What about Zcash then? Done a 25x this year while bitcoin has just gone down and sideways
ZEC, some privacycoin and Hype are among the alts that have gone up this year despite BTC trending down. But those are pretty rare cases, and only a handful of alts have managed to do that. Most of the rest still move with Bitcoin. Just look at the past few days. After that strong run up, Bitcoin is starting to cool off and as you can see, ETH and most altcoins are back in the red. The overall market trend is still driven by BTC, not anyone else.

In fact, investors who put money into these altcoins earlier this year were able not only to weather the peak of the bear market but also to turn a profit.

Have you forgotten that bitcoin is not always in the bullish season? Bitcoin a coin that observes seasons, and right now bitcoin is in the bear season, so you don’t expect that the prices will keep performing well all year. If bitcoin hasn’t performed well this year, it is justifiable, because bitcoin is in a bear season. Also the coin that has don 25x this year, can it sustain that tempo for long if bitcoin don’t move along with it? Besides we have always longed for a market were the Altcoins will perform independently without relying on bitcoin price movements. If that is happening already, then it is a big win for all Altcoins investors.

Might be good for alts, but I wouldn't hype up a few months of ETH beating BTC too much. We've seen this happen plenty of times and then just fade out. I'd rather wait and see if it actually lasts."

Ethereum is currently below $2,600. Has this happened after the Bitcoin market plummeted to &75,000.
There are more indications showing that it is pumping and moving towards the previous market price, only if Bitcoin emerges to make it to $80,000 anytime from now, which we give high probability of seeing Ethereum back at $2,600. But there is still more to expect beyond this, even as we begin to imagine the onset of altcoin season very soon.

According to CMC, Ethereum price is rising to $2,647 today. Bitcoin is also returning to above $81k again. It is getting far from $75k, the market looks still having the power to rise more. However, the market trend sometimes can be unpredictable. So, we must anticipate whatever the possible change in the future. Just don't be too optimistic with the current uptrend!
Ethereum price has dropped to around $2,5k and Bitcoin has dropped again to $80k. It was just temporary, now both Bitcoin and Ethereum looks starting to increase again. I'm not sure hw far Bitcoin and Ethereum will rise in the near future. I guess ETH may try to reach $2,8k and Bitcoin to reach $83k-$85k level.

In this case, ETH will almost certainly follow the trend currently being set by BTC. So as long as BTC is showing a bullish trend, we should expect the same from ETH. By the way, BTC is already above $86k, while ETH is above $2.7k. Most likely, once BTC reaches $90k+, ETH will attempt to test the $3k level.

Good sign for alts with ETH outperforming Bitcoin last few months.
What do we think this means for ETH and altcoins going forward rest of the year going into 2027?
It's great. But ETH is still far below its ATH of almost $5k per coin. If you held ETH in 2021, you'd still be at a loss today. You're only looking at the short-term market performance. But long-term? ETH sucks real bad. Same goes for other altcoins. Bitcoin, on the other hand, continues to increase towards "infinity and beyond". At least, ETH returning towards $2.6k is a good sign for those who bought at lower prices. Better take advantage of each dip to buy some cheap ETH before it goes back up again. Buy low, sell high. I'd pay close attention to the market, just in case.

So many altcoins are outperforming Bitcoin right now and will continue to do so for the rest of this bull run. If Bitcoin can hit $150k sometime next year, alts will pump 5x, 10x even 20x which is why I’d much rather be in Altcoins right now then Bitcoin.

Totally depending on Bitcoin's movement. If bitcoin still relatively stagnant, ethereum can catch up bitcoin quickly because it goes up in term against bitcoin pair. However, ethereum dominant can go back lower if bitcoin is pumping a lot. As you can see from the chart above how ethereum faced a significant growth against bitcoin pair, but it's dropping quite a lot when bitcoin faced a shortterm consolidation due to the rumor about rate hike. So many altcoins are outperforming Bitcoin right now and will continue to do so for the rest of this bull run.

It's obviously no. How can you think altcoin can go up without bitcoin trigger the bullish trend first. The bull trend of altcoin will come just after bitcoin has done a pump, then it's entering the consolidation phase. Do you forget the rule if bitcoin is ruling the crypto? Altcoin would not be recovering if bitcoin would still stay between 50k - 60k range. It's bitcoin that is driving people to FOMO after it's growing pretty significantly from 60k close to the 87k. So it drives people jumped to the alts after bitcoin reached the consolidation area, which was triggering massive pump to happen. Beside that the pump for alts always be based on the previous ath. You won't see alts to be pumped 20x or more except it's meme or getting manipulated by some big MM.

An altcoin I hold called Quant is up 100% in the last 7 days.
And Bitcoin over the last 7 days? It’s up less than 10%.
This is the point I am making, during bull run many altcoins are going to well outperform Bitcoin.

If we compare investing in altcoins with investing in Bitcoin in the short and medium term, then yes, some altcoins are likely to be more attractive because they have the potential to increase in value several times over a relatively short period. However, in the long term, only BTC remains relevant. When investing in altcoins, it's best not to be greedy and to exit in time, because as soon as BTC's bull run ends, altcoins will crash.

Yes agreed but we still have many months of bull run to come so until that ends then altcoins is the place to be not Bitcoin. My plan is to sell my altcoins when they have a nice run and then with those profits buy bitcoin

Some of the alts I bought earlier this year are doing pretty well and already gave me some nice gains. I'm taking profits in chunks since I do not think BTC is gonna see real correction anytime soon. But better safe than sorry, hehe. That said, i probably will not dump everything into Bitcoin either. Keeping a portion in alts for the next run could be pretty fun, and i'm not gonna sit on the sidelines and watch the whole thing pump without me

Quant, Near, ARB, ZEC, even memes like PENGU, PUMP, there's no shortage of altcoins doing really well lately. But comparing them directly with BTC is kinda apples and oranges. Bitcoin's market cap is many times bigger, and when market corrects, it usually takes a much smaller hit while altcoins can get smashed a lot harder. Especially coins that have been heavily pumped, the harder they pump, the harder they can dump. Fairly speaking, altcoins usually outperform Bitcoin during a bull run, but they also get sold off much harder and some can even disappear when the bear market gets ugly.

Yeah my point is now the bear market is pretty much over it’s now bull time. And this is where alts will massively outperform Bitcoin. Bitcoin might hit $200k next few years? Great that’s a 140% pump. Altcoins will pump 140% in a matter of days and weeks like we have seen with Quant and others this week which is why I’d much rather be in alts now. I’ve seen altcoins 30-50x in a few months, I’m hoping to find at least one like that next few years and then put a lot of those returns into Bitcoin for my long term plan.
