Fake coin on our wallet how do you handle that?

In public blockchains where addresses and transaction history are visible, it is better not to touch fake coins if you want to be safe from similar targeting because this is not only a problem of Trust Wallet but can also happen in other wallets. Spammers can attack any address by looking at the transaction history. So, if you are looking for a new wallet without considering these as a problem, it is better not to use the previous wallet. Because many times you can copy that address by mistake and lose the original coin by linking it to the original address.

Is been a while i used Trustwallet but I tried to go through my wallet by scanning through the explorer to know what coin I have on my wallet as most of them are not displaying, when I check it happened that there are some shitcoin or fake coin that got into my wallet through transaction or swap back then, and I have been wondering how this where possible for them to send it and how were they able to have my address to send me such fake coin. On trustwallet app, most of them I see it as NFT on the wallet but I have been thinking what could be the best way to get rid of those shitcoin on my address.

I dont think there is any way for you to get ride of those coins from your wallet because I don't know where you intend to send them to if you think you don't need them, and you can create another wallet if you don't wanna be seeing those shitcoins. I hope you know that anyone can send coin to your wallet once you have used the public address to receive coin or send out coin.

Scammers are often good at bumping wallets with tiny transactions so that if you are the kind of person that mostly go back to the previous transactions to copy the wallet address before sending out your fund, you can become a victim of scam and this practice has been existing for several years before now.

The address is public so anyone can see your EVM address, so this is what makes your token flooded with worthless shitcoins.

Anyone of those who have an EVM wallet will already have experienced similar, which you definitely do not need to get rid of from your wallet, if you use Trustwallet simply manage hide $0.1 balance and NFT tokens.

I think they don't even show in our wallet by default but we can only find out about them by the time we paste our wallet address in a block explorer site. I do this all the time in the past because I am hunting multiple airdrops and that is of course to know if there are airdrop tokens that have now landed in my account, only to found out that a lot of them are just identical or fake tokens those that are not coming from the company I joined. Joining airdrop or other forms of campaigns and then posting a wallet address in public places is also a reason on why we can get fake and shit coins as some can just easily scrape out the data's that we posted online.

I also experienced this, there were a lot of fake tokens and fake transactions as if they were sending from my wallet to them, usually the wallets that are attacked are wallets that are actively carrying out transactions, not just trust wallets, but almost all wallets, because I use various wallets, it seems impossible to prevent this, but to keep our wallet safe, never make any transactions with fake tokens and their fake transactions.

I have never experienced this before but it also sounds weird for someone to be receiving a fake token or transactions when what’s coming in is not really real. I wonder what rationale is behind this because some people will tell you they engage in things like this for fun but it still does not make sense because majority of such acts are criminal in nature and do not represent any good ends. We have to also be careful and know how we handle our wallets especially as we know such wallets are our assets and we have all our resources and investments deposited into such wallets.

Theres no way to stop some spoof or dusting on our wallets especially when we have huge funds lying around there. These scammers are monitoring those potential victim of their method. Sometimes when you check on scan they can make it looks like that they had value too so the victim would try to sell on a dex then when you swapped it you already been compromisef by their scam.

Better ignore those scam coins on your wallet. Me too wondering how not to be targeted by this but I realized the better way is to just ignore it.

As long your address has been used to send or receive transaction in the public blockchain, be it Bsc network, ETH network, Tron, or any network, you can likely receive such coins, they are sent mostly by scammers, even though some of them shows value, they have no value, so don’t try to make any attempt to swap or send the coins out, you might lose your wallet security to the scammers.

All you have to do is to ignore them and maybe find another alternative wallets you can be saving your money with, so that you will usually send the coins you hold there, but the wallet address that has already received such scam tokens should be ignore.

Some Web3 wallets offer customization options to display NFT metadata, including embedded website links. During the height of the NFT craze, many people fell victim to phishing sites promising free NFTs that were actually designed to drain their wallets.
Every new craze brings a new type of scam. The best safeguard is to avoid the greed of thinking that easy money is there for the taking.

It happens to an actual entire chain where the dev just deploys their fake token and even have some notes. I've got it with my old hardware wallet in the ERC20.

But what I do is just ignoring it, I don't even want to move and spend some gas fee for it.

So be careful with those fake tokens that have been just added to your wallets and don't get curious what it's worth because it's not worth it digging the details of those.

As long as you made a transaction or still transact with the address you are always going to get attacked but you have have it mind that those are very useless pieces of shitcoins and can not amount to anything ever since it have been sent likely they will be there forever so you have the responsibility not to pay attention to what you didn't put into the wallet or what you are not expecting that is the only way to be safe from poisoning attacks

It’s true that we can’t avoid such things from happening likewise we can’t control them from sending such coins to us, there is a limit to what we can control, I have some few of this coins, most especially ETH and SOL, what I literally do isn’t pay attention to them because such things are just worthless and they’re just looking for a way to eventually get someone scammed, most of them even comes from some shitcoins, since I don’t have any business with shitcoins then they’re obviously wasting their time sending those shitcoins to me.

The safest response to an unsolicited token is usually to ignore it and avoid approving or swapping it. Hide the asset, verify any contract address from an official source, and review/revoke approvals if you already interacted. I use the same checklist for early projects such as TokenKickstarter: verify the official announcement, contract, allocations and team information instead of trusting a wallet display. Still DYOR.

Same thing lands on basically every EVM address that ever did a swap. Never try to sell or claim them, and check the full address before you send anything, poisoning only works when people copy from their tx history.

One of the disadvantage of permissionless system, it allows everybody to create their own token, even the scammers. If you used a good wallet, the wallet must have a feature to hide your crypto that have value less than <$1, you should enable that and you're good to go, never really bothered with the spam tokens after I enabled that feature, Metamask or Rabby wallet both have them and so does every good wallet out there.

Some wallet enable ignore dust & spam token by default filtering by certain word or url inside the name of the spam token, the only way you can know you have the token is by disabling that option off or you searched your address up in the blockchain explorer which usually show every token on our addresses, OP could simply ignore it and problem solved.
