This is somewhat similar to the call by certain members of the community, for centralized/custodial platforms to implement free AML screening tools, so that customers can check the AML score of their coins before depositing it, to avoid it being seized.

That said, it is also beneficial for all parties if a casino makes it clear to their players if a VPN is accepted or not, and not catching them by surprise by blocking their accounts if they are suspected of using one. I hate to say it, but many of these platforms are more concerned about blocking their customers' funds, rather than protecting them from potential losses.

However Bitz's current terms explicitly state that you cannot mask your real location by using any VPN or proxy.
I could see the same term also list all restricted country.
And I know that they require players ID and proof of residence during verification.

That is why the fact that Bitz promotes VPN as separate product on its website is truly confusing to me. Huh
If you're going to use a VPN, or their recommended VPN, you have to clarify this with support. So far, in my experience, I haven't encountered a casino that encourages users to use its own VPN.

A friend had an account on Bitz, and I asked for their version; they recommended AMNEZIA VPN, and the name of the configuration is Bitz-Japan-NEW.vpn. So, do you need to use their own settings to get approved to use a VPN? Because if not, they may flag your account.

Is the casino fully VPN friendly, or must players use their own approved VPN before it can be considered right?

And for those game providers which are not providing service to players from a certain country, but the casino did not forbid it, is Bitz going against their partners?

Personally, if the casino has blocked my IP address like geo restriction, it doesn't matter whether they are vpn friendly on not, I do not use them. I move on to the next casino because trying to use a vpn is a disaster waiting to happen.
That is too much stress to go through.

You can see this issue: Quote from: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5594036.msg67140340#msg67140340

Why are gambling sites not making it easy for those that are not gambling from countries that are not banned? You can see that Bitz make it easy.

If you think I am lying this is it:

Just make sure you are gambling from the country they support.

Read terms and conditions to know that.

What if other gambling sites are doing this?

You can download the VPN through links on Bitz.
The gambling platform I am gambling from must be approved by my country. I never gamble from a country that is not approved by my country, especially when I see that I have to use a VPN to gamble, I never enter that gambling platform because using a VPN seems too risky and annoying to me. No matter how much the gambling site advertises the benefits of using a VPN, it may attract the attention of many, but it does not attract the attention of me.

Maybe you did not see the second image very well because it is small.

That image is exactly what I asked the question about. Especially the number 4 part of it: if a game provider which is in partnership with the casino doesn't provide service to a certain country due to not having a licence over there and the casino allows a player to bypass that restriction, is that not going against the partners' rules?

This is a bit confusing as well as the casino suggesting the VPN is secure for a long time, I mean will the casino really not care in the future?

Allstars.io, Betpanda and some casinos in say friendly to VPN --- some people say do not use even though they are friendly, so which is the most correct?

There have been many mixed answers, but I see no definite case yet of withdrawals being delayed due to VPN use. Roll Eyes

Why are gambling sites not making it easy for those that are not gambling from countries that are not banned? You can see that Bitz make it easy.

Gambling sites cannot really be blame completely here, and sometimes it's not the casino blocking us from accessing the site, it's the ISP.

When you're accessing from the same country and one ISP works while another doesn't, then it usually points to an ISP-side issue. So the solution is either change ISP or configure your connection properly so you can access the site.

I've done that before and it worked on my end, it was just a small routing issue and once fixed, the problem was gone.

That is coming directly from the casino and you have evidence of it, so they really cannot use it against you later.

As long as the casino has a good reputation, they should honor what they told you. At the end of the day, they want people to keep playing because that is how they make revenue. So I don't really see it as confusing, maybe it's just a newer policy and not all casinos encourage the same thing. But if they already confirmed it to you and you have proof, then I don't think there's much to worry about.

I think it’s a good feature for players who want to use a VPN due to bans and restrictions in their country of residence. but the problem is not limited to this, the issue also lies in completing the KYC process.

Problems arise when a user starts winning and attempts to make a withdrawal, most casinos even those claiming not to require KYC will demand it at the withdrawal stage or in the event of a dispute, potentially causing the user to lose their funds.

That could be a problem once we complete KYC because the location on our documents might not match our IP address, and that could be hard to explain or justify.

However, since the casino itself already knows there is an access problem, especially for people gambling from restricted locations, maybe they are already aware of situations like this. Normally, KYC problems only become serious when a big win happens, so maybe we should just stick with small wins, lol.

Yeah, they offer VPN and state in their ToC that we may not use VPN. It's a contradiction. I also can't find a page or info that addresses this VPN feature by Bitz. The answer from support when I asked them about it also didn't satisfy me. They said they offer it so players can use it and don't have to look for another one if players do not have their own VPN installed.

For me, it doesn't make sense to offer VPN through a website that can be accessed. It's like you give them a key when there's no door. So, I just assume VPN is not only for addressing accessibility here, but maybe for privacy needs, like hiding your real IP address to secure players' information (their gambling activities, etc).

EDITED:
Support said, there is no ban on VPN on the website.
It's to hide your real IP address and ensures the security of your information.
So, my assumtion was right.

I hate to say it, but many of these platforms are more concerned about blocking their customers' funds, rather than protecting them from potential losses.

VPN itself is not really the problem because its main purpose is privacy. What I think is wrong is when casinos encourage users to use a VPN just to bypass country restrictions, because eventually the player could be the one who pays the price later.

If they allow or encourage VPN use only for privacy or to access certain games while making it clear that you're still not violating any country restriction, then that should be fine.

In fact, there are users who knowingly use VPNs to bypass restrictions and they don't always get banned right away, but that doesn't mean it's safe. They are simply accepting the risk because it's the only way they can access the game.

When it comes to regulation and casino rules, those are very specific. We can't just rely on someone saying it's okay. In the end, the actual terms and rules will matter, and if we violate them, we have to accept the possible consequences.

Huh
It is not confusing at all. People should just make sure that they are gambling from the countries that are not restricted on Bitz terms of service where you can see the countries. If you are not gambling from restricted countries, you can use the VPN. There are some gambling sites that do not outrightly ban VPN, but have the same rules as Bitz.
What is actually confusing to me is the why? If they say, "don't use VPN in restricted location", then why introduced a VPN at all? That's what is truly confusing Huh.

They should clearly state the purpose of such a feature if it is not solving geo-restriction problem. I mean, isn't that the whole essence of a "VPN"? I really don't think it's necessary to introduce it, maybe just to give a marketing edge and uniqueness during publicity—if this is the case, then it is useless because it has no benefit to the players. Maybe, it's for privacy purpose against your ISP and other observers, or general browsing protection? I don't know, but if it is the later, then I think it makes sense—just raising 2 possible angles.

Then again, if it's for privacy against ISPs, wouldn't that still mask your location against Bitz? I don't think the VPN can be selective though. That's why I felt this couldn't possibly be the reason—just trying to figure out a real use case for the VPN.

Support said, there is no ban on VPN on the website.
It's to hide your real IP address and ensures the security of your information.
So, my assumtion was right.
Guess it's for privacy then, nice find.

As far as Bitz VPN, I am not even sure I have heard of the site at all. I have been pretty busy lately though so I wouldn't be surprised if they been around for a month or so.
They have sig campaign going on for 6 months at least, maybe even longer.

But this VPN thing doesn't make much sense to me when in their Terms and Conditions they say that its not allowed to use "VPN, proxy or similar device that masks and manipulate your real location".
Also, they mention that players from some countries are prohibited, but when I set my VPN to some of those countries (Austria, Germany etc), I can access it without problems. I do know that many other casinos do the same, but its not a good practice nevertheless because we all know what will happen if you win larger amount of money.

I think the casino is well aware that there are many players who play from restricted countries and use VPNs. And for those who haven't figured it out yet, they've provided clear instructions on how to do so. But I don't know how the casino will handle this in controversial situations. Let's say you want to withdraw a large win. Will you run into problems with the casino if they see you've been playing through a VPN? I don't know if the casino can detect this or not.

Allstars.io, Betpanda and some casinos in say friendly to VPN --- some people say do not use even though they are friendly, so which is the most correct?
If those casinos say so, then i'm taking their word for it. It's a new way for them to bring in more players, so I get why some are encouraging it.

Those who are against it are only trying to help you be cautious because you could have it activated while browsing other casinos and then risk getting your account flagged.

But this VPN thing doesn't make much sense to me when in their Terms and Conditions they say that its not allowed to use "VPN, proxy or similar device that masks and manipulate your real location".
That's so confusing if that's the case, and might as well not use it until they update their T&Cs.

I don't use Bitz and I've never used it before but the only problem I have with this idea is KYC verification, even if Bitz allow users to pass KYC verification before they start gambling and later they start using VPN the team can use it against you in the future stating that you change location, I am not sure about it but it's possible depending on how friendly the casino really is, I wouldn't want to try this if I am from a unsupported location I would rather find another casino that don't care about my location.

You can download the VPN through links on Bitz.

There’s a lot of free vpn apps available on the playstore, app store or in the windows app for free which is the same procedure on the one you are sharing.

What I’m curious now if this VPN offer a high speed or it’s just the same with free VPN.

Anyway, I’m not playing on Bitz but I will surely check it out since I need a VPN on some casino to access them.

Unfortunately to the story linked in the OP, I don't think the recommended casino is addressing the problem.

In the linked thread, the main problem is that gambling itself is banned in the country. So, whether the casino could be accessed or not, whether it listed the country as one of the restricted jurisdictions or not, or whether a VPN could go around it, the point remains that gambling is prohibited.

The use of a VPN, therefore, is a violation or illegal in this case because the purpose of which is to circumvent the law.

Is the casino fully VPN friendly, or must players use their own approved VPN before it can be considered right?

And for those game providers which are not providing service to players from a certain country, but the casino did not forbid it, is Bitz going against their partners?

Bitz is VPN friendly as it wasn't stated in their terms and conditions that it's prohibited. However in using VPN you've to be very careful not to route from a restricted country as it might fall in the category of "accessing from restricted locations" and may be problematic for your account.

I would not use their VPN because it might be secretly doing the KYC on your device while they may be adveetising NO-KYC. Every form of comfort in customizations breeds a lot of control, especially for companies rendering specific services like a casino. I'll rather opt for a neutral VPN provider instead.
