Short answer is Yes, gambling ads can harm anyone and it can influence someone to go and try gambling.

But I have a debate with this from a friend and my arguments is that it depends on who is reading the ads. If you are that person who easily tempted and succumb to it, they it will harm you.

However, there are individuals who are not going to be affected by this ads, and will just laugh it off.

So it will only affect those persons that are vulnerable and weak.

In my own perspective I do not see it to be that these gambling site are currently attributing to issues surrending the gambling industry as I believe that everyone has their personal choices and decisions on what to do and what not to do. As a matter of fact, there is no gambling site that do calls people to gamble when doing their advertisement on any platform or even on social media but it's left for everyone gambling to decide on their own on when to gamble, when to stop, how much to be used to gamble. Even if you looked at the gambling warning you would noticed that they also warned about underage gambling and they also lost out the minimum age to gamble.

From my experience, they're not causing much harm, maybe they are to impulsive gamblers, but not to casual and non-gamblers. In the past, before the advent of TV and TV commercials hosting these ads, there has been gamblers and gambling addicts. What is even causing harm in this era is online gambling and casinos—especially unregulated, no-kyc casinos—which makes it easy for underage individuals to gamble.

This research shows that what influences people (non-gamblers) into gambling are primarily peers and social groups. Ads only affect gamblers—especially impulsive gamblers—much more than any other person. This research highlights that exact point.

And these hold true because: from my experience, before I started gambling, I had no grasp on the various terms and options in gambling. I didn't know what over or under 2.5 was, I didn't know what 1 X 2 was, I had no idea about anything, and gambling ads can not give you these. These concepts were explained to me by a friend, and I was never for once influenced by any ad, and up until now, I'm not influenced by ads—I won't use my individual experiences as standard, but it conforms to the research stated above.

So yeah, ads while being harmful to impulsive gamblers—which they'll go ahead to gamble anyway, with or without an ad—is not all that harmful to a non-gambler or a casual gambler.

This is a complex and multifaceted issue. Of course, gambling advertising can push many people toward addiction. However, people who are so easily pushed into addiction will still, sooner or later, find the courage to immerse themselves in gambling. To me I don't see gambling ads is a problem,my major concern are those faking it while doing the advertisment, whereby deceiving people into it ,many are addicted because they believed in wrong ads,and I feel that is what can caused the banning of gambling,some influencer are paid to fake their slips,which is the reason many gamblers believe they can do it if so so person can make it through gambling forgetting not everything displayed on social media are real .

No one can tell as to which extent that gambling ads can affect people. It sometimes not really affect people but when it gets to the wrong set of people, it immediately shows the weakling in them and they immediately succumb to the pressure.

Gambling ads shouldn’t push you to want to do something’s that will affect your overall financial status to the downside, it will only bring about more trouble to the one already on ground. A safe gambling practice is the best and the show of this gambling ads often should also be accompanied with regular adverts of the disadvantages of gambling, this is one of the best ways to tackle gambling addiction practice.

Blaming advertisement for gambling addiction is just way off. Attacking the surface and leaving the depth of things. I see no reason why you'll ban advertisement. Just ban gambling and let everybody rest. They are not touching the root because money is being made. Banning gambling itself would be cast atrophic.

It is true that the government cannot stop gambling ads even if it wants to. But even if the government wants to, it cannot control Facebook or YouTube's ads. Rather I think the biggest thing is that a user has to be careful. You see where the actual problem really starts is the false expectations that these casino succeed in putting in the hearts of some players. When people only shows winning slips and never the losses, what it actually does is make the whole gambling thing look like an easy way to make money, as easy as just to make predictions and multiply your money, while in reality, it goes way beyond just that. If the right information were revealed in these ads, like the wins as well as the losses, then players would be able to make more informed decisions, rather than just following the wins blindly.

Like everything in this world, gambling advertisements are bad for some people and good for others. Banning has never been a real solution. Instead of banning things that can be harmful to some, we should explain why they can be harmful and how to avoid them. Don’t feel you have to use everything that’s advertised. Choose what’s good for you and ignore the rest.
