ArenaPlus PH denied a Jackpot prize and says its only a GLITCH!

I just saw a news on social media that a user of ArenaPlus PH one of the Philippines newest and famous Sportsbetting gaming platform has denied a user of its winning amounting to P433million or approximately $6 million. The said user has asked for help with the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) to claim their prize. He also seek guidance from a Lawyer and according to the news, shown a screenshot or evidence that he won but the platform customer service says its only a glitch.



But as per the Lawyer, its a binding agreement and the platform should pay the user as he win on the said game. Stating that the evidence has been documented well. Will he get his prize for this? What happened in the event that NBI found them guilty. I bet the user will gave a huge reward for the Lawyer who handle this if the prize got claimed.

Im using this platform for sports event and if this issue would not be resolve then many will doubt this platform authencity to their users.

Honestly I would not expect that the winner will be paid, given the rate of corruption in PH, I'm pretty sure this operator has some backing in the government, and NBI or PAGCOR here will just come up with a result of investigation that will favor the casino.

if you still remember there was also another case where a woman had won millions and she was also denied as the casino and PAGCOR agreed that it was a glitch, I think until now the winner is still pursuing a legal case pending the court decision.

It is shameful on ArenaPlus PH a betting company that presents itself as a reliable and respectable company, would refuse to award the jackpot to the winner, claiming that this was merely a technical glitch. Whether their claim is true or false this will damage their reputation.

This is a common occurrence in poor countries or countries with unstable legal regimes and high levels of corruption. In Russia, there have been numerous cases where lottery operators have failed to pay out large winnings, citing technical glitches, errors, or nitpicking the ticket purchase circumstances. That depends on users if they will still used the platform inspite of this issue. Sometimes the people are stubborn to keep on going while they already see that theres no winner on these platform but all losers.

Most likely that will be the initial offer as they don't want their reputation to be ruined.

They can afford that for sure as they are only a few who are allowed to operate in the Philippines. now the winner here if he is satisfied with the offer might take it and might also reflect that the last one who had won and fought for her case is still unresolved until now, and given the justice in PH that will even take years before its decided and it will not end from there as there's still the Court of Appeals then after that there's the Supreme Court.. IMO, best case to do now is just take the offer.

but honestly, with what happened, although I would like to be optimistic about the winner claiming his real winnings, but the justice system is really that weak in PH, these people who run big businesses in PH cannot survive without backers from the government so they will be protected even if they violate the rules of their license.

I presume this country isn't the worst in the world. Such level of unfairness might also be occurring somewhere else. Regardless, it doesn't justify it.

It's just so sad that fighting for what's fair is becoming pointless in this part of the world. In this particular case, I strongly doubt there's point in pursuing the jackpot prize. It won't be given. It's just a waste of time, money, energy fighting for it. You'd get zero in the end, except damages--financial, emotional, psychological, and otherwise.

To accept defeat, unfair treatment, that government agencies that are supposed to protect us are helpless, and a spare change in lieu of the huge amount of jackpot prize is the most pragmatic thing to do. That's sad but that's also the realistic approach.

I think the NBI will have to do some digging on the backend, together with the cybercrime division to prove whether it was just a glitch or legitimately recorded as "win" in the system. This is how the process should be done as far as I know.
However, with the casino's financial capacity to pay the investigators, this will most likely going to be dismissed in favor of the casino. So, if the casino will offer some compensations, it's better for the guy to take it, than getting nothing. Something similar had already happened, I hope he learns from that.

Such a news is actually hurting and discouraging, after someone would have risked his deposit and spent time to make predictions only for the betting platform to deny his win and call it a GLITCH, i can imagine the pain and anxiety that the bettor would be going through currently, he was even wise enough to screenshot the booking else there won’t have been any evidence.

If this is the pattern of ArenaPlus PH then bettors must take precautionary measures to avoid such reoccurrence, ensure to verify the authenticity of gambling platform before using them, also keep records of your bets so that just incase the gambling platform wants to deny you will have an evidence, this is why i don’t just like using just any gambling platform but only those that have good reviews on this bitcointalk forum like Bitz, Stake etc, i wish the bettor goodluck in trying to claim his Jackpot, such news is actually a bad review for the betting platform, however, it should be properly verified and interrogated before conclusions are made.

Another PH casino that does not want to pay the players with their wins, this is not the new issue previously there was a new before related into BingoPlus which is they are also declined to pay the winner that took over a million and this case was even in the news and in the court tells the casino offers 1M to pay because of this glitch and raise up to 5M as far as I remembered but apparently i dont have a news if they accepted the offer or still settled now and then another news about system "glitch" issue again which is I dont buy at all the players deserved to win and its not their issue if there is a problem with their platform they always have this reason as allibi for corruption and avoid paying the winners and both of them are PAGCOR Licensed so basically the end user have a legit claim here.

Bloody hell, I was going to say that the company can’t use a glitch as an excuse not to pay, but I suppose that’s because I live in a country where that sort of thing doesn’t happen. Honestly, I don't trust the local casinos in PH especially if you win big, you will just end up a loser, the most possible way to get paid if you win big is if you win in the Philippine lottery. however, if it's rigged you can still not win, those who win are their people so it's the syndicate running it, we are fooled every day of our lives.

Gambler really wins a huge amount of money, then of course the casino should pay all the money, but if such a result comes due to an glitch, then it is a different matter, but of course the casino authorities must provide correct and logical evidence about the glitch by which they can refuse to give this prize, and if the gambler is definitely right and can provide specific evidence, then the prize must be explained to the gambler well.

"Software glitch" has always been the ultimate get-out-of-jail-free card when a payout hurts too much. If a system bug eats a player's balance, it's just bad luck, but the moment a multi-million dollar jackpot hits, the RNG was suddenly "malfunctioning."
When the cost of dragging it out in court or settling with local regulators is a tiny fraction of the $6M payout, the operator will choose the legal fight every single time.

It is not always the case in poor countries but I agree that in most poor countries still these things happen a lot. Why do users though in such countries play in national casinos when they know the level of corruption is high and the backing by the government is there for such actors. I wouldn't be happy if the court favor the casino in this case, and it'll be clear that those legalize casinos in Philippine are under the government protection to scam their customers by not paying them their big wins and put the blame on their system error. It's the casino system and they should be held responsible for any error in their system and they shouldn't use that to deprive gamblers from paying them their wins because it wasn't detected before they played the game and won big. Why is it after the big win that ArenaPlus PH is coming up with this.

This is so heartbreaking. Why will they treat their customers in such a horrible manner, or is it a crime patronizing their platform? Poor user. However, if the case is to be handled with so much sincerity and transparency,  I am such the customer may likely get the justice he deserves and he/she will be payed in full. But my only fear is for them to do the right thing since they are more powerful than her, who knows if the whole thing will be manipulated in their favour.

Again, they think they are smart but they don't know they're gradually destroying their reputation and with time people will no longer go anywhere close to their platform then they will understand what they've done to themselves.
