If any casino prominently highlight No KYC in its banner and forum promotion then it is evident that this is key part of its marketing strategy.
Haven't you met with a casino that by promotion champions the idea of a NoKYC in the use of their platform but when you get to critically assess their terms of service you you discover clauses that gives the casino the right out of necessity and regulatory compliance to ask for KYC from a customer under certain conditions.  Technically, we can't take away KYC totally from a license casino, so, always check for landmines whenever you hear of a NoKYC promoting gambling site.

From my personal experience, I am not sure if I experienced this and for a fact I hardly read the terms of service instead I go through the casino promotional thread, register and then place a bet. So far the casinos I choose always stay honest, if by any chance I fall into the category of KYC requirement after a bet, will I put the blame on myself? No gambler should ever experience this kind of disappointment otherwise it will be hell.
The fact most of the comments is more concerned about reading the terms of service definitely reading the rules first is very valid but, making a mistake such as betting without considering the casino rule doesn’t mean the casino is not at fault for including no KYC during promotional scheme when KYC is very much need, both parties should be blame.

Let me bring this for discussion: it’s no longer news that we have casinos which come here to promote themselves as No-KYC casinos, but they are KYC-compliant casinos. When a player uses such a casino without reading the terms and conditions to know if the slogan is just misleading or true and is later slapped with the requirement to provide a KYC document at the time of withdrawal, will the player consider the casino a scam or take full responsibility for not paying attention to details?
Dear questionaire, I don't find this fact that technical to find it hard of who should be blamed.
How would you know if the player read the casino terms or not?
If we want to go by legal terms, the casino being hidden their KYC terms behind public Visibilities for first timers to be aware is scam implementation and can sabotage the casinos reputations if goes by the law.
Players finding this out could also make them loose customers after customers that choosed them due to the limited KYC is being controversial.

From what you said, do you know that even if the player may had tend to read the casino terms, he won't won't find the bad  because the casino had to implement it at their own please without your consent.
In all, the player has every right to drag the casino.

You mean landmines could help find this thing we are actually looking for? Although I never knew there are tools we can use to find out some hiden agenda that the casino might be hiding from bettors.

Personally I see no reason why a casino would chose to lie for bettors even though they are licensed they are supposed to keep to their promises, I don't like casino saying something then later on they start doing otherwise. It doesn't make sense that way, and that alone would make them loss alot of customers.

I believe that the responsibility should be shared. But I believe the casino will be responsible for making important restrictions. Clear before taking deposits. In most cases. It's a promotional thread most gamblers will read first. And it's possible the full details of the conditions might be something that slips their mind. Any KYC requirements after a deposit or bet should be clearly communicated. As they will be enforced if the person wishes. However players must also review the rules before investing money. Particularly when it comes to a promotion that seems to be an irresistible offer. These conflicts can be avoided in the majority of cases through transparency on the part of the casino and by the player performing basic due diligence. The actual problem begins when either side thinks that the other will take the consequences.

There is two key points here. First is the casino creating a possible false advertisement or else its already indicated at their terms and condition, some of the casino does not have a KYC but some of them seen possible abuse about their system and there is a limit for their transactions they will have now required to check if this player is not doing illegal thing to their platform. Second is the player lazy to read the terms about the KYC and possible the casino is just wanted to hodl a large sum of money of the players if they win. Now my take here is if you are the player having an extension of your knowledge to the casino is a must, seek a review, feedback and even scam accusation to them so you can get an idea if you wanted to proceed with their platform or not, now if you do is its your risk now but for me id rather stick a casino here in the forum which tons of user can raise the issue to the support or even direct to them to reach out here.

If the KYC requirements is clearly stated in the Casino's terms, the gambler who believed what was said about the casino without confirming for himself,  has absolutely nothing to hold against the casino. He will have to take responsibility for his own carelessness.

This is no longer new that there are casinos that parade themselves as no-kyc casinos, but in their casino terms, they still have some exemptions. This can apply where it is neccessary for the casino to demand for some verification to get something clear. So, if a gambler finds himself in this situation, he cannot fight the casino when he himself did not read the terms to know if there are some clauses attached to the terms.

Legally speaking, that’s known as false advertising. You could sue a casino for doing that, but the thing is, no one is going to spend the money it would cost to bring an international lawsuit in Curaçao or similar Caribbean countries. So, no, the responsibility is not on the gambler's side. If the casino makes false claims in its advertising and then states in the small print of its Terms and Conditions that it may request KYC, the casino is primarily to blame.

Maybe some gamblers are still not aware of how casinos market themselves now. Of course their goal is to attract players, so they will not always highlight everything first.

But once you sign up, the terms are already there. If you don't read them and later violate something, it becomes harder to argue.

As gamblers we should already be mature enough to know these tricks and know that some casinos even advertise as "no KYC", but when you check their terms, KYC can still be required.( isn't it misleading too?)  Cheesy

It may look misleading at first, but if we agreed to the TOS, they will assume we already read and accepted it.

Gambling companies has a whole lot of competition out there... You are right, all gamblers should be responsible and careful before depositing on a new site, without paying attention to any terms and conditions. Before starting betting on a new site should take enough time to read other users' reviews and then participate. And gambling companies now attract users with various advertisements, most of which contain exaggerated information. Now some sites are using advertisements that their betting site does not require any KYC verification. But when you win big, they can ask you to provide KYC verification by showing temporary account restrictions. The fact that they can do this kind of thing, it may have been written in small letters in the terms and conditions, but they are using No KYC in the advertisement. This is also a kind of cheating with users, but in their case you cannot make any allegations against them, because they mention it in the rules, but you did not consciously notice it. And most betting sites take advantage of this ignorance of ours. They try to scam the user by misusing it. Currently, the number of casino sites has increased a lot. Before betting on a new site, we should responsibly, consciously and with importance understand all the aspects of that site and then start betting.

Reading the terms of service of a site you are about to use is very important, but because of how long they are, some people are not reading it.

I make it easy for myself. What people should read about on the terms and conditions are restricted countries, the use of VPN if you like using VPN, and KYC if you like privacy.

But people should have it in mind that gambling sites are centralized and they can ask for KYC at any time.

~

Please note the huge difference between incomplete information and knowingly false information. So, if a casino does not require KYC upon registration (and allows you to play gambling games and withdraw small amounts without identification) and uses this in its advertising, this is not considered knowingly false information!

Since it is the client’s responsibility to read and comply with the TOS, which contains complete information (for example, that KYC is required to withdraw an amount exceeding a certain threshold). If the client did not read the TOS, this does not relieve them of the obligation to comply with the rules. Since by the very fact of his gambling in the casino, he is expressing his agreement with the TOS.

Let me bring this for discussion: it’s no longer news that we have casinos which come here to promote themselves as No-KYC casinos, but they are KYC-compliant casinos.

I'd say anyone that fall for this trick should not really be gambling.

Its actually pretty easy to spot wether a gambling site actually have KYC compliant terms without actually reading their terms. If the site has all those 3rd party slot provide then 99% it is a KYC compliant site. Gambling site that have 3rd party site need to have license to operate thus they are also KYC compliant

Most sites nowadays have the 3rd party slots so that means they are all KYC compliant, only a gullible boy will fall for the 'no-KYC' marketing

Common problem with other gamblers is they easily assume that the casino is non KYC compliant by just reading their ann thread. This is actually where the problem starts with them, if they just made a research about this situation and regularly read all necessary details before starting to play on those casinos. For sure that they won't get fooled easily by non kyc compliant word by casinos here.

Usually they use that only for marketing purposes only.

Also what you stated is actually good observation, since most of reputable providers is been heavily regulated by law. That's why KYC is pretty much expected with that situation.

As a gambler why wouldn't you make the necessary research and enquiry before depositing your money, especially with casino that you are making use of for the very first time.. Gambling companies has a whole lot of competition out there... And so it wouldn't be much of a surprise to me to see companies using attractive promotions just to get more players to patronize them...And this is infact the major reason why I mostly find it very difficult to take at face value the words or should i call it promotional speeches of  these casino...Briefly, what I mostly do is that if I am new to a casino and I have limited information about certain information, I would simply reach out to other that have made use of that site to get an overall experience of the casino entire eco-system..And if I can't physically find a person then I would simply just navigate online to make my findings...

And you're right, you should never trust.
Let's remember which forum we are talking about, we are not talking in a betting forum or in a cooking forum, we are talking in the bitcoin forum.
What is our motto? Don't trust verify, because we are like that. So i applaud you.

This is why I always like to doubt some of the stuff I see or hear from casinos, because it can be half correct and there is usually more to it.

There was a thread here that listed well known casinos with no KYC on registration and most of them had a soft KYC, meaning they can require it when needed.

If I can only pick one or the other, then i'll probably blame myself for not knowing better. I don't mind doing both, but the first option will take some effort because it's not easy to bring their attention and put their reputation at stake.

It's actually just a marketing line. Even though it is really annoying when a casino platform markets itself in that way, and that's where players can easily misunderstand what they're actually being offered. But it comes back to us as players to smartly interpret what the casino is saying and still fully read their ToS. Because casino platforms often operate in areas where specific conditions or requirements are only explained in their ToS. If users fail to read the ToS and just believe whatever the casino says, that could be their own mistake that is too innocent.

If it means indefinitely freezing those funds under the pretext of a KYC request at the withdrawal stage [probably with the hope that the affected user gives up (assuming they can't provide the necessary documents)], I'd say that the casino is selectively scamming its users!
- Having said that, you, as a player, are responsible for reading the TOS before using any platform, so I consider both sides to be the culprits here.

I believe that in situations like that one gamblers are not one hundred percent at fault. I would say both the casino and the gambler would be at fault. The casino for engaging in deceiving advertising in order to attract more gamblers, and the gambler would be also at fault for not reading the terms of service of the casino before registering and depositing his money.

If It was in my power, I would regulate casinos so they could not use those statements about having no KYC/AML document requirements unless they actually don't require any of it for people to withdraw their winnings.
I would make this industry more transparent, in my opinion.

I also do not like gambling sites that allow deposits without KYC, but requires KYC for withdrawal. Such supposed not to happen. As long as you are KYC gambling site, KYC supposed to be mandatory for deposits also.
It doesn't make sense at all. Is like playing on the intelligence of the gambler. However, if a particular measure or requirement is used which is the non KYC before a player can make deposit, then why requesting a completely different thing all together when winning is involved? That's isn't fair, is like proven to be more sensible or smarter than the players and it's wrong.

Furthermore, it is good we take advantage of this thread and know all these before jumping on any casinos we see. So that we wouldn't say we didn't know when the time comes. Of a truth, some casinos can be so deceitful.
