In trading, if you have no sufficient amount of experience, you'll end up gambling anyway. Trading is risky, but if you trade like a professional, you can make potential winnings and continue avoiding losses. But trading is like gambling for those who are non-experienced and are just trading because of high greed and focus on the idea of making instant money.
Gambling on the other hand is risky as it is, but with luck acting on your bets, regardless if you are pro or not, winning is highly possible too, unlike in trading where it should come with thorough market analysis and perfect timing.

in as much as people will say trading is just another form of gambling, i do not fully agree with that. even if they can look similar in some situations, they still have much differences.
gambling outcome is primarily determine by chance, and we all agree that in gambling the games are structured or designed to favor the house. while in trading, you are literarily buying and selling an asset whose price is influenced by supply, demand, fundamental, liquidity, information and market expectation. so a trader can potentially have an edge based on research.
The only time a trading will more like gambling is when a trader, randomly bets on shot term price movement, especially with a high leverage and no defined strategy or risk management.
. Though they look similar some bit, but there is still some kind of different between the both. I'm gambling or or game betting, a random person can just make some random predictions, even if he doesn't know how to predict, he can mention the games and give the person the options he wants, and at the end, he can be lucky and wins, or sometimes also fails. But in trading, it needs a high knowledge and understanding of trading tactics to be on wins and safer side. If you don't know how to trade, then you don't know. There are lots of E-Books on trading, teaching how best to trade, understanding trading signals, etc. if you know well, even though you must loss sometime, you could also win, but this is not the case with gambling. The major similarity between gambling and trading is tye fact that they are much risky and there is no Assurant of winning or making profit at a stipulated time. You just do your own part and watch what happens. You just pointed out a very serious difference between gambling and trading. Before you can be called a trader or before others can call you a trader, there must have been so much research and learning and good understanding of analysis, and this requires certain level of mental ability but in that of gambling, it can be done by anyone, people who can't read or write can gamble, even insane people can gamble. But trading can't be done by anyone to talk of insane people. Ordinarily, you don't need E-book to gamble.

Should i say trading is a skill, profits are meant to be earned from our skills, while we cannot totally address gambling to be a skill, depending on the type of gambling, some gambling games requires much skill expertise, but still limited to more luck than skill. Trading is somehow similar to gambling based on the risk factor alone, else there are much differences just like you've mentioned. Moreover, gambling is fun while trading is basically an extra opportunity to make money from the stock or crypto market.

Moreover, gambling is fun while trading is basically an extra opportunity to make money from the stock or crypto market. In gambling luck plays a relatively large role in determining the outcome. However the main difference is probably in the purpose and method. Gambling is usually an attempt to profit from a specific outcome by risking money. Trading is an attempt to profit from price changes by buying and selling an asset. Things like real markets and analysis work in trading. And although gambling is seen as just entertainment in reality not everyone gambles for the same purpose. Some play for entertainment while others try to see it as a means of regular income. Similarly trading is not conducted in the same way for everyone. Therefore it is more reasonable to understand the difference by considering how money is being put at risk, for what purpose and how risk is controlled.

Sure, they're different. If they were the same thing, we wouldn't even have two different names for them In reality, those who lose in trading are those who trade short-term and don't understand the fundamentals. However, in my opinion, both short-term and long-term trading can still be successful as long as they master the basics
All I'm saying is, if trading was as simple as understanding and mastering the basics. Failure rate wouldn't be as high as 95-97% like many surveys suggest. Trading isn't as easy as you're making it sound, tbh. However, it's interesting that quite a few people lose money due to trading, leading many to believe that trading is like gambling, even though they are clearly different. I find trading tiring because it requires thorough analysis, whereas gambling isn't tiring because it's not as analytical as gambling. So, gambling and trading are indeed different, even though they may seem similar. Trading without analysis is clearly similar to gambling, even though it's not
Yep, a lot of people lose money trading, and that may be why they compare it to gambling. But why is the losing rate so damn high? Even experienced traders and professionals can't guarantee they'll make a profit. Trading isn't compared to gambling this often for no reason.

There are similarities between trading and gambling, and some types of trading are so gambling like that the two are practically indistinguishable. In trading a trader theoretically relies on market prediction, probability, and other factors, where nothing is guaranteed. Similarly in gambling the outcome of a bet is not known for sure in advance. So whether there will be a profit or a loss depends largely on uncertainty. Therefore the biggest similarity between trading and gambling for me is uncertainty, capital risk, and emotional psychology. I also understand that trading is not direct gambling, but many of the behaviors of trading are similar to gambling.
I think there are similarities between trading and gambling and the two are completely different, moreover many people think that gambling and trading are similar in some cases. However, if an experienced and skilled trader analyzes the market forecasts well, they can repeat them correctly, which is very unlikely in gambling. We cannot predict anything for sure before betting on gambling, but many times it is seen that the results are correct based on the guesses. In that case, if we look for similarities between gambling and trading, then of course the similarity is that both cases have uncertain results which are very difficult to predict accurately. Trading is not directly gambling and I think those who claim this are wrong, but many times there are some similarities that can be found with gambling and trading. However, we must accept these things that trading and gambling both involve risk of assets, uncertain results and high chances of losing money.

Gambling and trading isn't exactly the same thing, what you do determines whether you are a gambler trader or a real trader. In trading, news events can drive the market, demand and supply factors, but which is not same with gambling, trading requires you to pay critical attention and some detail analysis, And you don't do trading by luck it's by knowing it or by your experience whereas real gambling is based on some efforts and luck, which is not so when it comes to trading, it's not by luck.

Some without in-depth views would have blindly referred to gambling as trading and trading as gambling. Helping out in the differences and similarities between trading and gambling makes sense, so there's going to be a clear view and usage particularly for newbies and others who haven't taken thought to see the difference and similarity of trading and gambling.
Gambling and Trading are completely different thing, somehow they may want to cross path with the similarities they may share, but that still doesn't mean that they are the same, else tell me why it is more pronounced that a career can be pursued in trading but hardly do you see such with gambling, risk can be and are well managed in trading but the same is not with gambling, this and so many other differences you will get to see as variations between the both, just that they both get you to take risk and none of which comes with certainty and ofcourse, even in business and other works of life, there are some levels of uncertainty so would you call all of those gambling too? definitely not. Gambling has got its own entirety of difference from trading if you take your time to look at it. There's more professionalism to Trading than there is to Gambling. The luck dependency we find with gambling is just so much that it feels like that's exactly what it is dependent upon, unlike Trading.

Trading and gambling are not the same thing but they do have similarities, there is risk and uncertainty in both. Gambling is a game of luck while trading depends on analysis and a good risk management may determine it's outcome, this is what distinguishes trading from gambling. There is a way trading can also be seen as gambling, trading without making research or analysis while relying only on luck. It is good for people to understand the similarities and the difference between both trading and gambling especially for newbies as this will help them to know when they are actually trading or gambling.

Well trading without experience is just like gambling. But even professional traders can't always avoid losses, but they lose in smaller quantities while they allow their gains to increase. This is where the difference lies. If you get lucky in gambling, you can win big, but playing again and again you would definitely end up losing because of the house advantage. Now having your own market analysis and discipline in trading makes it possible to develop an advantage over time. But if you trade for the sake of greed, then it is nothing more than gambling.

Trading and gambling are different they have some shared similarities, but that doesn't mean they can be put in the same category. When you hear about them, you should be able to differentiate between the two. Both gambling and trading involve money, profits, losses, and emotional involvement, but they are still very different. I have a strong foundation in this area, and I know that everyone is aware of these differences. However once you hear about gambling and trading, you will easily recognize them. Gambling is entirely luck based, while trading relies on skill. With good skills and experience, you can become a sustainably profitable trader, but even with skill and luck, you can't be a consistently profitable gambler, as the house always wins. Therefore, I believe the similarities are about 60-70%, while the differences are around 30-40%. However, the differences provide a strong basis for identification.

If you interchange gambling to trading and trading to gambling, maybe the real point here is just focus on gambling alone and you will never reach a position in your life where you suffer from massive losses. Do not force yourself into trading when all you know is gambling alone, because trading like gambling is a form of suicidal, you know you would lose a lot but you still push through it.
Both are risky, and both can make you homeless in the long run. So don't mix gambling and trading, stick to responsible gambling, and you can always learn trading in the later part without compromising your gambling funds.

Staying on X, we'll see a lot of those proclaimed traders who are gambling with their trades. They're leveraging too much without the knowledge of it and I think it's only for the clout. But if people will take it seriously about trading, they won't do it like that. If the best traders are still losing despite their practice, skills, knowledge and experience, the less experience and newbies will have to deal with severe losses before they even learn. Some might be gambling when they trade but let's hope that they're taking lessons when they lose.

The one distinction I believe that is not always taken into account is what the expected return is flowing in from. Typically. When one enters into a betting situation. The rules and odds are established before the wager is made, meaning that the player is taking a predetermined payoff. The payoff in trading is not as rigid. Rather it depends on the market price as well as the trader's choice of entry and exit points. However this doesn't imply that trading is profitable. While a trader may be more of a gambler than a trader. The trader can enter in haphazardly. Too much leverage or try to recoup losses. So maybe the question is not trading vs gambling but rather. Informed risk taking vs random risk taking. Different processes behind the decision reasons can result in very different trading instruments.
