I am from south America and No... I am not part of the people who partake in betting for the sake of having money to pay for my bills and pay for food.
I personally believe that id quite degenerate behavior, which would be avoided at all costs.
Also, the fact 51% of bettors in the USA partake in sport betting as a survival mechanism only show how dire the economical situation it is there, and that is even considering how USA is a developed country... One may wonder who bad it could be in poorer countries which don't have the same access to wealth the USA has.

It is better if we seek for a better job or study something productive if possible, instead of gambling with our livelihood.

Absolutely not! I never place sports bet to pay my bills or rent. To me betting is purely entertainment money. I use as stake only that amount of money that I can afford to lose while still sleeping peacefully at night. Treating betting as means of livelihood and primary source of income is a recipe for disaster.

We all bet for profit ,but I won't say I bet to pay bills because that is the main reason why many are addicted, desperation can cause a lot of demaged to someone life, me personally I like betting on my favorite team and possibly if I win and I have a bill to pay I will use it to settle it ,but fully depending on gambling to sort out my bills is totally out of it , and I will not even advice anyone to have such mindset towards gambling,I believe it is a wrong mindset that can mislead many even cost them there money because they want more from betting to pay off bills .

I can not prefer to begin doing something that I know will be highly unhealthy for me. If I start betting or start gambling just because I want to earn money through it (gambling) to pay bills, that is highly unhealthy and I know that will be the beginning of me losing money and the money loss which will become higher as time goes by. I am not among them and I can never be among them with such unreasonable thinking.

I don't usually gamble to pay bills, but I would be lying if I said there have not been times when I placed bets in hopes of getting money to settle certain bills or have money for something that has been planned.
There was a time a weekend get-together was planned for my group of friends, and I had to travel, I needed extra money, so I placed a bet.
It's not like I do it often, but a few times I have done it, and I have actually won a few times. Most of the time I lost the bet. Just recently, I paid an unexpected debt with a bet I won. 
It's fun when you win, but annoying when you don't.

I never planned to use betting to pay bills or a mortgage, but I always planned to increase my income through betting. In my opinion, if you need money to pay bills, you'd better avoid gambling - it's too close to gambling addiction for my taste. In that situation, you can lose two things at once: time and money. It's better to solve money problems another way.

But of course, everyone has their own path. Maybe for someone it's the only way to solve their problems.

I don't encourage anyone to plan with gambling income that have not been won, such idea will lead to problems such as being desperate to win and not being able to accept losses which are inevitable in gambling. Betting market here are quite popular and government regulated. There is such a proliferation of sport betting app and flashy advertisement everywhere that people easily fall prey to temptation.

Mainly with growing inflation and cost of living across Europe, many feel that by utilizing bit of strategy to bet on Serie A or UCL they can cover their monthly electricity bill and mortgage payment!

However I believe there are serious warning regarding problem gambling in almost every country.

No matter how prominently Responsible Gambling is displayed on logo, when someone is stressed about any upcoming bill payment deadline, they tend to disregard any sense of responsibility. His debt just keeps mounting, and that's it.

I'm from Nigeria, but I don't work for the Nigerian government , I do remote contract jobs to pay my bills. I like to depend on my career jobs to pay my bills.

I gamble just for recreation and I cannot say gambling has been a single solution for paying my bills, although I remember winning $200 equivalent in sports betting some months ago which came in handy as extra money I used in sorting some important bills, but it only helped me save the money I already budgeted for them.

Gambling can help sometimes, but should never be relied upon because it can disappoint you when you have high hopes on it.

If betting, or gambling is used merely as a way to help just to cover rent (or other expenses), I don't think it poses a problem. In that context, the money is viewed as "supplemental funds"; something not strictly relied upon. However, it becomes an issue if gambling is the sole means of paying bills, and the risk is obvious: if luck isn't on your side, you lose the very resource needed to make those payments.

I do not believe it is wise to treat gambling as a primary strategy for managing financial matters. Instead of the expected windfall, you might well end up with losses, effectively doubled the risk. Therefore, I would advise against relying on gambling as a main source of income. You might consider it an optional way to supplement your finances, but it is best not to pin your hopes on it, especially over-rely on it (not a wise approach).

Well, it's starting to prove how gambling is getting normalized in US. Hoping your bet to settle, then you can use it to pay the bill seems a terrible plan, and i will never rationalizing it. I'm only spare money that i can lose it without the hope in getting return to do something like that.

Why lie, after all we win and lose in sports betting, we enjoy it, pay the bill or not.
Honestly, I gamble on sports or place sports bets purely because I like sports. When I win betting, I don't use the money for bills, household and so on, I use the money for friends and myself, whether it's buying clothes, food, modifications. motorbikes/cars and so on.

The obvious trust is that everyone bet to pay bills,  you might not reply on it so survive but you have to use betting to sort out some bills if you win. I do not gamble to pay bills but if I get some winnings from gambling and there is a bill to pay then I will use the money but I do not have that in my mind first before gambling because I know when you get desperate to win, that is when winning becomes more difficult for you to start achieving, but when you remove your mind then  you will be winning easily. Some people use gambling as a way of getting extra money to pay their bills and they are getting lucky but not every one can try this and come out with the same results hence if it is working for you then you can keep doing it but since it is not working for me then no need to try it as I already know the result.

True. It will help to be honest sometimes. There are times when betting has saved me but it will be very risky to depend on bet to offset bills cause if the game losses, you'd be more depressed than when you didn't place the bet simply because you placed all your hopes on that bet.
 We've gone past that stage of saying "gambling is done for fun or as a pastime" because it's no longer true for some since they see it as a means of income or as the op stated, a way to sort bills.
