How about the seed phrase? He did not backup the seed phrase somewhere like on paper?
One thing about phone password is that to brute force it is hard. After like 5 attempts, it may keep doubling the times needed to try another password.
He should backup the seed phrase on paper or on metal sheet like stainless steel or titanium next time.
He have his everything saved in that phone but the issue is that the device have some circuitry problem and the shopkeeper told him that we can't recover the phone while saving the data . Although time has passed and he also doesn't know the password of that phone. He have saved every single detail in the notes on that phone. How do you mean by everything saved in the phone, including the seed phrase... If you were talking about a computer, I'll say he saved the backups right in the computer, but for phone, he should be able to have written down the seed phrase somewhere else. Op also mentioned that the victim has a job that earns him good money, so he might be reluctant of trying advices given here, especially if he is not bitcoin technical. Otherwise, even NotATether shared two important links that could help...

That's sad, there's no way to recover it and it's only through him. I'm not a recovery expert with the data from the phone but I think if it's doable with the ssd/hdd of PCs and laptops.
Maybe with the mobile devices, there can also be possibility that it can be recovered. But it's about knowing if the file was there or saved notes or logs where he has put those important things like the seed. Yeah , he also lost his last hope but I am somehow trying to help him cuz he is dealing with a large amount according to our view because he worked so hard for that to collect and now he is very upset , But the good thing is that he is still doing a good job and earned double amount of that. It is good to hear that positive news about your friend, as it means they still had another way to earn that amount of money. In any case, your friend's story serves as an important lesson for anyone who hears it, including your friend; who gained a valuable insight from that unpleasant experience. The importance of backing up your wallet keys is the primary lesson here; you should also consider the importance of keeping your devices secure, so that you do not lose such critical data. I often advise people to back up their wallets securely, specifically by storing them on devices offline; that not used for online activities. So, this could also prevent those unwanted things. By the way, try listening to the advice from @moneystery, and @Charles-Tim; regarding recovery via eMMC; that might just be the solution your friend is looking for.

I have a friend of mine who used to invest in BTC in 2016. He was using very low end device on that time , and succeeded to make money through the investment. But now he still invest in markets but he forgot the password of that mobile he used to use in 2016. He tried to recover it but everyone around him told him that we can recover the mobile but not the data.
If anyone know anything that could help him, don't forget to share it with us.
He still have that mobile with him but he isn't able to open it.
The only way to recover your data is through your Bitcoin wallet's recovery seed, if you friend failed to write it down then he doesn't know what he was doing or maybe he used a custodial wallet? If he used a custodial wallet he won't get the recovery seed, the company that owns the custodial wallet have total control of the recovery seed for every users, this is why you must never go for any Custodial wallets. Many crypto investors still don't understand that there is a different between custodial and non-custodial crypto wallets, if you want an operation close to the bank style then go custodial, if you want total control you must pick non-custodial wallet.

If it's a low-end device, there's still a chance to recover the data as long as the memory part of the device isn't damaged. The question is whether it's worth it to recover it or not, because recovering data from a damaged device isn't cheap. But if he has already tried to let it go, then so be it. But in the future when Bitcoin prices are higher, he may regret not recovering it.

As far as I know, certain device components are interdependent. If you attempt to extract or use a component in isolation without the full set of associated components, you are likely to encounter errors such as bootloops, decryption failures, and so on. This task truly requires the skills of an experienced technician; alternatively, you could seek out electronic device forensics services, as they typically possess more advanced and costly tools for manual data recovery.

Oh, my God. Are you making up information about a friend again? A few days ago, you came up with the story of your awakening after a five-year absence, correcting it several times. Is there a new story now?
4 pages of replies and OP still hasn't answered one simple question, what kind of (model) phone his friend was using, LOL. I don't believe his story either, as the info he provided is inconsistance. First, his friend forgets the password. And then it's a circuitry problem, i mean like seriously man! We wouldn't even need this many pages of replies, if OP stated the model of that phone in the first place!

It is possible to unlock the phone without any data loss. All you have to do is go to a good and advanced recovery shop. They have some kind of software through which they can unlock the phone and also recover the deleted files on the phone. But remember, do not tell them that the phone has BTC wallet, and also don't leave the phone with them for work, do it under your observation.

The password of the mobile device doesn't have any to do with his Bitcoin, let him use another device get then wallet he used in saving him Bitcoin on the new device get a wallet by imputing the seed phrase of his wallet in the new device.
Warning(for you and other newbies): there are people on the Internet that claim to recover wallet, they are mostly scam don't give them any information and details of yours
From the way he is speaking, i don’t think he have access to the seed phrase or write it down, because if he do, he will not be asking too much, the seed phrase alone is enough for him to have access to the wallet, forgotten the password is the reason why he can not get access to his wallet, but he can still have access to the phone if he go to the to shop where the phone can be repaired the phone or do something that can allow him to use the phone without any problem, it is not going to be easy but i believe that there are people that can help him. About the sharing information to people who claim they can recover wallet, i agree with you on that, some people will use this opportunity to message them that they can recover the wallet for them, and all they need to do is to give them their seed phrase and they will recover everything for them, we should never trust anyone, ask questions and do it yourself, instead of sharing your important information and regret it in the end.

The sigban has cost some people a lot after they have been busing positing low content posts. They are banned and they remember their long ago account. This account is still a newbie but I noticed that the accounts that recently woke up are many and the only reason I see to it is sigban. He woke up and post three a topics, one on September 29, another topic on 30th and another topic on October 1. If he wanted to ask this question on this topic, he would have posted about it alone, but he posted other two topics and this was not the first one but the second topic. That shows that he is only looking for means to earn merits but his two other topics were moved to off-topic. He is visiting the forum and he has visited the forum today but I do not believe that his friend bitcoin was lost which do not make this thread relevant to him.

I don't know which wallet your friend used, and whether he is writing down his wallet seed phrase on a piece of paper or in a diary? Because if your device is broken, if you have the wallet seed phrase, then it is possible to recover all the assets in your wallet, but if your friend does not write it down, then I think it is not possible to recover the wallet in any way. So it doesn't matter which wallet you use, the point is that the wallet you use should store the wallet seed phrase very securely.
