Do gambling-related websites need a separate news section?

Maybe it would make sense to change the page background to something less colorful? Reading white text on such a background isn’t very pleasant. The idea of having a news column about the world of gambling and betting is actually quite good for a rating website.

And I thought I was the only one and wanted to complain about this, but luckily someone else also saw the need to inform the OP about it. The coloring and background are not eye-appealing; it’s difficult to read through the content on the page, which I believe will prevent the purpose of that platform from being achieved. The OP should work on that.

I had to make a screenshot to easily help op understand what the complain seems like because it's really not eye friendly especially if you're reading it at night the background theme design is unnecessary.
OP, you can make the background theme plain white and fonts colour black for comfortable readers view.

As for the idea for a gambling secluded news platform it's quite a good one, just make sure to keep it promptly updated as the events breaks.

Thanks for the screenshot. After several similar comments, I finally reworked the readability. I kept the space-themed design, but darkened the areas behind the text, the news cards, and the article and review pages so the white text no longer blends into the background.
If you have a chance, could you check it again now? Is it noticeably more comfortable to read, especially in the evening or at night, or would you still prefer a completely plain background?

There's no problem separating news from articles, since in the news section you're publicizing events and updates, for example. But you could also keep them in a single section and distinguish them with tags or categories if you're using WordPress on your site. That might even be better for SEO.

I like it a lot and it's great, it's great to find so much information in one place. I think splitting news updates and other shorter pieces from longer content improves UX. It reduces distraction for the attentive user and aids in organizing content. Longer content is generally considered “permanent” and users often consume it in a more engaged manner.

Consequently, organization and easy content browsing becomes more practical.

Short News content has an inherent ephemeral nature, and making underlying structure and flow of the site clearer by separating news content improves and maintains the overall site UX.

I don't know, if this should be on the Gambling board or the Service board? It's a good idea, though. Since it's a casino review site, I think news about casinos and gambling-related topics can fit there. I was looking at some of the interesting news posted there, and I think it would also be helpful for gamblers to know about what's happening with the casinos they normally play on.

I do not think that I will have to be following those casino review site for me to use such gambling site, of course this forum is enough for me to following up to know the type of gambling platform I should be using. Most of these casino review site are often being paid platform where they would have enough positive review about the gambling site/casino site just to attracts more people to start using them to gamble.

Yeah, this forum is actually enough for you to know a good and reputable casino, if you go through the scam acquisition board, you are going to see a lot of casinos that are constantly having problem. Those casinos that are constantly having issues should be avoided, and those casinos that have been in this forum for a very long time without having issues are the reputable and best casinos to use

You are actually correct some of all this website that put out a review of a particular casino are usually lies, sometimes because the casinos usually manipulate it through the website owners or they pay people to put out good review about them.

This is the reason why I do not trust review site out there.
If one must use a gambling site going through this forum is enough for that person to know more about the casino, except the person is not in any way connected to this forum before they will fall victim of scam casino.
Although, I also understood that whenever you search on google about casino scams the Google automatically filter out this forum just to know that there are more traffic and this site is highly rated to filter out most information from this forum.

I am curious if there would be a lot of news to have a separate section for it. For example if talk is about casino, then news or article sections seems to least visited, as people come to play, not to read. If this is a casino review site, then why would news even be there? If site content are articles and stories about crypto, then its easier and wiser to add tags to make search easier or to skip unwanted context. If this suppose to be gambling news site, then I am afraid it will either lack content, or be filled with every single gambling related news and slowly turn into junkyard.

I have an additional question then. Are there many people who are interested in reading gambling news? Those people probably are gamblers, but I think majority of gamblers prefer to play than read news. Sports bettors have enough of reading while trying to make an analysis. Casino players focus on the game and later leave casino to chill from gambling. People who are interested in news; I am not sure there are much who are interested exactly in gambling news, as they prefer global news (politics, technology, weather, finances...). Well, from what I've seen on the forum, the best casinos are not necessarily those that never have issues with customers. They are the ones that are able to resolve those issues before they get out of hand. Nothing is really unsolvable for these casinos. The ones we should be more careful about are those that keep hiding behind certain rules that seem to be designed to take from players rather than help them.

Review sites can help give us a general idea, but we shouldn't trust everything we see about casinos there. Like you said, some reviews are paid for. I'm sure a reputable casino wouldn't need to fake reviews or mislead the public. It's usually the ones trying to scam people that have something to hide.

I try to avoid reading short news because my brain has a hard time processing such a flood of information. Each short news item is a separate topic that I have to focus on. There are so many short news items, and the RAM capacity of the bio-computer in my skull is limited.🙋

What are the news about gambling that we need a separate sections for them when we can just discuss them on the gambling discussion board. A website that has the news in one place is good but are they going to continue being just a news websites or turn into a website for advertisement because that is what I hate about all this websites that starts with one objective but then turn into something completely different because of monetization. Gambling is not suppose to have much news and the other news are about sport events and that is not gambling hence I do not think we need a separate section just for gambling news.

Adding the date of publication would be good. The most current news could be old, and most people would be disappointed to open an article to find out that this information is outdated. 

I am also not comfortable with the starlight on the background of the website. I don't know if it is peculiar to me, but I think it is not eye-friendly. The characters have the same color as the starlight in the background, making it difficult to identify some words.

I also complained about the challenges I faced in reading the articles due to the background lights. I am glad that you have adjusted, and it's now eye-friendly. This shows that you are willing to take prompt actions in making you platform offer quality services.

I see this as a good alternative especially for those who are not used visiting this forum, or have not known this forum yet. They will have clear ideas on what's going on in every casino site most especially if they have future plans to play on that site so as early as now they can read different feedbacks if that casino site is reliable or not.

However, for bitcointalk members, having this forum alone is already a good to go. There are different casino sites that are listed, and you can really tell if those certain feedbacks are coming from real gamblers or not, as there are also scam sites where feedbacks are just manipulated and not from gamblers real life experiences.

Having separate news section is really smart move from UI/UX perspective. Imo, time sensitive update shouldn't be mixed in with main review articles. Main reviews should remain uncluttered so that we can easily find our preferred long term option. I think news feed like this would give us quick overview of industry update and casino policy change without feeling tedious.

That’s great point about relevance! If I talk about myself, I usually visit review site just once to find trustworthy casino. But i think regularly updated news section can give us reason to keep coming back. Staying informed about changes, regulatory update or scam alert is crucial for the safety of player. Depending on these factor they will decide where to deposit their money.

I didn’t want to get rid of the space theme completely, so I tried to keep the overall style while making the text easier to read. Good to know it actually feels better now.
I also agree about the dates. After a few people mentioned it, it became pretty clear that a news feed without publication dates just feels less reliable.
At this point I’m more interested in the format itself than the design. What kind of short updates would you actually click on regularly, and what kind would you just scroll past?
