It is true that about $351 million worth of crypto was stolen from the Bitget exchange which caused the exchange to stop users from withdrawing their bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies and I mentioned that the exchange will announce their withdrawal plans on September 26th.

They have already mentioned that from September 28th users of this exchange will be able to withdraw bitcoins from any network And their security and technical teams are conducting additional checks and security checks on the withdrawal infrastructure, even we've also noted that independent cyber security firms Mandiant and SlowMist are assisting them with this investigation. All this hack way they happen this year done dey too much oo, which country dey really do this kind hack self, so those people way get money for bitget like this there money dey under probability, if bitget no get better funds to pay back there money done go but if bitget get better money them go come back replace everybody money and act like say nothing happen, just like that Bybit own.

It's quite unfortunate that withdrawal have not resumed yet on bitget, and for that reason we can predict the extent of the damage done by this hackers and only can trust that everything returns back to normal with the exchange.

My expectation was that by now everything would be ok with the exchange, but now that withdrawals have not resumed on the exchange, this speaks volumes about what we are expecting.

Since the hack happens across almost five chains in the exchange unlike that of Bybit that only happen in Etherum chain, they will have to sort things out first before they officially allow withdrawals, but from all indications, uses funds are safe, but that doesn’t warrant us to keep saving money with exchange because if you have money there from the time it got hacked, you will be stranded.

But I heated that hopefully, withdrawals will resume on Monday for Bitcoin and other chains will resume from Wednesday’s including EVM chains. For users that have funds there, they should try to take out their money and should learn from this experience to use exchange for their purpose if exchanging crypto, saving your bitcoin or coin should be in your wallet.

If you are using a centralized exchange, they know that one day it will soon be your exchange turn to be either hacked or scammed, always get prepared of the one day, there is more to the reason why we keep advising that people should make use of a non-custodial wallet instead of using a custodial storage for their assets in cryptocurrency. What good is it if they know the group behind the hack but cannot find them and recover all the stolen funds? Most of these scammers know the blockchain too well not to leave traces. In the past few hacks that happened, after all the investigations, how many stolen Bitcoins were recovered?

Recovering the stolen funds is not promising, if the exchange receives another threat, it will be forced to close down.

This is honestly scary because it shows that even established exchanges and wallets are not completely immune to attacks. Losing over $100M in a single day is huge, and I can only imagine the panic of users who had their funds there. Hopefully Bitget and the relevant security teams can identify the attackers and recover as much of the stolen funds as possible.

There is nothing out there that’s completely immune to hacking, but they can be hacked. Some just have stronger security, which makes it very hard for hackers to take control, but that does not mean it’s 100% immune, and for identifying those involved, there is a rumour circulating that it’s the same group, the “Lazarus group", that hacked. Bybit, which also handled this attack, is going to be a problem, the same as recovering some of those funds, unless it falls under the hand of a centralized exchange that will decide to freeze and return the money to the owners.
