I am not from Brazil and I haven't been there before but if you ask me, I will say the plan isn't that fair and this might causes unnecessary panic amoung gamblers. However, i wouldn't know what triggered this or what's their actual reasons for coming up with this development, but I'm sure this is going to tell significantly towards their economic, and I don't think if they even thought of this before coming up with such idea. But all I'm sure of is that, gamblers will always find their way around every situation like this and the government will be the one to lose.  Thus, this looks like another way of encouraging illigal gambling because there is no way gamblers wouldn't gamble, for sure they must look for other alternatives.

If they could only create a completely independent internet, like in North Korea, then it would have an impact on the citizens - they wouldn’t be able to find casinos at all, and only then would they start thinking about doing something else.

I guess it's just political propaganda due to 2026 being an electoral year. There are many people in Brazil who are against gambling and want it to be forbidden by the government, so politicians interested in such votes start claiming they are going to propose a bill or support a bill which restricts gambling. This way, they earn the sympathy of many potential voters.

And once the time to pass a bill comes, politicians make an agreement among themselves which is good for both sides, meaning some restrictions are created (probably more taxes) to justify past promises, at same time gambling isn't completely banned.

It is possible that this is the case, we will see what they do after with this. Sometimes the people want things that are not good and would cause more harm, so it is hard because you have to somehow listen to them but also not do what they want. Maybe they will make promises about this and later cancel the ideas with some kind of explanations, but if they proceed with this it would be very bad for the country. We have good data that supports that bans against this kind of thing do not work, and they cause even more harm that they do good.

So, I believe that all gamblers or betting enthusiasts will not be restricted in any way in terms of their freedom of action, simply because the government has decided not to advertise online platforms or to ban them. That kind of evasion makes the person lose all consumer protection. So if casinos are not allowed to serve people from Brazil, if you are required to do KYC for a payout then you will have problems. That's why banning gambling now is not really a good solution because people will still find a way to gamble. With everything now available on the internet and many overseas casinos that don't require KYC, gambling even in restricted countries is never really a big problem. Maybe they don't realize that yet, or if they already do, then their goal is probably just to minimize gambling in their country, which could still happen if they ban it because not everyone is aware of crypto casinos in the first place.

Yes, people will still find a way to gamble, it is actually impossible for the government to stop the citizens from gambling, however, the government can actually reduce the way or the high level of gambling in the country.
If the country or the government really wants to stop online gambling they can actually do it, but people will still find a way for example people can still be using VPN to have their way since some casino allows people to use VPN.

Crypto casino is running ad everywhere on the internet, the only time I can believe that a particular person don’t know about crypto casino is when the person don’t have access to social media or the internet.

Banning gambling is a useless solution, because you deal only with supply. To end problem globally, demand is also need to be dealt with. If someone wants to stop gambling problem, then that person or country must do something with both casinos and gamblers. Close casinos and find alternative activities for gamblers. Only then it will work. Demand and supply, basics of business. Deal with both and problem will be solved.

Although I am far from fully grasping the Brazilian mentality, based on my observations, I believe they will find ways even unconventional ones to place bets. Once people have experienced the adrenaline rush and excitement of betting, it is hard to stop even without a full-blown addiction, they might simply want to place a small wager while having a beer with friends to make things more interesting. Furthermore, it has long been proven that a total state ban on such activities does not directly prevent people from gambling. They will simply find ways to do it discreetly, leading to the emergence of a shadow market this is far worse for the state, which loses out on even minimal tax revenue while the gambling continues regardless.

Gamblers from previous generations and the elderly are not aware of the existence of the way crypto-casinos actually work. When I have mentioned there are people who don't know about casinos which use Bitcoin or other alternative currencies, it is because I have personally seen many people who still play casino games in brick and mortar casinos and buy physical lottery tickets. Even if we find Crypto to be simple and straight forward, there are a lot of people who is not tech-savvy and don't dare to get involved with Bitcoin.

I agree, because if they ban it some are like going to pop as mushrooms even if it's illegal.
That's the reality with this industry that the others can still operate unknowingly by the government and have some ads to get known by its users.
There's no way to stop it once and for all but, they can reduce the penalties for it so that every casino registers and obey the law.
But that's not how it goes and it still has got a lot of loopholes that either the government or the casino can take advantage of.

It's a very good example of what can happen in Brazil. I say it's impossible for them to implement that law. You can't control everyone to do what the government says. They don't even believe that themselves. Governments don't want what's best for their people; they want what's best for themselves, not for the people.

What can people in Brazil do? They won't comply. Besides, Brazilians aren't stupid, nor are they submissive. I'm sure that will fail.

By the end nothing is going to work. They can ban or restrict whatever they want, but gamblers anyway will find a way to play. Gambling industry is already unstoppable. Government can ban only what they can control. Grey market and illegal casinos will always exist. Additionally nobody can control local offline gambling. I see no point of banning advertisements when word-of-mouth promotion works always

The effect of such bans in terms of combating gambling addiction is negligible, while the financial damage from potentially uncollected taxes is significant. If the government wants to stop gambling, they should first try to figure out what problems gamblers are having with gambling and why they want to regulate or put a stop to it. If banning gambling is due to the high rates of individuals becoming addicted, then it means they are not playing their role in providing employment, which has led to the high increase in gambling.

If the issue is the high rate of underage gambling, then they should implement regulations to prevent underage individuals from accessing it. This might even work, but planning to ban gambling will be very difficult, and I think gamblers will look for ways to access gambling sites to have fun.

But the result is that it will at least minimize gambling activity. If the majority of the money being used is still fiat, then it is easier for the government to control it by not allowing banks and digital wallets to be used for online gambling.

The government likely already knows that they cannot fully stop gambling, so the goal is probably just to minimize it. For me, if they can significantly reduce the activity, that is already a victory.

Before government should totally shutdown gambling in Brazil, they should actually think about the negative effects of banning gambling in Brazil, it is fine that most of the people are since gambling as a means of making one useless but the government doesn't think that if they should finally restrict gambling in Brazil or any other countries, the government will be encouraging the gamblers to break the rules governing the ban or the same time, it will increase a number of criminals in the country because i see gambling as a means which erase crimes within the neighborhood, so the idea of the Brazilian government trying to ban online betting and restricting sports betting will rather curse harm than good.
