It all started in order to protect the humans from evil, and connect them with their CREATOR, but it eventually degenerated into fake religions because they did not continue from the good foundation of love (of humans) of the true religion. [Remember, Love does no wrong, it's selfless, caring , etc]
The fakes are as secretive as cults such that it's difficult to view their activities, check and balance them and their leaders.

Same is applicable to Bitcoin, it was selfless creation of Satoshi and Co, but its copies eventually degenerated into a selfish, careless, fake cryptos scattered allover the crypto space, and they mostly do this for love of money rather than humans the original was intended for.

Ofcourse, there would be cases where privacy coins like monero becomes necessary, but still for the sake of humans, the innocent users. One of the best ways to prove they were indeed not used for evil purposes is by users keeping records of their private activities just incase they are requested by courts, then they will be presented and the owners can safely prove that they were actually hiding to protect themselves from persecution or something like that. Similar privacy feature is slso possible with Bitcoin., and there are already ways to ensure that users are held accountable incase of wrongful use.

So when they say certain Religions are cult-like, always remember why they say so. The True One will be different by being very transparent and accountable,, but what should be private (such as nakedness) should remain private.Thesame is applicable to Bitcoin and other true crypto. They have to operate transparently and ethically, but when hiding becomes necessary it's for human protection, and they must continue operating ethically in that condition and have proofs of their operations

I understand that the use of religion in your narration was to give a better explanation and understanding in your comparison between Bitcoin itself(the main and major coin/ and other crypto projects) vs true religion and religion. Bitcoin itself substituting for true religion, while other fake crypto projects that are rampant everywhere replacing untrue religion full of hate.

While reading, I observed that there was much of Religion, just like the topic centered more of religion, and deeper emphasis on it, which now seem to me that the topic literally belongs to the public and society boards and not here, because there was much effort to explain your stand using too much of emphasis on religion. I just you get my point, but thought at the end, I got your message.

However, about the main idea of the post, surely, Bitcoin remains the head and a lead figure to all other cryptocurrencies. Particularly, I have followed Ethereum for sometime now, and it's always that anything Bitcoin gains weight it the market, Ethereum increases, and each time Bitcoin falls or declines, the same thing happens to Ethereum too. Not just Ethereum, some other crypto assets too. This proves that many of them totally depends on the strength of Bitcoin to stand and grow. That's why I would rather stick to Bitcoin than getting involved into some projects I have no assurance and ideas about its future. Plebs who are getting involved should also be careful, watch, examine and verify properly before putting in money.

The problem with your comparison is that it can only be understood by people who believe in a God.  Bitcoin could have been Closed Source so no other copies could be made, but that would first of all defeat its purpose and I believe Satoshi thought of this idea that other 'replicas' will eventually come out and was not really bothered by it.

After all, if you look at his work and his wordings you can understand that if some body came up with a better idea than Bitcoin then it would simply be in the benefit of every body, that is how I imagine he would have thought of it.  But considering Bitcoin can simply be 'upgraded' through various ways including Forks, there was no need for a 'better' Coin every time some body came up with a good idea.  Almost all Altcoins die, 'false religions' never really do.  I do get your comparison but I believe it is not the best analogy.

Well Bitcoin isn't the first thing in existence that people has tried to change the original purpose so I understand the point you're tryna make. Of a truth Bitcoin for what it is has attracted many people including those that are more interested in speculation than understanding the technology itself.
That said, don't you think you're pushing the religious comparison a bit too far? Bitcoin as we know was primarily created as a P2P electronic cash system, it's permissionless and borderless so you don't need a special lesson for you to know that Bitcoin's usefulness isn't limited to a particular religious belief. I'm surprised that you're tryna preach Bitcoin using an illustration that makes us picture it from a religious perspective even when you are aware that not all Bitcoiners are religious.

Or is this topic directed to Bitcoiners from a particular religion?

It's been a while since we have a topic about Bitcoin and religion, LOL.

I remember back then there was a lot of comparison, we even have Bitcoin Jesus or even Bitcoin Moises that time.  Smiley. However, I will have to disagree with the comparison, I mean Satoshi gave us his invention and we all know what he wanted to do with Bitcoin and what's it's purpose.

If it is being used by criminals, then we don't have control over it.

We don't need to overthink about Bitcoin, it serves it's purposed to us, so no need to complicate it like comparing to a occult like following or religion.

While i strongly prefer Bitcoin over most altcoin, i wouldn't go as far as calling it as "true cryptocurrency". Bitcoin obviously isn't perfect and ideally there's always room for discussion.

What? Bitcoin clearly doesn't have similar privacy feature such as stealth address (which hide actual sender/receiver address) or "confidential transaction" (which hide send/receive amount) that used by Monero.

The very part about Bitcoin being permissionless is very important, this because it shows why the purpose shouldn’t be tied on a particular belief or group.
Regardless of the religion or background anyone can use Bitcoin. There is are difference between how people use Bitcoin today and what Bitcoin was created. Most of some people care more about payment while others see it as an investment or a financial independence.

Personally, I have nothing against nudity, on the contrary, I appreciate ancient Greek and Renaissance culture, which elevated nudity to a cult status. 🙋

The complete transparency of the blockchain is precisely the principle of nudity applied to finance and the virtual world. Satoshi Nakamoto's idea is truly brilliant! I would like to live in a world where all matters of power, governance, and money were transparent. In such a world, corruption, propaganda, irrationality, and manipulation of people would be impossible.

Satoshi Nakamoto, in my opinion, was simultaneously selfless and cynical. He was certainly not a romantic... He understood well that to develop such a large-scale project, miners needed to be financially motivated. And the development of Bitcoin itself, in my opinion, is very similar to the process of biological evolution.

Privacy, otherwise known as anonymity and confidentiality, is, in my opinion, a basic natural right of every person.  People shouldn't have to justify their actions to maintain their anonymity and privacy. On the contrary, attempts to de-anonymize someone are, in essence, an aggressive attack against them.

Bitcoin is money that functions without intermediaries in a trustless environment. Money cannot be ethical or unethical. It is always neutral. It simply is.🪙

People will always want to copy the original version of a certain product that is good and people are patronizing in the market, but the intentions will always prevail over time and that is why no other coin has been able to match the tenacity and the potential bitcoin brings to the table, even with the way people go out to preach about the values bitcoin brings, this altcoins still penetrate into the market because they are presented as quick profit scheme and we all know the psychology of most human beings, they want to get return on investment so quickly that they forget that anything that will give you good profit will always take time. Satoshi nakamoto's major intention from what I deduce was to make life easier for human beings with his invention, which for me was selfless, what we see today on the new coins that comes up it's just about quick money driven agenda.

I think the comparison becomes more useful if we separate Bitcoin's technology from the behavior of its community. Bitcoin itself does not require faith in the religious sense; its rules can be verified through code, consensus, and the public blockchain. However, people can still treat Bitcoin ideologically or almost like a belief system.
So I would say Bitcoin is not a religion, but some people's relationship with Bitcoin can have similarities to religious belief. The important difference is that Bitcoin's monetary rules are meant to be independently verifiable rather than accepted solely on authority or faith.

If we discuss about privacy transparency paradox then the key to connect the contradiction are morality. Bitcoin and altcoin only an object, it will not have any impact if we don't use it. Based on your analogy, You should believe that God create religion as compas with its moral blueprint and God create us as servant with a free will. When bitcoin born/created, it is neutral (value free). Morality is visible when we use our free will to interact with bitcoin.

Satoshi has noble intentions when create money that is fair and free from censorship by authorities but, that intention does not automatically make Bitcoin holy. When we use it for criminal , those choice remain bad. on the other hand, profit oriented because the creator wants to get rich doesn't always morality sin, seeking profit is legitimate as long as system designed honestly. Morality on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology can be as a brake or as accelerator, it turn in to gas for promote economic freedom and transparency but it become brake when that freedom begins to harmful upon the rights of others or facilitate crime.

Crypto moral standing will loose not because world has multiple coins but when we as human (who control steering wheel)abuse its technological freedom  to manipulate the ecosystem and make it far from justice.

My reference to understand what you try to explain

Bitcoin is not a religion. It is an inevitable product of the progress of technological civilization, and it represents fairness. But it brings people more long-term benefits than religion does, even if it's just for fun.

So when they say certain Religions are cult-like, always remember why they say so. Even there are people who try to make Bitcoin as a new religion, you're free to do what you want with Bitcoin blockchain, Bitcoin non custodial wallets, Bitcoin private keys and your bitcoin. If any group of people want to do that, I don't see it is bad if it can play as a new type of Bitcoin adoption.

This article is interesting and I feel it is somewhat related to religion - Bitcoin religion.
Bitcoin and the Dunbar limit.
Quote
For humans to go beyond the initial Dunbar limit (level 1) and organize ourselves into larger groups, there needs to be some special forces that can unite strangers. Otherwise, we would still be living in small tribes.

Religion was such a force.

Religion was the first human invention that enabled thousands, millions of people to share a common outlook on life and “march to the same drum”, so to speak. They can go even as far as dying for their belief. Before religion, uniting groups of humans in such a way was impossible.

Satoshi was selfless in that he gave Bitcoin to the world without considering financial gains first. The majority of the coins that were created after Bitcoin were designed to make their creators rich.

Privacy and transparency might be difficult to attain at the same time. If you want to be transparent, then you would have to open up your accounts for scrutiny. Another problem is who would determine what is ethical, what should be private, and how transparency is measured. The governemnt feels that it is ethical for the people to pass KYC. While we want to keep our transactions private. There will never be a balance between transparency and privacy because both of them are not compatitble.

The OP has been dragging these kinds of topics around the forum for years and is clearly a very religious person, which of course is nothing that should bother anyone, but I believe that many people are bothered by his attempt to somehow connect Bitcoin, which is a cryptocurrency with something he calls CREATOR. He probably hasn't heard of the saying that one should leave God's things to God and man's things to man.

We are not a religion, sect, or cult - we believe in the right to financial freedom and nothing more.

This is where we are having bitcoin today because we needed to engage the use of a secured network that will maintain our privacy and at the same time be trusted, if you look at the characteristics of blockchain technology upon which bitcoin network is being built, you will discover a lot about it and why we should rely on bitcoin than any other digital assets or currency for our own freedom when it comes to financial economy.

This article is interesting and I feel it is somewhat related to religion - Bitcoin religion. Bitcoin and the Dunbar limit.

That's a good point about Dunbar's limit. Bitcoin is similar to the "shared fictions" Harari describes in Sapiens like money, religion, corporations, and nations, which allow people to work together and trust each other even though they're strangers. Those shared myths aren't objectively true in a literal, observable, tangible sort of way, but as long as enough people act like they're true they become true in a very real sense.

Bitcoin is different than money/religion/nations in that it doesn't require people to believe in it. Where other systems like fiat money, religion, and the nation-state require faith in some entity to keep those myths stable, such as the central bank, the Church, or the Nation, Bitcoin achieves something similar to religion, that is, the ability to build large-scale trust between strangers, but replaces faith in some entity with consensus and a set of rules that anyone can verify for herself.

So yeah, it isn't religion's replacement, but I think it's inaccurate to characterize Bitcoin as a religion. OP has it backwards.

What connection does Bitcoin have with religion? I would understand the whole transparency story but I can't see any correlation with religion and cryptocurrency. Bitcoin was created for a specific purpose and has being misused in several situations but that does not mean that it's purpose has failed. The purpose of security and authority is what bitcoin serves, and that purpose beats the bank, there is no comparison whatsoever with religion.

OP almost made Bitcoin sound like a religious thing or sort of secret culture that exists but it really isn't because the aim of Bitcoin is to be an alternative to fiat currency when one can do nothing about government policies, inflation, theft, uncontrolled losses and the likes.

One thing remains though that Bitcoin is the original version of all existing crypto currencies which defined the standard, it isn't just a technology that came out of nowhere.
Its original rules of decentralization, zero trust, and the 21 million cap remains unchanged and they aren't just any kind of cryptocurrency with more flexibility and policies that can easily be influenced by external factors.

Bitcoin and religion have nothing to do one with the other. The religions, in the majority of the times, have a centralized structure and along the history already were used by States, or even became the own State. Many of them also usually say that the money is the origin of all the evils. My opinion, without want disrespect any religion: I know that has many religious here and all are welcome. Bitcoin is for everybody.
