To answer the thread title. Sadly, yes, I've spent a lot of time on the scam accusation board over the years, and I've seen this kind of situation(or at least similar to it) a lot, the casino will either suspend the account/freeze the funds and ask for KYC verification or they will limit the account forcing the gambler to basically stop betting because of how low the limit is.

Personally, if this happened to me, I'd look for another casino/sportsbook to play at.

I think that all large winnings or suspiciously frequent winnings may serve as a reason for additional verification. And the bookmaker may require identification, the provision of additional documents confirming the origin of the funds, etc. That is, such requirements do not necessarily mean that the bookmaker is coming up with ways not to pay out the winnings. All of this may happen within the framework of the procedure provided for in the TOS.

The flip side of this issue is how the bettor will subsequently treat this bookmaker: will they remain their customer or will they start looking for a more loyal bookmaker? Here, of course, decentralized prediction markets are winning by a landslide against traditional bookmakers. The payout is ensured by a smart contract, so even if the devil himself comes to place bets, the winnings will be paid to him. So traditional bookmakers will have to somehow adapt to the new competitive environment in order to retain their customers.

so question is, assuming you are to be the the guy, will you close your account with them? Because their characters mean that the owner of a gambling site do find joy when ever a customer loses.
This is not a new thing at all. I have discussed it several times and we all need to be careful of those greedy casinos that want to take everything, but will place all manner of suspicions and bans if an account wins too frequently. The gambling industry is a business that thrives on how much losses their customers are able to record, not how much payout they make. Put it into perspective; do you have gains by giving out goods for free or by selling them for money?!  Casinos are not some crowdfunding platforms, but this behavior was terrible from them and i would have done the same thing too.

Because their characters mean that the owner of a gambling site do find joy when ever a customer loses.

If I were forced to go through the KYC procedure (provided I was fully paid afterwards), I would continue using the service, hoping that having completed it would guarantee no problems in the future. Emotionally, of course, one might want to spite such a service by leaving it, but rationally speaking, it makes sense to stay where the "gray area" issue has already been resolved. As for the practical reality, I’m currently using services that don’t require KYC, it’s unlikely I’d be able to pass the checks with a passport from my country  Grin

My criticism actually lies elsewhere. If any user has been able to make regular deposit beforehand, and face no issue with placing bet or playing.

But then after securing any win operator suddenly demand bank statement and payslip. Then customer experience is undoubtedly poor.

You know such kind of practice of delaying fukin source of fund check until your withdrawal stage as problematic and disgusting.
This principle is common in a lot of business that is why deposits does not give headache even in conventional banks rather it is when you want to withdraw your money they will start their scrutiny. Casinos are simply following that principle of trying as much as they can to ensure money does not leave their system. How can a casino suspect money laundering over such a small amount of money if actually they want to fight that? The reason is simply to see if they can lay hands on something to refuse the withdrawals.

Gambling is a business. Most gambling platforms don't like it when one particular customer is winning consistently on their platform. I think that is selfish because if that same customer is losing consistently on their site, it won't be an issue for them.

Most sites demand KYC when you win much in their site. When the customer can't pass KYC completely, they seize the funds. I see it as a way to restrict payouts to the customer.

Basically when any casino starts viewing any winning player as a pain rather than respected consumer then you can be confident that it is time to end your relationship with them.

Instead of depositing my funds on any casino that stages verification charade only when their house is losing. imo, it is far safer to spread my bets & risk across reputable operator who apparently outline their policy about source of fund right from beginning stage.

There is no effectiveness in sticking with any casino that consistently acts this manner. You know there are far more suitable alternative available to us now.

gambling platform makes most of their income when you are losing,so of course the owner should be happy when you are losing. The question i want to ask is ,when your friend was registering with that platform, did he read their terms and conditions? that is where i will blame him if he doesn't because that should be the first time he should read before accepting to register on that platform.

Again, I don't like the way the platform block his account,it was as if they wanted to steal his winnings by restricting his account,if not that he contacted their customer service,he wouldn't have known what was the problem. It would have been more professional if the platform had send him an email stating why they block his account so that he wouldn't panic. if i were him,i will continue to use the platform but i wouldn't deposit such huge amounts of money on that platform again.

That's why you should stick to reputable casinos. Although, this kind of situation happens in almost all casinos, especially when you suddenly start winning. When you're losing a lot, these casinos have no reason to question why you're losing. But the moment you start winning, you get their attention, and they begin giving you different reasons why they think you may have violated some rules on their site. It's kind of ridiculous sometimes, and I find it funny. It can also be a big red flag for some casinos. You can't expect a player to lose all the time and then start questioning them the moment they go on a winning streak. Sometimes, it just feels like another way to hold back your profits.

Yes, some gambling sites can noticed huge amount of money that is withdrawable and find something against the person just like how it happened to your friends.

But I do not think it is necessary to stop gambling on the gambling site if he likes their service, but he may the thinking that the gambling site might come up with another excuse next time.

Just tell him to be very careful. Winning such amount three times does not mean he is going to win against the gambling site in long term. I have someone that won like this before. He used higher amount of money and losses began.
It's a fact that he won huge amounts three consecutive times but let's face facts here, his stakes were high and that's the reason he was able to get such high rewards which doesn't really seem like much of a big deal. There has been several cases of casinos accusing players of fraud and other things just to deprive them of their win but In this case perhaps it was a mistake.

You cannot blame him for closing his account on the site because there is a probability that such might happen again, even after solving the issue the players trust has already been broken. But like you said, he has to be careful because him being lucky doesn't mean he can always get the same result even if he switches to a different casino.

Although a wager of several hundred bucks is quite a bit of money for an average player, it's not the amount you'd think could cause problems. As you said that you've spent a lot of time on the scam accusation board and seen similar situations, what would you say is the normal limit for someone to have their account frozen? As it has never happened to me, I don't know if the amount mentioned by the OP would be a low enough amount that could justify looking for a new casino, or if it falls within the industry standard.

Because of this incident that happened to my colleagues, he withdraw all the money and close the account, so question is, assuming you are to be the the guy, will you close your account with them? Because their characters mean that the owner of a gambling site do find joy when ever a customer loses.
One of the things to learn in sources of income is that you don't allow your emotion to come in the way and stop you from taking advantage of an opportunity that is worth yielding returns to you eventually. on their own end, they have every right to question your source of income if it is part of their policy but that does not mean that you should stop dealing with them after they have released your winning to you eventually. Casino exist for profit making sake and the relationship your share with them puts them ahead of you in most instance. it is unwise to think that they want you to win or that they are happy when you win.

There is this my colleague that doesn't have fear if he loses or wins but what he focus more is how to be winning always and not minding regardless to his high staking power, that he might lose most times too but the last amount he stake with, was $377.28 to win $754.56, and this my colleagues was lucky to have won $754.56 three times in a role using $377.28 as his staking power, do you know what the betting site he was using to place all those betting, they blocked his account and tag him for money laundry and do you guys know the funniest part, upon his winning, that my colleagues has not withdraw any of his winnings from the online betting site and he was able to contact some of his friends...
I think in a situation like this, I would probably withdraw all my money and stop using that sportsbook too, although the fact that they carried out an additional check after several large wins doesn’t necessarily mean that the bookmaker was trying to steal the player’s money.
Casinos and sportsbooks are indeed required to carry out AML/KYC checks and sometimes verify the source of funds as well. So asking for a bank statement or proof of income isn’t anything unusual by itself, especially if someone regularly places fairly large bets.

And the fact that a bookmaker makes money when customers lose is true, but that’s simply how the sportsbook business model works. For me, the real problem starts when the rules and checks are applied differently to deposits and withdrawals. If they accept your money instantly, but then suddenly create a lot of extra obstacles when you win and try to withdraw it, that can definitely be a good reason to move to another platform.

I don't really blame him for the decision he took, he was obviously annoyed with the rigorous checks. Anyone could do the same if they found themselves in his shoes. The staking power and winning is not that high, I don't view that deposit high enough for the casino to initiate proof of funds on him, or maybe he has deposited similar or higher amounts for long and the casino had to validate his income source. Anyways, it's their business and you gotta play by their rules.
Maybe you should talk to him to watch his gambling habits, it's excessive in my description, unless he has an unlimited supply of funds which is hardly the case.

This issue is one of the reason most persons have problems with online casinos and it is very wise you read up the terms and condition of these online betting platform before you debit money into an account, because sometimes these guys have funny policies hidden inside them that requires you to have played and lost enough money before you can even redraw a win, just different ways to frustrate you. Your guy was patient enough, there have been many cases like this and the victims just ended up forgetting about the money because they can frustrate you and if you are not desperate for that money at that time, you will just forfeit it. Your guy was definitely wise to just withdraw everything and just leave the account.

OP, considering your friend's experience or for a customer the experience must have been annoying and risky because he still hadn't withdrawn any winnings and faced account restrictions. The biggest risk of such a platform to me is that the customer has no immediate control over the balance in that situation.

On the other hand, a betting site can close a user's account for various reasons. However, I don't see any logical reason to close an account just because they have suspected KYC rechecks or verified the source of funds. He may think that some new unpleasant incident may happen to him later, but one thing to remember is that such a large win after a while can raise suspicions on any betting site.

But yes, the way the company ultimately reacted is a matter of consideration because if they weren't fair enough, your friend wouldn't have gotten fund back.

Blocking a gamblers account is absolutely possible, because no gambling platform want to loose money so they each time you win a bet especially when it is regular, they will definitely place your account in watch, and when you win more than expected they will have no option than to close your betting account, but as far as I know, people in this category are very few, and in most cases they are people who gamble with big amount of money with very small selection. It is true that when you win good amount of money in any gambling platform, and especially if your gambling account is unverified, they will definitely delay your payment pending when your identity is properly verified, and sometimes it could also be a purposeful act just to deny your wins. Nevertheless, choosing a well known bookie for gambling is necessary because those bookies who also prioritize their own reputation, and business transparency will ensure good, and proper customer services.

Thankfully the situation was solved and your friend was able to cashout his money. I think the casino was reasonable in the end, because after your friend showed proof of his legitimacy as gambler, they allowed him to withdraw the money as wished. At first glance the casino looked shady, but if they were real scammers, they would have created even further issues and excuses to difficult your colleague withdrawing his funds.

Your friend is in his right to terminate his personal account on that platform, though, and of course there are many other alternatives where to play while trying to have a less problematic experience.

What about the gambling site that will not give him back his money? Or scam gambling site? But the gambling site gave him his money when he proved that he is not into anything illicit or illegal. Just know that any gambling site can do that, so I will not blame the gambling site at all. He can also experience the same thing on any other gambling site than experiencing it again on the particular gambling site.

Come to think of it how possible is it for you to experience a steady winning in gambling, winning streak is not consistent as summit think of it, this is why many we believe that it is more easy to lose than to win in gambling, but there are actually occasions whereby we also have the opportunity of winning, which is impressive also, but once there is no any form of suspiciousness over this winning will the casino allow us to continue with gambling without them flagging the account.
