Offering Merits…..

Well i didnt know i would be the one to stumble upon this but i have gotten a PM from. MrEazyLife and he has offered me 20 merits, has asked me if i needed 20 free merits and i would classify this as offering merits which i believe is discouraged on the forum, he sent me a PM on 8 September sadly i saw it now so im reporting late. The user is a Nigerian and i have checked his posts which are not Ai also his merit summary doesn’t look suspicious but i believe he will have many ALTs because how would he provide me 20 merits if he himself has 23….

Im curious to know to who else he has sent this PM and how many ALTs he has involved in a FARM.

This is definitely an alternative account of someone but you would have been patient enough to get the full offer because he will not make the offer without some conditions attached. Assuming you pretended to be interested,  then he will reveal the full offer and possible other accounts connected to his farm so that some DT members would have done the forum a great service.

Peculiar behavior. I know certain country subforums are notorious for merit farming but this makes no sense. I don't know why anyone would send such PMs

Not only does he have only 23, but he's sent 6, so technically he has only 5 sendables in that account. The account is just proxy, the main culprit is a higher ranking account. This kind of message is common from shady accounts when you're close to your next rank. Most people should have experienced it before now. I don't even bother replying them because there's no free merit anywhere, you should have to earn them yourself.

I don't know why but after seeing this thread, I somehow feel like this could actually be your own account, and you're just trying to create a thread around it to gain merits or attention. Just a thought, though.

I remember seeing similar case before where someone made thread like this and in the end, it turned out that the reported account was actually connected to the person who made the accusation.

But I guess that's probably not the case here, since you're Pakistani and he's Nigerian. lol (But I read some post that some user trying to be Nigerian to earn merits). lol

Just saying, the whole situation gave me you know similar vibe.

I was also thinking the same of playing dumb to the dumb but I couldn’t risk anything as most people would know that our Pakistani thread had an alt farm caught and because of that everyone is suspicious and if i ever did something like that then i would have been accused falsely of the Account being mine,

Well if you are “just saying” then I shouldn’t mind it much. But for your information if it was my account then i would have made it a much higger case and then busted it…… sharing only a PM and that too after a week shows that the other account isnt mine and i noticed the PM late

Op,You would have played along and figured out exactly what his intentions is all about. based on the question he asked you, he might be a scammer, using alt account to test your knowledge...The only mistake you made, you would have allow a rabbit to come out from the hole before you reacted..

Although, it has been happening, And i could remember vividly that similar reports has been discussed in the forum long time ago...where someone individuals left their local boards and create alt for another local board in order to earn a merit..but i think that such act needs to be eradicated...It maybe that the accused user may not from Nigeria but keeps posting in Nigeria boards with a target...

Your thinking is valid but I disagree with you to an extent. If you check both accounts, they are entirely different people from.the way the post. If this post was created for merit, it will not make sense that he will risk account having about 22 merits for the hope of earn who know how many merits. Although anything is possible because the forum is big and made up of people with different thinking, who knows if you will be right !

Ok, so this person Eagleyes669 is a pakistani Account, he also has posts in the Local thread and along with that i have guided him too since he came to this forum but he has been inconsistent with his profile. As you see his first two posts i have replied to it answering his questions and because of that he approached me and wanted to send me the dollar amount from joeperry’s campaign and he wanted pakistani currency, and i had PKR with me at that time so i sent him my address and he sent me the dollars i sent him the PKR equivalent, after some time he tried to send me some more amount but i ignored it as i didnt want to trade again with him,

@HustleZ did not expose any sensitive information that would expose @Eagleyes669 and his privacy. There was an accusation that was raised and he just provided proof with a screenshot to substantiate his explanation.

I actually disagree with your opinion of sharing the message. While I normally do not share the messages sent to me, I do believe that if a situation calls for it, then I have the right to share a message. Sending me a message does not say that I have to destroy said message or keep it private. It's just a personal message that was sent to me.

Emm... You should know by now that just because a user has suspicions about your move doesn't mean they're right or you're innocent. Either way, an account cannot be tagged without proper evidence that points to a possible connection. You should have probed him a bit more to know his next move. Now it's a dead end because the accused didn't state exactly what his intentions were.

It's all situational is all I am saying. For example, if someone messages me and says this is my alt, can I join whatever I may be handling at the time? Then later on down the road, that alt account is scamming users and proof is presented, then I will share the pm to the community and tag both accounts.

You're not bound by a contract to not publish PMs. Anything anyone sends to you can be used against you at a later date if they choose, so if you don't want something public you shouldn't share it with someone in PM.

The OP is not wrong by trying to protect themselves.

I wouldnt classify this as a coincidence, this user as i said was new to the forum and would post that he needs guidance, and the two posts he made regarding him needing help i had replied to him by giving him beneficial information. So i dont know, But it “Can” be a way he tried to appreciate my attention. Besides, i dont control who gives me merit nor i know anyone’s intentions.

True. You might not actually know what the person's motive is for offering; either they just want to be intrusive and annoying or they want to check if the person might fall for the trap and then they may bring it back here and make it look like they have caught someone who trades merits, who knows.
 I understand that the OP had to quickly report this PM so it wouldn't look like he entertained the idea that's why they couldn't get more Intel on the motive of the sender.
