Is there actually a “smart” way to play Keno?

Obviously, you can't predict which numbers are going to come out. But there are still a few things you can control. I've been looking at Keno on several sites and one thing that caught my attention was how much the **pick count changes the way the game feels**.

You can pick between 1 and 10 numbers, so it's tempting to just go for the higher pick counts because that's where the bigger multipliers are.

But bigger payout doesn't automatically mean better option. With fewer numbers selected, you're generally going to see more frequent hits and smaller swings. To me, seed change thing is more interesting than pick count. Changing client seed will change sequence of outcome.
But your underlying probability or house edge will not change. So a new seed does not necessarily mean better odds.

For streamer, seeing any big hit after seed change is actually mirage.
Because losses that occur after seed change are usually not clipped

I notice that you created a gambling topic with the same format highlighting the blog but the topic you are creating is really attractive for gambling discussion engagement. I do play Keno whenever I’m down to my last money after experiencing losing streak on other games. Either Keno, Mines or slot bonus buy is my top choice game.

For me, I settle on the number pick which I can recover my previous losses as multiplier payout. But if I will play this as my regular game then 3 to 4 number is just my preferred pick with the diamond pattern on the board,

I personally used to like 2,3,4,5,6, and 7. 6 numbers. For some reason, I have this insight that hitting 5 numbers is easier when compare to getting 3 out of 4 or even 4 out of 5. And for most, 5 out of 6 numbers gives you 180x on medium.

But now I am leaning more towards 3 numbers. As such, 2, 3 and 4. xD

No, of course, it doesn't. There's no such thing as "better option" in Keno. You can do your choices with eyes closed and they are gonna be no better and not worse than with open eyes and "the best" strategy you can come up with.

There's no "lucky" or "unlucky" numbers. You can say whether were lucky only after game is ended. You can't tell in advance which numbers are lucky. No one can.

I don’t think there are any simple ways to calculate the possible winning variations. Of course, the fewer numbers there are, the greater the chance of hitting the target, but I believe that Keno is still mostly about luck. I don’t think it is actually possible to accurately calculate the probability, although I’m not a big expert in probability theory, so I can’t say that with 100% certainty.

I have not played much keno on casinos, personally.
I prefer other games. But in the little experience I have had on that game, my perception is that there is not actually a way for one to play that game in a "smart" way.
Mostly because of the random nature of the game and also because of the effect of the house edge.

I think the smartest move one could do is being lucky at the beginning of one's session and then being able to stop gambling on time, before losing one's earnings. That applies to Keno, Dices, Crash and any other casino game.

I have played a lot of Keno when I was starting at Stake.com, and I can say that there's no trick to it. It is just the house edge that you must think about and, of course, the RTP, which can sometimes be surprising.

My settings are always at "high difficulty", with 8 numbers selected using the random "pick" button, and I will automate the roll.
What I find intriguing, which is why I played it for a long time, is the number of times I hit the 6 digits. That's x270. Sometimes it could go to 3-5 times winning that amount without even depleting what you won yet. That made me decide to pick that game to increase my wagered amount, and it worked out pretty well.

It does not work like that. You are assuming that the website is collecting the results of the game played till now and will give different number on the next roll. There is no way to generate such things. If you change the client seed you are only revealing the old seed to check and verify your previous bets not to change the possible outcomes of the upcoming bets.

You are essentially randomizing and already random number and hence it has no value.

The games if provably fair then you cannot guess patterns in this manner.

Most people playing keno just set some numbers at random and continue rolling on them only. There is no such thing as lucky number here, if you want to survive in gambling you have to keep wishful thinking out of your head.

If someone hit 100x or 500x after changing his seed then it does not prove they got that hit because of his seed change.

Similarly, if you change seeds after your losing streak then it will not create any statistical advantage. If you ever hit big, it is actually random outcome of your new sequence.

We can say the same about slots. You can choose to play low or high-volatility slots, and we can lose or win, and that part is all about luck... It's just a lucky or unlucky session, and I have been through both playing Keno & slots.

I love Keno, and I play it from time to time... I tried all setups, and I played on auto too many times. I had some pretty nice hits, but I busted my amount many times as well. If your goal is to win more in long run, then there's no strategy that would work better then any other. If you are only trying to win like 25% more then your bet, then your changes increase and tactics matter, but you are still going to risk  proportionally way more money then your theoretical gains. That's still risky even if it's probable.

That's it in a nut shell.

If someone is trying to convince you of anything else, they are probably using some troll mathematics where they are trying to make you forget the house edge exist.

Most of the OP's question screams 'superstitions' even when he hasn't said it out loud. Changing seeds + PURE luck, don't ever try to ask questions again.
