It's such a big shame that a Nigerian team managed to win CAF Champions League twice, and in this ongoing CAF Champions League Rangers is the only Nigerian team that qualified to the next round, and from the look of things I don't even think Rangers can win the CAF Champions League.

It is football brother and in that game, no champion reigns forever. I understand your feeling but what we are seeing now is a sharp decline in football generally including the national team that failed to qualify for the 2026 World cup. If they overhaul the management of NFA, I'm sure something good might  begin to happen to Nigerian football.

It is a big shame indeed if we have to compare Nigeria with other African countries that have won the CAF Champions League trophy.

The CAF Champions League trophy, It's now that I have found out that the North Africa(Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria) is the one dominating it because they have won the trophy 37 times, more than half of the total since the CAF Champions League competition started in 1964 till today.

Nigeria and Ivory Coast won twice. Guinea, South Africa, and Ghana won it three times.

Since the last 2 decades the North African teams have  been dominating both CAF champions league and the Confredation cup. If we were to check why they are better than the sub Saharan African clubs , you will notice that they have good sporting projects, in terms of finances, infrastructures, coverage, salary+bonuses, sponsorship etc. So there's are no excuse for clubs from that part of Africa not to play well. Which is why Al Alhy is biggest team with staggering 12 Champions league (The Real Madrid of Africa) and they move like the top clubs in Europe. The only country that still impresses me in the sub Saharan countries is South Africa. Their league is one of the best to,with quality infrastructures and other things like the North African. Mamelodi sundowns is an example, but the remaining teams in other Africa countries are poor in everything. Like our local clubs who doesn't make good impact the continental football.  I expect them NA teams to still dominate for a long time only South African teams can compete with them.

I am not surprised at the results of the CAF tournament because our local leagues are not well equipped to go that far although the two teams that won the trophy in the past had strong support in every competition and I could remember vividly clear when the then Late Sen. Ifeanyi Uba gave them support fully and they won the trophy if I am not mistaken and ever since then it has been difficult for any Nigeria clubs to get through to the final stage of the CAF tournament.
Another thing that bothers me is that we trade players round the globe who are doing perfectly well but down home hear nothing is heard about our local football league, the clubs are not even known not to talk to being recognised because they don't even qualify for the CAF tournament. It is quite unfortunate.

The Nigeria government is not interested in making Nigeria football better, Nigeria is a nation that loves football so much and if the government would focus on football I believe the country football will change.
Just the other day I saw a video where the car that was sent to pick up the super eagles was a car that should not be used to pick up stars, and this is because they don’t value their footballers and the footballers knows that the government really don’t value them and really don’t care what they play.
Any super eagle player that is performing very well is just doing it because he wants to make Nigerias citizens happy and they love what they are doing.
If the super eagles don’t qualify for the next world cup I won’t blame the players at all.
