus for investment. And it is not affecting the necessary expenses of daily life, emergency funds, or other financial obligations. So if someone has a regular income, they can do DCA regularly. On the other hand, if their income is irregular, it is normal for their investment schedule to be irregular. There is no reason to see it as a failure if it is possible to invest one month and not the next. Investing money for necessary expenses, money for emergencies, or money that may be needed in a short time in Bitcoin is risky. The purpose of DCA is not to try to catch every fluctuation in the market. Its purpose is to create a habit of investing in a specific rule over a long period of time and reduce the need to predict short-term market prices. But that rule needs to be consistent with your financial reality. For some, weekly DCA may be appropriate, for others monthly, and for others, investing whenever surplus money is generated may be a realistic approach.

Discretionary income is very important in regards to when to start accumlating bitcoin and most people often overlooked this , instead they are more obsessed with regular buying of bitcoin using DCA without considering their financial capacity. The DCA strategy will only yield or succeed if the money  being used is discretionary income, that is money we can afford to lock away for years. It won't be a bad thing for an investor to make adjustments if it happens that they are facing financial challenges, they can either decrease the amount or take a break for a while until they are able to stabilise their income. Our basic needs comes first before any investment, therefore trying to be consistent with DCA strategy while having financial problems isn't right.

Anyone who has weak finances or unstable income should first priotize their daily expenses/needs before deciding to invest. There's no way an investor will able to concentrate and hold Bitcoin convinently for the Long term if they don't priotize their needs first. Reason is  because unsorted expenses will create pressure on investors (especially if they don't have any backup funds left in their bank) to sell their Bitcoin.

‎Before investing, it's better to build a good financial breathing room around our  Bitcoin so they are not forced to make decisions under pressure. To be honest an unstable income earner who is investing in bitcoin might not even end up with Bitcoin (especially if the amount of the income is very low). Instead they can try to find ways to improve their income level, so that they can be able to Invest into Bitcoin even after sorting out their bills.

Make a plan.

How much money are you comfortable with investing without panicking every 10 minutes over the price? Best to consider that money as lost, so if something happens and it does indeed drain from your investment portfolio, you will be able to keep your wits instead of panic selling everything that seems like the start of a dip.

My plan is just like everyone elses (mostly) here: DCA. Buy some Bitcoin in certain time frames and don't worry about the price...

I'm not sure about others but for me charts and technical play a very important role when it comes to buying/accumulation of Bitcoin. I mostly look for major dips as those are the times when one can make good profit by buying Bitcoin and to be honest the market gets such dips when huge FUD is created in the market by the news writers or by social media persons. So whenever I see a good dip I always buy Bitcoin during such dip, sometimes I sell after holding the coins for a few weeks to secure profit in short terms and at other times I hold the Bitcoin in my long term holding wallet.

I think sometimes what people fail to consider is the conditions under which they are going to be selling before they purchase. When the price moves in your favour, it is easy to have a plan. But when the market turns and the price moves down or goes up rapidly, it is much more difficult. A person with a smaller amount of money might opt to choose ahead of time what events they would want to sell, for instance. If they were making an important purchase or had a personal money target. This also helps to make the decision based on a case rather than just fear or excitement at the moment. Clear and specific rationale for buying and selling is more important to me than blindly following DCA.

I think I agree with you. When you are financially unstable, it becomes even more difficult for you to be able to enjoy investing because there is no way that it will be convenient for you. You have to find a way that you can use your income to invest, and at the same time it will also cover your expenses because things are not that easy, and we have to understand that sometimes the backup funds might not be enough, but having a backup fund, which is the emergency fund, can really be of help.

It is good to have a very strong financial plan before you start investing, and another thing now is that Bitcoin investment should not be something that you will want to rush, it has to be a very calculated move that you invest in, and you will not even have to touch your emergency funds. This is due to planning, the best thing will be for you to plan very well, and only then can things be much better, and do even the DCA conveniently.

I’m still a beginner in Bitcoin and trying to understand how people make their decisions
How do you decide when it’s the right time to buy, hold, or sell Bitcoin? Do you mainly look at the price and charts, or are there other things you consider before making a decision?

In my opinion, the considerations that beginners should make before investing in bitcoin are by studying bitcoin's history and understanding wallet security. Because these two will shape your mindset toward bitcoin, so you have a purpose in investing in bitcoin.

It’s very important for beginners to form the right mindset toward bitcoin because with that you’ll know when to buy, hold, and sell it. A safe strategy for beginners is definitely DCA we don't need to worry about price ups and downs because the goal is long-term holding. In short before deciding to invest you also need to consider your own risk tolerance, investment goals, and never invest money that you aren’t ready to lose.

Those who make decisions only by looking at the chart are usually traders. Those whose objective is to buy low and sell high. Traders' decisions are completely based on the chart. But a long-term investor does not look at the chart, but rather considers his cash flow. Even long-term investors do not think about selling in the beginning. So they do not have to worry about the time of sale. If you are an investor, then buy when you have discretionary income. Do not buy with money that you may need after a few months. In this, you may be forced to sell when you need it.

Since you are new, you can save slowly in the beginning, knowing your ability. Trading is quite risky for beginners, even experienced people face losses.
