Are there still people holding worthless altcoins?

There are hundreds of altcoins in my wallet that currently have no value and I don't think those coins will ever recover their price. Many investors who invested in crypto during ICO trends, have faced the same situation. I found that token transaction fees are higher than value of all of these remaining shitcoins and so it's make no sense to selling or transferring them anywhere. So now its important to check the real useages of a project, team development and other necessary things before make decision to buy any altcoins

I already scrap all of the low value altcoins I have, I used to store them in an exchange before just for having a quick take profit but apparently, I ended up just having a cut loss still hodling low value coins good thing is still there are some CEX supporting exchange your dust tokens into their own token after that I didnt hodl much coin like that most of the top 10 coin listed in the CMC are one of the priority I have right now for the upcoming bullrun.

You can still make a lot of money with alts. No need to wait until they reach a new ATH. Just take advantage of the volatility to buy low, and sell high. The frequent ups and downs, will allow you to make more money in a day compared to simply holding and waiting for higher prices in the long term. Only if you know what you're doing, of course.

To answer your question, yes I do have altcoins (tokens) that have become useless and have no value. My ETH and Solana wallets are flooded with many garbage tokens. Many of them are a scam. I also hold ordinary altcoins that were popular back then. They're no longer being traded on the market. Those are Coin Magi (XMG), Digitalcoin (DGC), and Franko (FRK). Although they're worthless, I still "hodl" them because you never know if one of them makes a comeback in the future (due to renewed interest from either developers or the public). Altcoins are like gambling. So you can either win big, or lose it all in an instant.

With mine, they're still there but I consider it as a graveyard and don't have any use anymore. I'm barely looking at it anymore and just took the losses from that heavy mistake that I did. I guess that's because at that time, I've got spare and don't know how to utilize it back then and just got fed by the covid era that I'll need to do something productive. And instead of being productive and profitable, I've made losses at that time although I took them all and can handle it because the good part of it is that I have never all in to altcoins at that time, bitcoin saved my holdings and entire portfolio.

If you're into buying altcoins you should learn from investors who are holding shitcoins so you don't get your hopes high in believing that if you buy and hold that one-day a miracle would happen and it will reach an inviable ATH the probability of a shitcoin resurrecting after it dies is less than 1% chance so it's not worth it. Many of us have learnt our lessons, during the altcoins boom, a lot of people thought that what happened to Bitcoin early holders would happen in altcoins and after some years they will become very rich but we know better today. Altcoins like memecoins are gambles, if you're not a risk taker who understands the market to know when to exit before the project dies you will be among the holders of dead coins.

Those tokes have things in common. During the 2025-2025 bull run, many of them were doing numbers, the altcoin you don't expect were doing $700m FDV, $300m market cap, if you check the market info of some now, they are not upto $100m FDV, they don't even have volume to handle large order because many people have move on to another coins they can make the same profit, many people are not having patience again for long term commitment.

The market is becoming diluted with tokens, when I hear people say crypto is going to change the world, we are revolutionizing the entire word with a new tech, I don't know if this is what they mean but certainly this is not going anywhere, no way we are not going to walk up to anyone with this useless coins and says they are safe and better investment than traditional investment, they are not.

On daily basis on CMC, we see coins getting extra ordinary gains and whats surprising is that very few people even know names of these coins. Very next day most of such coins went into darkness and people who bought them at high prices end up losing there money. This is why its important to never invest in such coins.
 
Because of too many tokens already in the market, every new coin has to say something cool about itself in order to get people attention. Doing a small research on new coins can give us idea that how useless it is to invest in such coins. If you are investing in a new coin which you think can go up in future then make sure you don't invest heavily because its like gambling with your money.

Even if someone has to invest in altcoins, it should be for a short term target, and they should always invest small amounts of money that they can afford to lose. Something miraculous might happen when the projects tokens you are holding finally become serious.
There are so many tokens that don't have good or serious team that can take the project to the next level, due to this it can make investors to sell their holdings in loses so they don't have to incur further loses due to bad tokens. Anyone holding worthless altcoins need to sell it or forget about the tokens till when there value are upgraded. Maybe when the altcoins season arrived, many of those worthless coins might start having value.
