Is smart work really for everyone?

In my opinion, hard work comes before smart work. A person needs to first put in consistent effort in what he’s doing, then through hard work… he gain experience he needs, learn from his mistakes and understand what he is doing better. After building himself to a certain level, he can now start to look for easier ways to achieve success in that same/ similar field. Now this is where he deploys smart work. Smart work is not really about working less, but knowing where and when to put effort.

Personally I strongly believe that Working smart is for everyone, even the lay man needs to be on the right path while working. You can’t work smart without working hard, this is to say that if you only work smart, you will end up having good reasonable ideas only without getting anything done.

You should always be trying to innovate and be creative, but there are plenty of work environments out there which can only tolerate this to a certain degree. If you're in a regulated industry like medicine, then you have to follow set guidelines for manufacturing, diagnosing or treating patients because there might be plenty of reasons that techniques were designed in certain ways from many decades of research. Then there are basic level jobs, like working at McDonalds, which have been designed through experience to create the optimal process and that can break down if you deviate away from the steps. You should apply this "work smarter" logic in the right conditions otherwise you might find yourself breaking the law or out of a job. If you come up with good ideas to increase efficiency make sure they're not breaking some other important step in the process, like food safety or making sure the power is off.

Experience and skills have to be mastered through hard work. It is not clear at the beginning of any work which method is effective. Of course, you need to work very hard and achieve something reasonable before anything else, because you can't start working smart when you don't anything yet. Though I think it's necessary to apply both of them, because being smarter makes things easier for us to get what we want, but the truth still remains that you must definitely start from somewhere before you will be able to make it in life, because those who are wealthy today started with hard work before they were able to get to this stage. In some aspects of life, you need to work smart not harder. Do you really think working hard pays for everyone? Some people have been working harder for the rest of their lives, yet they do not make it, while some people who work smarter makes it in life. Sometimes it’s not about how much work you do, but how smart you play in some situations before you become whoever you want to become in life.

Some people work hard, but it doesn’t mean they will be richer than others who play smart. But in some ways, we need to be patient and work harder before we become successful.

I agree, there is a level to which one needs to set up themselves before they can really start to think about working smart because it cannot be done when a person is building their life from scratch but I'm of the of opinion that it all depends on the category of smart work we are talking about, there are jobs that requires people to sit from the comfort of their homes with no investments or capital to start it up, these are remote jobs that people can actively engage in. In such instances this is also a Smart work and anyone can do it.

One can be working working hard in a smart way and what matters is result especially in physical works not like digital jobs that doesn't permit plagiarism and yes most time people even think only those who work online are those working smart while those doing physical task are working hard which personally is wrong to me because being smart doesn't have to be all about digital jobs because anyone who is trying to offer possible solution to a problem in a different way either more easier way or not, ought to be regarded as being smart because it has to do with critical thinking and to conclude, I would just say that, the moment one is able to think rational about things and scale their preferences should be regarded as smart especially when they are in tracks with their peers.

Hard work never fails people, hard work always leads people to success. Even if you have a master plan you will still need the funds to push the plan into action, so it's better to be exposed to both hard work and also smart work, one needs the other to make something meaningful today.

The only way that hardworking can pay is if the salary is very heavy, and such works are not very common like others, they always require special skills.

Let’s expand on the interpretation of the phrase “smart work.” Smart work isn’t just about relying on the resources you had from the very beginning when you started your business or job. When interpreted through a great mindset, hard work and smart work are, in my opinion, virtually indistinguishable. While hard work is often equated with physical labor, my own experience has shown that hard work can also be a form of smart work—even though I, and many others, started from scratch without any capital to begin with.

I'm not really sure with the phrase you wrote above. As far as I know, what many people say is we don't only work hard but we must also work smart.

You are right. There are some people who believe that only hard work pays, while for others, smart work does. In most cases, it is better for people to have both, as life might not always give them what they are expecting and both smart and hard work can be helpful to them.
