If you can buy it at $50 or below, I think so. But there is probably of it going to $40. All-time high was $413 in 2021, but last bull run litecoin highest price was $147 in 2025 which was 4 years after.

That means it is not yet a store of value for those that bought it at higher prices.

In short, I prefer bitcoin. Although, litecoin could increase up to $150 in the coming bull run.

Looking at the current LTC chart, it seems that LTC could return to the $130-140 range as early as the beginning of next year. It's worth noting that over the past few years, LTC has repeatedly touched this level and then entered a correction phase because it was unable to break through it. Let's see what happens this time, but I believe that if it successfully breaks through, LTC could surge into the $250-300 range.

I would have answered "Yes" in the era before Ethereum (ETH) & its smart-contract revolution arrived. However, things are different now compared to the past. There aren't many old school coins that still survive & still have the potential to go further in terms of value. IMO, if you want to make a profit, go for coins with better potential, such as Ethereum (ETH) or Solana (SOL). If you're set on buying coins that rely solely on PoW, wouldn't it be better to choose Bitcoin (BTC)?

Litecoin still has a solid niche as a fast, cheap payment option, and its long track record counts for something. I wouldn't expect it to lead every new narrative, but as a steady old-school coin it's hard to ignore.

Litecoin is not on my top choice list for investment, yet I bought 0.50 LTC 3 months ago. LTC did not increase as expected after 2021. But 3 months ago there was a good opportunity, meaning its price reached its lowest level since 2024. Because LTC price dropped to $39 in June, I invested about $22 at this opportunity. If the price gradually goes down further, I will not lose much.

So I would suggest you invest a small amount because you should not invest too much money in altcoins. Always trust Bitcoin and plan to hodl for the long term.

Litecoin was never a good "investment" because it simply has nothing new to offer. It is pretty much a copy of Bitcoin. They even pull the code from Bitcoin's source code even today.
When it was created, it had some cool ideas like having faster blocks, but that is not innovation. That is just a small change that is meaningless in the bigger picture.

Unlike what it may look like now, part of Litecoin's hype at the time wasn't the faster blocks or bigger supply. It was the mining algorithm.
By 2010 the bitcoin mining was growing and the "hardware arms-race" becoming serious. GPUs were being used at large as hashrate kept growing and FPGAs were also coming into the scene. So they came up with the idea to replace the simple and "memory cheap" SHA256 with a more complex and "memory expensive" scrypt to prevent that. An idea that years later you may have heard as being sold by many shitcoins as "ASIC resistant" which was a big lie.

Today LTC ASIC miners are available and are being used at large as well as similarly specialized hardware for all the subsequent shitcoins that claimed they were "ASIC resistant".

So the answer is no. Litecoin is not and was never a good "investment". It may get pump and dumps in short term which can be profitable but that's about it.

As much as we consider it a small brother of Bitcoin, as we all know that it has been used to test it before Bitcoin and so at the start, it was touted to be a good investment. But now, it's no longer the case, as we have a lot of crypto right now that will give you a good return.

So it's more of a sentimental coin for now, it could stay in the market but it won't have that kind of support or consensus that it once had as it used to be a good investment. And besides that, there hasn't been any changes to it for many years if I'm not mistaken.

I think he is only asking if the coin is still good investment and there are many people responding that he should invest a small amount of money in it, that shows that it is not longer a good investment that he expected to be, many people thinks investing in another coin and hold for a long term is another best way to invest, but they don’t do research and notice that there is no investment that is better than bitcoin, he have already got some important information about the investment, it is up to him to decide it he will ignore it or go ahead and invest with the little money he can afford to invest, altcoins is risky and not worth holding for long term, and it is good to let others know when an investment is not worth to invest in, but given him answer to know the truth is the best.

Litecoin is like a forgotten treasure, at a point 3 years ago its network was a good alternative for by cutting bitcoin high fees, when it took about $20 - $40 to complete a bitcoin transaction. Today they're other new generation networks that has replaced litecoin, investing on it right now at $60 per 1 could be a nice investment if the price should double in the next bull run. But you just have to be sure other investors also have an eye on the asset, which would guarantee a growth in price.

imo, litecoin is one of worst investment this time. I'm not calling when it was still cents ages ago, but this time it's no more than an ordinary altcoin in the market. It never managed to emerge from its "semi-dead" state. Throughout its entire existence, LTC never managed to gain real value (or see its price rise). Perhaps because there is nothing there to value?

Transactions are cheap, but that is not what determines an asset's "value".

In reality, any stablecoin today offers low transaction costs and, thanks to widespread adoption, outperforms LTC. Ask anyone you might suggest sending a cross-border transaction to what they would choose, and you will almost certainly hear USDT or USDC.

These first years narratives will always come back and come back as long as crypto is alive. The beginning, the first years of crypto is like a meta level, the source of everything - and that existed then never fully dies.

IMO no --- this altcoin has indeed been around for a long time but it is not that impressive in price increase, I would argue it is more to stagnant than other altcoins in comparison ETH, BNB and SOL.

When it comes to talking about cheap transactions, then I think others are cheaper and faster, I once sent Litecoin to the exchange waiting for 60 confirmations which is very boring, so cheap fees are not an excuse.

If you think of bitcoin as gold, why not prioritize it?

As investment no, it is not showing the progress like other shitcoins and not even coping up or following the trend of bitcoin for ages, so you can buy litecoin to make cheaper transactions with better decentralization than shitcoins that are centralized but buying it with the hope of making 10x or 100x is not really a good move.

For investment, I don't see Litecoin or any other altcoins that is not among the top 10 most performing altcoins on coins market Cap as good investment, because crypto investments need long term to yield good profits to investors but, still we should not forget the high volitility and lack of consistency in some altcoins market infact most of the lack the utility demand to keep their market active., this is why it's hard to see sustain market buildings up with altcoins Litecoin price have not gone half it last all time high price.

Imo, instead of buying litecoin, you are better off just going over to one of these launchpads like Pumpfun and gamble over there. I know Litecoin used to be the next big thing after Bitcoin and Ethereum but that was a long time ago. I think Litecoin died the moment  Charlie Lee sold all his coins and moved on.

I mean, it's not bad investment compared to other altcoin but pretty bad compared to bitcoin. When the chart is compared, litecoin's chart looks pretty diminished compared to bitcoin and doesn't perform as good. If you're thinking to diversify your portfolio into altcoins, maybe it's investable but i'd choose bitcoin any day or prefer ethereum, at least I can stake my ethereum and earn some good yield. Litecoin have cheap transaction fee and that's true, but other altcoins are usually also cheap.

If this is true, litecoin should have been ranked second by market cap and 24h turnover, apparently it's not. Maybe it's true if you are mainly considering litecoin because its proof of work, otherwise it's not true.
