Gambling is currently banned in my country, and because of this, some ISP providers block gambling sites through blocking/filtering. But still, I can access most websites on this platform withour any vpn.

So is the only way here to use a VPN? Or can I access the site using proxy servers other than using a VPN? What do you do in your cases?

VPN isn't only option. Proxy can also work in many case. However proxy and VPN are not same thing. Browser proxy can only route traffic for that specific browser and its app. In contrast VPN typically tunnel traffic for your entire device. Also if your ISP is only implementing DNS level blocking then simply changing your DNS resolver will restore your access. But if your ISP is using IP address, SNI or other network level filtering then simple DNS change or any standard proxy won't always work.

Because you seriously consider to continue to access casinos from your country and with your new internet provider, please take the time to read the terms of service of those casinos you usually gamble on, so you can be sure they don't geographically exclude your country from their services. Otherwise, there could be problems in the future wen you try to withdraw money.

I think using a VPN may be the most direct and effective way so you can continue to gamble, but not all casinos allow their gamblers to use them, again check their terms of service. Since there are casinos which are friendly towards VPN.

However gambling platform often block Tor exit nodes, and performance can be worse than that of a VPN.

Before using a VPN for specific casinos, ask their support or find in the FAQ if it's allowed. Because there can be a compromise with that whenever you use it and you're about to withdraw.

That can be a trigger to your account that might use against you when you're about to take your money. Better be sure and ask questions before doing it.

As for proxy servers, I don't know the dangers about it but I have stopped using them long time ago when I've found it very slow.

I would be a bit cautious about using random free proxy service. I am not sure how wise it is to trust any unknown proxy operator. Especially when entering login credential, password or payment and withdrawal details for gambling account.

Even with HTTPS, proxy operator would still have access to connection metadata and information regarding your traffic routing.

So, my approach would be to first determine whether that blocking is occurring at DNS level or network level, and then use trusted solution. And if mobile data works fine then simply switching ISP would be easiest workaround.

You don't necessarily have to buy VPN to solve every problem.

I’d also recommend a DNS resolver. It works faster than a VPN, and I don’t think it’ll put much strain on your device in the background. Just set it to stay on all the time. I’m sure it’ll solve 99% of your problems. You might still run into issues on some sites, but that happens on very few sites, and for those, you can use a VPN as an extension. I say this because, in general, VPNs take up more space than DNS resolvers and require more processing power on your device.

No, VPN is not only solution. However if your ISP filter traffic using DPI then VPN would provide most secure solution, imo.

If you prefer not to use any VPN then you could try using Custom DNS or DoH/DoT to see if that works. For instance you can configure AdGuard DNS on your device. Additionally enabling DoH in your browser allows you to easily bypass the ISP's DNS filtering.

Thanks for the idea, I think it would be the best option, I remember that even before this, I used to face the same problem with direct links to bc.game or any other website, which I would later access through a mirror link.

Haha, TOR would be the worst option. I am saying from the experience of mine, I already tried that site on tor browser it's really worse than VPN, And while using it is pretty much the same as using a VPN, I was simply looking for a way to access without VPN or TOR.

Actually, mobile data is not always available or I don't get the same speed, which is why I'm basically trying to find other options, however, I'm now trying to find out if there is a mirror site for the platform I'll be playing on.

I never feel safe download apps of casinos that have no long standing reputation. I don't know, could be subjective on my part, but to me it feels like it didn't stand the test of time, nobody may have really checked the code. This is no insult against any casino per se, but I think there is a huge difference between downloading an app from a highly reputable casino with a long history and countless of reviews and downloading an app from a brand new casino trying to make a name for itself in a best case scenario.

Some casinos are funny, they're not direct with their inclusion of using VPN and still they don't explicitly state it's not accepted, leaving the gambler hanging on a lose end. I've learned from experience that if you're not sure if it's usage, you should ask their customer care representative ( not just the robot, but ask to chat with a live agent), document and hold their response as additional evidence should they in the future want to victimize you for using VPN when they didn't state clearly that it's not allowed and you confirmed from their agent that it isn't prohibited.

Also nowadays the cost of mobile data in many countries is very cheap and I think if you have it with contract with your mobile company chances are high you are having a lot of GB as bandwidth to use, so this is the cleanest way to bypass the ISP filters without breaking any laws or terms of services at the site.

It really depends what sort of budget you have and whether you can afford the "luxury" of a VPN because you can get a decent one for under $10 per month these days, it'll save you this sort of hassle but do you really need it that much? I'd avoid using proxy servers that are public because 1) they're just not very good and 2) they're much more likely to be compromised and trying to harvest any data that passes through them which could compromise your passwords or accounts. I prefer VPN on the app than using it as browser extension and they are not taking up much space. But I also use VPN on browser extension which are slower than the app VPN.
If you use a good phone, VPN are very good. Even on the low budget phone that I used them before in the past, they were also good.
I am not saying anyone should use VPN for gambling or to bypass their location. Many gambling sites are against VPN.

You can use a proxy it is the cheapest solution for this specific problem, but if you don't mind paying more you can get a VPN subscription. With that you will have access to better protection, more ways to evade this kind of blocking and many more servers and IP addresses. It is very easy and you should use a VPN for everything that you do online even if you don't need it for gambling. I would like to remind you to check with the websites where you gamble if your country is going to added to a list of restricted countries. Because if it does then you could have problems later if you have any significant winnings, you could be asked for KYC and denied the money. There is a risk to evading these restrictions from this side of things.

I know VPN will do that job here but it comes with risk especfially if it is a free one. We might be suspected for multi accounting abuse from casino when we use free VPNs and we will also face trouble with our verification process when we use VPN with multiple IPs hopping from one to another country too often.

That is why I said there might be a way to bypass the ISP block without changing/masking our IPs.
