‎I was just thinking how much I have had to input my house address in most of my documents and bills and what concerns me, as to the reason why I brought up this post is because all my documents bear a singular name in the person of the owner of the street who happens to be the landlord and while he has built his own reputation over the years, using his name on my address makes him even the more popular in a good way because his real estate property is registered with his full names as the business name.

‎I am sure I am not the only one who has had to use his name as a reference to address needed during most documentations or included in bills we pay, because using his name somehow promotes his name both in a good way from those using it for meaningful documents and also in a bad way for those who commit crime and have to make reference to the address because that's required by law enforcement in that aspect.

There is no problem in registering a business with your name. If people like tenants use the name in some places, that does not mean the name of the person will become not reputable anymoreb if the tenant do something wrong in the society. Only what can affect that name is if the man itself do something wrong in the society that the public highly against and that can send him to prison or something like that, and even if the business is not in his name, anything bad that happened like that can affect him badly.

I have other concerns but first, have you thought about the tax since you plan to use another person name for the business? Do you also plan to open a bank account with person name? I hope you don't plan to use your personal accounts for business account, these things will conflict with your business even if the owner of the name doesn't have problem with you using the name. Do you plan on staying there forever or it's for meantime, I don't think this is right for you.

What if one day the owner of the name want you to stop using his name for business you are doing. There are lots of unforeseen circumstances that may come out of this which may not be healthy for your business. If you are building your business because of the landlord reputation, an address should be okay, you can change an address later and it wouldn't affect your business even if something comes up later whether good or bad.

Who doesn't register their business with their real name? Of course, you will have to register your business with the real name in your National Identification card. If someone commits a crime using your business address, is that supposed to be your concern? Your only business is to provide the details of the person if it's someone that you know but if it's someone you don't know then the security agents will do the work of looking for the person. Of course, a lot of people do impersonate other people's business name and addresses so you shouldn't use because you are afraid that someone might use your name or your business name and decide to fake your real name when registering your business.

Mate I understand you well and you express yourself clearly, but for me, I don't think opening your business in your name is the right thing to do, considering future legal issues or companies bankruptcy issues, depending on the kind of business you own.
Your landlord was interested in owning the street in his name, that is why he use his real name to make the process of making the street naming fast and easy, since he already build and own estate in the vicinity, i know he will have other companies and business which are not in his direct name.

It depends on the business and place you are owning. Although another company that you own can also own the same place, and that landlord can start that company and name it and make it famous, but probably did not, even if he knew he could, because he might have already made his name famous or his parents might be in the same business, so the name could be their family name, etc.

But you said the name is his, so he is making himself famous. But what I did not understand is how he is making himself famous just because you have to use his name somewhere?

He is just a landlord, and if I ever have to rent a place, I will first look at the history of the place, to whom it was given before, ask these questions. It won't, so long as your reputation is clean and the property or the building or the real estate are gotten through legitimate means, then whoever uses your name as a tenant for illegal business won't gets the owner tamed. A scammer who rents a room from a reputable business owner may gets caught by the agency and then the owner of the building won't be summoned.

The owner of the building is not responsible for the behavior of his tenants, what he does is business, whatever the tenants does in his building is non of his business, that's the rule of the law.

The owner of the estate I only caught when the source of funds in building the estate isn't legitimate.

Using a personal name to build a business is a bad idea in my opinion, the exact reason that I can explain is that when something bad happens, not only the business is destroyed but also personal privacy, that's why many businesses use brands, there are many benefits that we get by using brands, it's not difficult to sell ownership & it's very easy for people to recognize it

Talking about reputation... As long as you're not directly involved, it shouldn't stain you in anyway. But mind you, trying to use a different name for things you actually own, just because you're trying to avoid unknown future troubles, is actually a very silly thing to do, and probably one of the biggest mistakes you can ever make as a person. Is it even possible to own a thing that is not legally in your name?... You just don't want to put yourself in a tight spot just because you're trying to act smart.

As long as there are no clear evidence that backs any claim that your were directly involved in any shady activity, then I don't you should be having troubles. In fact, not having your business in your name is only going to make things worse for you especially in a case where that business is involved/linked to a shady activity because it might eventually seem like the business was primarily built to do those things while the owner tries to hide his/her identity.

Owning a business in my name is one of the things I look forward to if I ever think of owning a business, let’s begin with reputation because we know the society now needs a good reputation either to work with, respect etc but, once a person is popular for the right reason there’s no level of bad reference that can affect the reputation except the person committed an illegal offense.
This is very common with estate owners, aside estate and streets named after a person, many business owners use the abbreviation method stylishly but, there’s no difference. I do not know how to run a business out there with documents that must be prepared, ordinary people will register their business in their own name not someone else's name that can affect in the future, which is called a conflict between the two parties.

Actually this depends on the crime rate in your country, see how the situation is there whether there is a popular person because his business skyrocketed it has a negative impact of crime or not, while still feeling safe I think this is not a bad business idea on your behalf.

From the references you used, it sounds like you are talking about owning properties and renting them to people for either commercial or residential purposes, and whether it's a good or a bad thing for the original owner. I would say that it's never a bad thing, and besides, I don't think you would want to use someone else's name for your properties and stuff because they have to be legally registered, and you can't let that go on someone else's name and you obviously can't use a fake identity for that only to save your reputation in case something bad is done within your property.

And, when it comes to either good or bad things that happen within a jurisdiction that is legally registered under your name, it doesn't directly make you the bad person, because you don't just give your property away to someone, you do everything under the legal guidance and everything is documented, which is clear proof that you have rented your place and the person who rented it is the one who should be charged with charges that are viable for the crime or whatever is done.

It depends on the kind of business...But anything concerning real estate and its where you dwell, it's obvious that as a tenant you don't have a personal address....Any address you're submitting most carry the information of your estate...In aspects using your real name to register your business...almost 80% of people established companies uses their real to document their establishment....Except it's a situation whereby they wants to hide information to higher authority such as government, they can decide to register their establishment or investment with another details....

In real estate management, if your occupants commit a crime with your estate address, government will not hold you responsible or come after you, rather they may ask the real management to provide information of the occupant through his environmental payment to the estate...I don't know if all the real estates have same procedures or not...

I know that they might have different rules and regulations that guide different real estates...so since each real estate have different policies, they knows how to sort themselves out if their's occupants commit a crime...

Social identification is easy since people find it easy to identify the individuals that run development in the area. Unluckily, this intimate association is a very weak weak point.

Why are you afraid using your own name? For me I don't even see anything wrong with using your name in your documents. Personally I feel it's risky to use other people's name in your documents, you know how silly human beings can be, don't be surprise you will wake up one day and just discovered that they have sell your properties to someone because it's assume the assets belongs to them since their name is written there.

It's really up to you on how you are going to build your reputation. If you are all doing it in good faith and you are honest about your business then why are you afraid of? Definitely your name and reputation is on the line.

And that's how successful business are built from ground up. You stick your name your face and make a successful sale. And that is no secret, and they you continue to do that in social media until you are recognized. If you are going to scam, then obviously, you don't want your name in front and hide your true identity.

I guess I have a different view. The aspect of longevity and identity. Using ones name as a business name to me is a very good idea because it allows you create reputation for your unborn generations. There are businesses that has died off, but the name still remains. There are also children who are enjoying some uncommon favours just at the mention of a reputable name.

So using your full name as a business name will help your relatives to easily gain assistance anywhere they are just by saying their name. Some family names are worth more than identity cards just because those names are business names.

If your services and products are good and of standard quality, no one would care about what you choose to name your business. At the very least, it would transform into a brand and where ever it’s found, people would have some level of expectations and a placement for it.

The name wouldn’t do no bad for the business except, its previously being associated with something that constitutes societal ills.
