This is another opportunity for those that are looking for were to invest their money without fear , although it's not a short term investment but long term. Minimum of 10 shares at #525 each which is #5,250 and it's about $4 . I will advise that you take this advantage. Should someone take this advantage to invest or not? Considering the fact that the dollar is still strong against naira it will return big although it depends on the activeness of shares in the market.

The shares will be listed in Nigeria market, you can also give the means that people from other countries can invest in it. This will been better than not posting posting about it.

US, UK and many other people that are not citizens of Nigeria may not be able to invest in the IPO, but Nigerian diaspora that have Nigerian valid documents can be able to invest in it.

If Dangote wants people from countries like US and UK to invest in the stock, it has to take FZE to the international markets.

Considering the fact that the dollar is still strong against naira it will return big although it depends on the activeness of shares in the market.

Yeah, but no!
If the dollar gets stronger against the naira, then your investments need to do more just to balance the currency devaluation, it's the opposite.
That is the reason why the US stocks were not that attractive to European buyers since the usd has lsot 10% on the euro last year.

Anyhow, what could go wrong investing in a company in a foreign country where ..well...laws are for the stupid!

Okay I have heard you. Dangote wants people to invest and it is now they want us to start buying shares when the high status class have bought the dip, it is the poor and struggling workers they want them to buy the top. I don't think this is a good investment, maybe good later if the price appreciates. Investing in stock can be profitable when  you invest big not with that shallow money that don't have any worth even in the next 50 years. Inflation is the only reason that can make it look like a profit on investment.

Consider the type of investor you are, If you are in search for quick profit, that is want to make profit quickly from this investment, best advice for you is to reconsider because the investors who will be making the most profit are the investors who have a long term view for the investment they are making.

Also if you want to invest, my best advice is to not go all in with all the capital you wish to invest at the launch, buy some first and allow the initial hype to simmer down because there are investors who will want to take advantage of the initial value, will sell and have the value drop, when the value drops lower the initial price, it will be another opportunity to invest again.

It's actually commencing tomorrow so nobody has bought as at today. So don't be scared weather the rich guys have bought the dip or not. Like you rightfully said if the price appreciate. But sometimes we leave in regrets if we miss an opportunity like this. It is going to be profitable if you are interested in investing it for the long term. Give time and you will actually say thank God you took the right decision.

Dangote refinery is the literally the only function oil refinery in Nigeria currently, and just in not more than 5 years operation it's already aiming at expanding it's barrel production per day, you can imagine the potential returns it would give in dividends in 10 years from mow.

This investment would benefit Nigerians more than it would for any investors that is from a country whose currency value is greater than that of Nigeria. But here's what the OP didn't add to the post; shareholders can decide if they want to receive their dividends in USD or in Naira. Am quoting from where I read it for clarity.
Quote
A key differentiator for shareholders is the option to receive dividend payouts in either US dollars or naira, leveraged directly by the refinery's foreign-currency export revenues.

If this offer had come from any country other than Nigeria, I might have jumped at that opportunity.
However, I do not have confidence in any country like Nigeria.

Biggest issue with investing here is instability of Naira's value.
I checked online and found that back in 2015-16, you could get approximately 250 to 300 Naira for a dollar. Yet now, in 2026, it takes over 1300 Naira to get a single dollar. Consequently, even if share price rise in future, a depreciation in Naira's value would result in lower actual return for us. That is why I am skeptical about whether this investment would yield any substantial profit. Of course reverse could happen if Naira's value were to appreciate. That is precisely where the major risk lies.

I also feel it could be a good long term investment. The Dangote's refinary market is already making about $1.8 billion in the first half of 2026 that alone looks quite attractive.
The founder Dangote is also a man with vision and that could potentially be increase the probability of a good investment. He has plans to Increase the capacity from 700,000 barrels to 1.4 million barrels per day by 2029.
So I do feel is something one could definitely want to be involved in.. Regardless there is no guarantee of profit as usual no investment has a 100% percent guarantee

I don't think it will be easy to invest here from my country. I researched on Google and found that there are some strict rules of banks for investing here from my country.
On the other hand, I thought what if the naira depreciates further? So even if I buy these shares and make more profit in the future, I won't see much profit if I exchange them for dollars. However, the price of the shares was very low and 10 shares were only 4 dollars which is like 450 in our country's local currency, so I want to look into this matter further.

I will advise before you invest you should verify if it’s real Nigeria exchange, if it’s not a scam price it matches the official prospectus. Then before you invest use your bank app, Nigeria exchange app or sec licensed broker  don’t send money to an individual, The dollar being strong helps if the company earns in dollars and pays dividends in dollars. But if it doesn’t automatically make any share return big. So before investing investigate.

This should be for Nigerians. And also for Nigerians abroad also. But anyone interested could still jump in. I will say go in with your spare naira so you done come crying when shit hits the fan. ( I'm not saying it will do that ). But then, anyone investing should he ready for anything that comes. So yes, Nigerians can invest. Dangote sells his oil with the dollar, so I don't expect the Naira to beat the dollar atm.

Anything that has got to do with this banks gives me the irk but we will see what good will coke out from it. I'm not even of fan of most of these banks listed here. This is not me saying people who intend to invest shouldn't. I have seen too many undergraduates jumping into investing already.  Overall, I believe this is just a tit for tat. I mean, a payback for all the banks who loaned him money to build his refinery.

These should be only for Nigerians and foreigners that are based in Nigeria because considering the rate at which the naira is going it will not favour anyone that uses dollar unless they are ready to take any losses, and also is this actually genuine because buying a single shares from dangote refinery at #525 sounds a bit off to me but I will make my research and anyone that is interested shouldn't be in a hurry to avoid being scammed. I hope this is a true information because I will definitely try it out when I do my research about it.

Many people are jumping on this IPO because it is 'DANGOTE" which could be the dumbest decision anyone would make. There is so much more attached to an IPO that many do not make out the time to make research about. It's not a smooth investment as many will see it and investors could lose their money too as dividends are not guaranteed, stated - The Official IPO information.

One major thing to look out for is the valuation risk of 4.1 billion shares selling at #525, tha'ts quite a huge amount, don't you think? Also, the IPO price will fluctuate as the market remains open, investors will always keep the market busy, those with the trading mentality will not get to place multiple applications to buy shares at a lower price.

The dangote we all know is a wise investor who's primary objective is to make more profits and keep climbing at the chart, but why he chooses to sale shares at such rate requires scrutiny and we need to be careful in making such decisions as to avoid making financial mistake we will regret on at last. I am not sounding this way to discourage any but just for investors to be conscious of there actions

Buying shares of a company can be very profitable, more especially when the company is reputable. As for dangote Refinery shares, I think it is an investment to consider, the reason is because the Dangote Refinery IPO has remained the highest IPO in the his of Africa at large, and it is an opportunity that investors should take advantage of more especially as it is a new IPO. Buying company's share is another way people can create wealth, but while doing this bear in mind it is an investment that give reward on the long run, probably within an interval of 10 - 20 years, and also depending on the growth of the company. Before now, people have been waiting for this opportunity, and it has finally come, it is not something that is compulsory, but if you are really thinking of diversifying your investment, I think it is worth giving a trial.

This should be one of the realities many Nigerians are struggling with here…the strict bank dunking rules, well am not going to say it an bad idea to invest in the shares but in all that let not be carried away by the hype…that truth of the matter is Nigerian are one of the countries I have noticed that are easy to fall for scams…no research, just jump into an investment without proper research about the source, and for this, if you tried to use your naira debit card directly to buy US shares, CBN has blocked most international transactions on naira cards…the best idea should be anyone investing in that share payment should be done in dollars and not in naira in case naira is facing depreciation…

Good information. The Dangote IPO shares are open to everyone in the world. It is not for Nigerians alone to invest in it. Foreign investors are rushing into the stock on the Bamboo and Trove app the last time I checked.

Investors are allowed to fear if they invest in Dangote IPO stock. There is no investment without risk, so fear is allowed.

I like the fact that you brought it up in the general board. The stock market is for everyone. For example, I do invest in US stocks too.

Common sense of capital owners is easily misled when it comes to profit opportunities. The strategies which seem to be very attractive on the face will make a person plunge into financial devastation when he seeks only to get his hands on them and forgetting about possible losses.

Signal that is serious to this effect is the sale of part of the ownership by an individual of the stature of Dangote to carry an independent research. The analysis of the asset disposal reasons can deter errors and save portfolios that could fail miserably by following the behaviors of others without adequate rational thinking.
