What advice do you have for my friend?

Based on my own experience, you should pay more attention to his basic needs. Usually fraud victim often forget to eat, lazy to take bath or cannot sleep. You just accompany him for meal, have something warm to drink, or just go for a walk to take his mind off for a while.

When i became victim fraud, after I can accept and calm down. what i do first are gathering evidence and reporting to the police. After that I put may attention to checking and reviewing my financial condition. Trust me, It will be easier to get through this shock when we have a healthy strong financial foundation which is stable positif income and long enough emergency fund saving.

Prolonged stress, despair, and a clouded mind, that your friend is experiencing maybe because he doen't have healthy financial condtion, maybe he do investment using daily needed expenses, emergency saving fund or taking out loan with interest. So after he calm, asked him to do checklist on his own financial condition and rebuild again his financial structure and his portofolio. The last is improving your friend's SOP for disbursing funds, particularly for investments.

Regarding become a scammer, i believe the law of sowing and reaping. Being good is part of our identity and is for our own good.

The point is, bringing someone like that to their senses is clearly not easy, because your friend seems to be in a very difficult situation. Like everyone already pointed out, turning into scammer is not solution. Tell your friend that do not let one mistake snowball into another.

Lost money can be earned back, but becoming a scammer, that's a way worse consequence and there might not even be a chance to start over after that. Going down that path will not just ruin his future, it'll drag his whole family and loved ones down with him too.

Don't put all your eggs in a single basket. Invest in bitcoin, invest in other assets as well outside crypto, that way when one fails, you still have other assets that are working in progress.

Yeah, another lesson on why you should not put all your eggs in one basket. Hopefully the guy out here going allin on bitcoin hoping to flip their money overnight will finally wake up and realize the massive risk of betting everything on a single investment.

No one can get over easily if with that kind if incident because imagine all of your hard-earned money just stole with other people instantly so that's the reason why his perspective now changes when it comes to crypto. Reality wise is there are really well skilled people can create an attack to stole other people information and assets that's why here in the community we also fed other members an information about different attacks so at least they can protect themselves and their money.

With that all you can do is give space to him because its hard to accept like that but this is not the end he can start again.

It is not easy to forget the pain of losing your coin, especially when you have given all your life to the coin. I understand his frustration and anger, but he should not think of doing something that will arm humans like him. Although scammers are also human, they have already sold their souls to become something that no one will forgive them. Imagine stealing from what someone has worked so hard for, as a person who is not used to it, you will always feel guilty for scamming.

That is sound of desperation feeling after losing money but that is right to decide to be a scammer. You should stop him doing that and reminds him that investing is our decision and needs research before we decide. We can't fall forever but trying to rise and lift your head and realize that everything we take will have risks.

Tell him, many people fails in crypto but only few could rise and trying again. Learning is the thing your friend need although that is not easy but that is worth to do.

If I were in your friend's shoes, I think I would feel the same way. Losing 10 BTC in 2026 would be incredibly frustrating, and I might well vent my disappointment by saying things like that. Being a scammer can be more lucrative because most victims have no idea where the scammer is located or which country they are in, making them very difficult to track down. I understand those feelings. However, please don't let your friend dwell on that disappointment and turn into a scammer. Initially, it might just be a matter of anger and frustration. He probablyade a bad decision that constantly him that much and instead of taking responsibility for that he is instead looking for a way to pass the blame onto someone else, in this case scammers, he is not saying he got scammed but he is telling himself he did everything the right way and still failed so why not do what scammers are doing, it a way to keep himself from what he actually did wrong and since he probably didn't tell OP so maybe OP should ask his friend to confirm what he did wrong that might have been responsible for his lose and then maybe not do something like that again moving forward.

So my advise to your friend is to start investing again, there is always a place of lesson in our life. Time heals and he will be better soon. He now has a better view of what the internet can be and next time he could avoid the mistakes he made either through his wallet securities etc.

Not starting again right away, maybe take a break for a while, clear the mind first and then start investing again when everything already feels lighter.
