There’s an old man in my street where I live. He is always sitting alone and one day, I asked him if he does not have friends that comes to visit him or if he does not go to visit his friends, that why is he always alone? he said that all his friends are dead that he is the only one left.
I understand him because he’s already old and I believe those of his friends that died were old before they died.

Death is one thing that can make you lonely when you are old, imagine your partner grew old together with you and he or she died and your friends that were very close to you also die, and you are the only one left because you are blessed with long life.

Let it be that you became lonely due to a natural cause (death) and not because you chose to be lonely. I want to tell you that the man is not even happy that he is still alive because it looks like a burden to him. Being alone all the time, sleeping alone, no one to talk to, no family to check up on you. That's a miserable life and the worst experience anyone can have at old age. I also know of a man who his wife and children were outside the country, it wasn't easy for him because he was literally doing everything on his own without any assistance or support. Look, the worst fear of that man is dieing without the knowledge of anyone because he will be picturing dieing one day and rot in his room before the knowledge of people around.

We should think more about building wealth than being too futuristic about how our old age will look like. Life is not promised and people can change. The person you started a beautiful life journey with can even become cruel to you at old age so we should focus on more important things which is wealth creation.

It is the responsibility of every person to acquire wealth, but even then many people can become very rich and many people remain poor. This is the game of rich and poor in this world, so why don't the poor marry?
They will not look for a partner, they will definitely look for it, because in the current situation, a life partner is needed from beginning to end. I will definitely prove your idea wrong, where you think a partner is unnecessary, I think it is necessary here. When you get old, who will do your work, who will feed you, your brothers and sisters are busy taking care of others.
Will you be able to take care of yourself, it is never, maybe you have paid enough attention to earn wealth but your basic tasks such as feeling lonely and you may become weak while acquiring wealth. If your partner does not help you at this time, then you will not be able to move forward in the future, think now what will serve you if you fall ill now. Your money, your wealth will help you serve. The role of a partner is immense, so a partner is necessary in life. I think my partner is half of my life.

The thing is that not only old people are going to be lonely, young people can also be lonely when they don’t make the right decisions in terms of relationships with other people’, there are young people who doesn’t have friends and lives all alone, I can’t even live alone let alone not associated with people or not having friends. There are so many things that can cause loneliness, which I think from old people it can be as a result of death of a spouse, or divorce, this are notable factors that can result to loneliness, a man can decide not to get married or have children at the end when thy get old, nobody is there to take care of them they eventually become lonely and a dog could be their best friend and family, oh how I love dogs, they end up in care homes because the dog can’t take care of a human, however I think loneliness can cause depression and anxiety. I can’t imagine myself living alone, because that can result to loneliness.

I don't really believe that loneliness is only as a result of the absence of people around you, one could have a spouse and yet feel lonely, so if you only define loneliness as the absence of people in your life then you might be having some misconception.
However, it is relatively true that your spouse might play a very vital role in your life during old age, companionship can be very useful at that particular moment but in the absence of any spouse then family and loved ones could fill in the vacuum or the services of a caregiver may be engaged to help at old age.

When age starts passing, the existence of a human being becomes quite weak, due to which he is not able to do much alone, so he either needs his support or people around him who can take care of him.Loneliness is not a good thing. When someone gets angry, he likes to be alone, while being alone in old age is quite difficult. Therefore, elderly people yearn to be together and when they are alone, they feel that there is someone around them who will be with them and not let them feel lonely.  When parents see their children growing up, they think that now they have found support from which they will not be needy. Therefore, being alone in life sometimes becomes an opportunity, but being alone according to one's mood and habit, this weak existence automatically makes such words in the next life that he curses loneliness.

I’d like to look at this topic through something I’m experiencing right now. My grandmother is currently waiting for death, completely drained of energy, and we took her in to live with us. She lived up to the age of 90 without depending on anyone and even has a steady income. But if you ask her, she’d tell you that instead of spending this money on a nursing home to get good care from doctors and nurses, she’d rather spend her final days with her family. Having money and being able to afford the care you need doesn’t change the fact that you still want to be in the compassionate arms of people who truly care about you. Money is a tool to live without being dependent on anyone, but it isn’t powerful enough to stop the feelings that come with being lonely.

Sometimes in life, the decision to be lonely is a choice that could be due to the particular mood an individual is at any particular point in time, for the elderly it could be quite devastating to be lonely and that's why elderly people tend to always have people around them because as they get older their mental health or mental capacity deteriorates and they may not be able to do for themselves what they were able to do some years back and at such would require some support, whether physically or emotionally or otherwise. Hence, the presence of loved ones is highly recommended because it could be a source of strength to someone in that category.

The man must be very old for him to have lost all his friends who should be his age mates in his area but one thing I still don't understand I this story is the fact that you said his friends are dead, does it mean they he is the only person still living among all his friends or the people that are very close to him are the people he was referring to?.

If you are old and your partner grew up with you she also died you will feel the pains and the absence of your partner will affect you but if you are blessed with good children they will try so much to make you happy by taking care of you and have someone who is with you to keep you busy. Old age is where we need love that is why parents should train their children when they are young so that they will take good care of them when they are old.

Old age from 80ths need more caring than even the food, and the money, the behavior of such age is more like children that needs more caring just like parents care, guide and direct their step as they are full of mistake so is old age from 80 above, sometimes you will even Wonder how someone who is professor will reason you may question if through is the man you know, loneliness at that age is very difficult couple who loves each other if one happened to depart the world the next person hardly survive for long, man of 80  don't think much on friends but more on his family where his expecting his caring from, and if that doesn't come as expected it's hard and worsen the loneliness discussed here.

I don't think that this clicks to each other. If you are saying that life isn't promised, that means that someone who's trying to make wealth can pass anytime whether they're young or old. While we all can change for the better but I agree to the idea that someone who's old enough can bypass loneliness if they have the money. No one's there to help them forever and take good care of. But by having money despite that we don't know what can happen in the future, it's going to take care of them when no one is beside them to offer help.

You’re not wrong about your first statement, it’s very much possible to have so many people around you and still be more lonelier than someone who’s alone and this is because it is not just people who takes the loneliness away, but what those people have to give. Just as you pointed out, one may have a spouse or even kids living with them in the same house, but if that person is not loved and cared for by those around him, then those people are just nothing more than mere shadows. In fact in some cases, rather than taking away the loneliness, they may even add to it and make things even far worse than it already was.

We ought to channel proper attention and care towards loneliness at old age as it comes with isolation and other negative effects that are associated with negative effects. such conditions are, decreased quality of sleep , decreased in physical activities, cognition and the rest of them. Emotional loneliness is tackled with different approach . Alber Einstein said , " it is strange being known so universally and yet so lonely. At old age, so many social activities are cut off this can be so depressing with a different kind of feelings so I think, we should care much about loneliness at old age.
